Robin Hood (1973)

The story is narrated by Alan-a-Dale. He introduces Robin Hood and Little John, who live in Sherwood Forest, robbing from the rich and giving to the taxable residents of the town of Nottingham.

Sheriff Nottingham tried to catch both, but he always failed. Meanwhile, Prince John and his adviser Sir Hiss arrive in Nottingham.

Earlier, Sir Hiss hypnotized Prince John's brother, King Richard, to fight in the third crusade, resulting in Prince John ascending the throne as the de facto King.

Unfortunately, the Prince is greedy and immature, even sucking his thumb whenever his mother is mentioned. Robin and Little John rob Prince John by disguising himself as a fortune teller, prompting the Prince to deliver a gift over their heads.

The sheriff, under the orders of Prince John, imposed excessive taxes on the residents of Nottingham. However, Robin gives back some money to the rabbit family, and gives a bow, arrow, and one of his hats to the young rabbit Skippy for his birthday.

Skippy invites his two sisters and his friend Toby to watch him test the bow, but then accidentally shoots the arrow into the courtyard of Nottingham Castle.

The children sneak in, meeting King Richard's daughter and Prince John's niece, Maid Marian and her lady-in-waiting Lady Kluck. Marian reveals that she and Robin were once childhood lovers, but she was sent to London. Now having returned to Nottingham after so many years, he wonders if Robin remembers him.

Friar Tuck, a local priest, visits Robin and Little John to report that Prince John is holding an archery tournament, with a kiss from Maid Marian as his prize.

Robin disguises himself as a stork and enters the contest, while Little John disguises himself as the Duke of Chutney to approach Prince John. Robin wins the tournament, but Prince John recognizes and exposes him, handing him the death penalty despite Marian's request.

In the woods, Robin and Marian share a romantic evening, later surprised by the cheerful Robin people, who sing a funny song dubbing John the "Fake King of England".

The song became a hit, so Prince John tripled his taxes. Most of the city residents who could not afford to pay were imprisoned.

The sheriff visits Friar Tuck's church to steal from the poor box. Tuck attacks the Sheriff with quarterstaff, resulting in Tuck's arrest for treason.

The monk is imprisoned in the castle, and Prince John orders his execution, in hopes of luring Robin into doing something rash to save his friend.

The night before the execution, Robin Hood and Little John sneak into the castle. Little John manages to free Tuck and the other prisoners, while Robin steals all of Prince John's gold.

Hiss awakens, and tries to stop them, waking up the castle. Chaos ensues as Robin and the others try to escape to Sherwood Forest, and Robin is forced to return to the castle to save Skippy's sister Tagalong.

The sheriff chases Robin past the building and attacks her with a burning torch, burning the castle and forcing Robin to jump into a ditch.

The soldiers shoot arrows into the trenches, but Robin dives to safety, and rejoins Little John and Skippy. Hiss reprimands the distraught Prince John for his failed trap, and points out that the castle (belonging to Prince John's mother) is on fire, which drives Prince John insane.

Later, King Richard returned to England, and punished Prince John, Hiss, and the Sheriff with hard labor at the Royal Rock Pile. He forgives Robin Hood, who marries Maid Marian and leaves Nottingham, with Little John and Skippy in tow.
