"So..who's coming?" My father took a sip of his coffee, placed it on a round wooden table where we all sat.
We were currently just finished eating breakfast with the Twin Stars party, which the group had chosen a rather simple inn filled with lively chatter. As they were having a conversation while eating breakfast, my mother was currently busy cleaning up the leftovers of the chunks of food that had escaped my brother's mouth from her.
"Kye!" Eve jumped onto the table, with her head held high. Even without his mental transmission, everyone could see that, 'I am enough to protect Papa!', everyone could tell that was what he was thinking.
"Eve! Kemari~!" My sister wiggled a piece of meat in front of Eve, teasing the bonds of my legendary dragon, which instantly began to drool like a starving puppy, right before she jumped into my brother's arms.
When I saw this, I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of Eve wagging her tail at a bandit smart enough to lure her away with a piece of meat.
Apparently my father's former party members had just completed dungeon exploration with some other party, so they had some free time before the next mission or quest. So, it didn't matter whether they had the time, but whether any of them would.
Anton, who spoke first while polishing the tip of his spear, was the first to speak up, "Care-up kids don't really fit my style, so I'm going to continue this. Besides, I feel like, with my personality. , White might kill me in my sleep one day."
Despite the joke, my father responded with a serious nod. He knew what kind of temperament Anton had, and in turn knew that they couldn't possibly match each other.
"I wish Dicky or Helen would accompany White. To be honest, although I can't offer much, but Samantha and I are more than willing to compensate you guys in any way we can if you do this."
"Don't talk like that, Rey, we're all family here. I, for one, would love to accompany her and watch her grow, after all," the gentle giant replied, her narrowed eyes becoming smaller as she smiled.
"Dicky's right. You, of all people, should know that we are not doing this for money. Moreover, we managed to obtain quite a lot of treasure from our last dungeon raid." Helen said while shaking her head.
Suddenly, a silent hand lifted up, making everyone at the table turn to look.
"I want to volunteer."
"V-Viona's? You, you want to go with White?" Angel stuttered, looking at her rude colleague in shock.
Angel had explained how excited she was to accompany me, but I felt Angel would be a source of greater danger than any possible threat from an adventurer. I tried to lightly signal that she might not be the most suitable but even I was surprised that Viona would take the initiative to accompany me.
"Hmm. Logically speaking, Viona was the most suitable person to protect White. Dicky only specialized in offensive area effect spells. Although I also wanted to go with White, but I felt that maybe I wasn't the most suitable person, because protecting someone wasn't my strength." Helen just scratched her head.
"Viona, are you really okay with going with White?" ask my mom, concerned.
Giving my mother a determined look, she looked at my mother with a determined look as she nodded firmly in response.
"Pff! The woman said she wanted to leave, let her go. He is the only Augimenter among us who has elemental affinity! He had just reached the deep yellow stage last year, and coupled with his wind attribute, I thought he would be the most suitable." Anton said after a small laugh while leaning back in his chair.
"Hmm. For White's safety, I think I should back out of this. Too bad." Dicky just scratched his head, obviously disappointed.
"Sorry, Dicky, I know how much you care about White." My father put his arm on the shoulder of the great wizard.
"Maybe I will join the Twin Stars in a future dungeon raid!" myrag. Dicky just smiled at it, giving me a nod as he ruffled my hair. The other Twin Stars laughed cheerfully as we finished our conversation.
It was decided that, within a week, I would go with Viona to the Adventurers Guild and register myself.I would automatically start out as an E-class adventurer ant after passing a simple test and could, as a result of, depending on how well I did on any mission or on the quests I took, raising my class accordingly.
Back home, I saw Layla downstairs — meditating — just like when a waiter gently put a cup of water by her side.
"Lala is not fair! Practice without me!" My sister rushed past my side and flopped into a comfortable sitting position to begin her mana manipulation training as well.
As far as I know, the two of them would need a few more years to truly form a mana core, but with the speed that Layla was doing, it was going to take a few more years, it's easy to imagine that she'll wake up around the average time most kids have done.
On the other hand, Alicia did not have the patience to practice, and became bored after an hour or two, so it would take longer. It's okay, I don't want her to be a witch too early, like; she'll attract too much unwanted attention. I would be proud if he could form a mana core at the age of nine or ten.
Taking off my jacket, I turned to face my father, who was still climbing the stairs. "Dad, can we go to the Auction House again? I want to take a sword? We never had a chance after that incident, and I want to start practicing."
"Yes, I have a few things to say to my team there. We'll ask the train driver to stay for a while, so go take a shower."

Layla's father and mother were already waiting for us at their auction house. This was the first time I had seen one of them after the incident, so I was faced with a long series of questions from both of them about my health. After much persuading and convincing them that I was okay, we finally went inside. I knew that Alex was less than pleased with the treatment the King had shown regarding this incident, but at this point, like how the King felt to me, I only felt apathy towards the man. It was clear that he did not put me into any consideration other than the less important child consideration, which suited me for the time being.
The King's representative had told us that night that the augmenter who had attacked me and Sebas had been stripped of their nobles. Alex was just mocking when my dad told him this.
Turning his eyes, the owner of the auction house said that their punishment was just an entertaining lie. "yeah! Men love them. Once their wrists are slapped, and they just take a break, they will. It won't be long before they'll get their positions back."
I noticed my father clenched his fists tightly, but this kind of politics was too familiar to me.
Father went with Alex to meet the guards, while Jessica brought our carriage back to take care of Layla, leaving me with only Eve looking for a sword.
Perched in my head, my bond curiously looked around the messy storage room, filled with vaguely sorted crates and shelves of miscellaneous items. Alex had told me that the Helstia Auction House held many items, mostly from different merchants and adventurers, and others from remote places, including the Dwarf Kingdom.
There had been almost no business dealings done with the elves since the war on neutral territory reached a dead end. Over the years, the relationship between the two races was said to have gotten better, to the point of holding a friendly tournament, but it would be a slow process before the hostilities completely stopped. This is a pity because an elf weapon, which is relatively lighter and thinner, would be perfect for someone with my physique.
Something I have learned while living with the Elanoir family in Elanoir is that, while the weapons and armors forged by the dwarves are considered the highest class due to the innate mastery of the races in the field, the, elves had their specialty in bows as well as witch staff and magic wands.
Most of the magic weapons were bid for during yesterday's event, so the only ones left were ordinary weapons that would eventually be sold at the stall, which was fine for me; I wasn't looking for anything special, either, only reliable.
I didn't consider myself too fussy, but after hours of exploring the room, it was clear that my taste for swords became too particular.
Eve, who grew tired of the repetitive action of pulling out a sword, swung it several times, and sadly put it back in place, jumped out of my head and began to go on her own little adventure.
I stepped deeper into the large storage hall, past the shelves and shelves of the more attractive blades on display and arrived at the section where the sheathed swords were crammed in barrels.
One thing I noticed about the sword in this world is that it falls into several categories:
There were large swords, either a heavy broadsword, or a long claymore. Many offensive warriors and Augimenter preferred these giants because of the raw power that could be generated through one swing, but others considered the weapons to be barbaric and unrefined.
A more balanced sword, seen most commonly used by knights and adventurers, is the broadsword. It is generally used with one hand, coupled with a shield in the other hand, but there are two-handed varieties. This sword gives the most balanced and versatile appearance and is the standard sword to begin learning swordsmanship.
The last category of swords are lighter and thinner blades. Weapons like swords, curved one-edged swords—which by my world is called katana—and rapier and daggers all fall into this category. Swords, Katana, and Rapier are focused on speed and precision, while daggers are often used as hidden weapons or dual use for a more flexible and acrobatic fighting style.
Even if the weapon here is of the second level, the swordsman within me cannot help but vent joy.
However, it did not take long for the bubble to erupt. Issuing the******** was a defeat from my futile search for swords, without a second thought I swung the ordinary short sword I had chosen before and was barely acceptable. I must settle for this sword if I cannot find another.
Giving up in search of a better sword, I walked to the miscellaneous section where they held different types of weapons.I could see a variety of unique, though inefficient, weapons, it looks like it was designed by a little boy.
Navigating through the hallway, I couldn't help but laugh when I came across something very similar to what the world calls nunchucks. There was even a morning star so heavy that, even after adding mana to myself, I struggled to lift it off the ground.
"Well! Looks like Eve's dead end." I sat on the ground, leaning against the giant shield as Eve continued to run.
Suddenly, Eve let out an excited chirp.
Walking towards my bond, I saw Eve digging through a pile of weapons. A cloud of dust immediately enveloped us as Eve continued to search for something.
Making an excited squeak again, he used his front legs to point at the mediocre black trunk.
It was less than a meter long and only looked like a walking stick.
"It's not what I'm looking for, Sylv," I sighed, but he jumped at me, pushing me towards the black stick.
Relented, I walked up and picked it up, shocked by the weight of the trunk that looked much thinner now that it was in my hands.
Although it seems to be made of some sort of polished wood, it weighs more than just a regular walking stick.
While holding it, I took a closer look, examining the trunk more carefully.
The wand had a matte coating, not reflecting light at all, while the entire trunk was smooth to the touch.
Although it wasn't particularly striking at first, I could see the intricate curves that formed the design throughout the mast, but other than that, I couldn't find anything special about it.
Eve continued to stare at the staff in my hand, her golden eyes sparkling as if she had found a national treasure.
Finding nothing out of the ordinary about it, I tried to swing it.
Feels pretty.
Its weight was distributed in a balanced manner like a sword, even more so than the short sword I had chosen as a reserve. Taking another swing convinced me that the balance of this stick was too useful to use as a walking stick or stick.
Excitement grew inside me once again, I wanted mana into my eyes.I hoped to notice something with enhanced vision and my hope revealed. it was so faint that I only realized it after strengthening the mana into my eyes; even then, I could only find it because I was looking for it.
Even more faint than the indentation mark on the pole, was a small line that seemed to separate the two halves of the stick.
"…"
This is a sword!
I immediately tried to pluck the Sword out of its sheath, but it would not move. Even with my body being strengthened with mana, I could not muster the strength to pull it out.
Don't tell me this is the kind of Excalibur I should have…
Pushing away the ridiculous one, I inserted the fire mana attribute into the sword, but still, it was useless.
After half an hour had passed, I realized that which element attribute was not the answer.
…Impossible .. what if …
I activated Dragon Will. I did not use his power but just inserted Will into the sword. And, despite all the previous struggles to gouge out the sword, a light pull was all it took for the sword to slide out of its sheath.
