The Fall of the Star

The Fall of the Star
Chapter 1 Star School

Who does not know Ayudia Maharani? He was the star in the class. Almost every semester is always at the top. And not a class. In the school there is indeed one superior class where only twenty students who have the highest grades in the entire school. That is, Ayudia ranked number one also for one school.

“Who? Ayudia again? Isha! No wonder, anyway!”

“She again? Holy hooch! No death is a child!”

“When can I be all her, yes?”

That's what other students in the class would say. Yes, the name of Ayudia Maharani has never escaped being mentioned in the ranks of the top three highest scorers of one school. And no one envies his achievements, because indeed Di—so his nickname—always seem the most diligent among them, also the most active when responding to teacher questions in the classroom.

Since first grade SD used to be that's how it is. In fact, his parents had never paid school fees because he always got an achievement scholarship to the High School level. The prize every time he received a report also never escaped his capture. His father and mother were certainly always the most proud when the rapping meeting arrived.

But unfortunately, it was precisely at the time of the final national exam which was the final determination, Ayudia was stricken with typhus symptoms so that she was not maximal in doing the exam questions. At that time he insisted on not wanting to skip school and still enter even though his body felt very bad. He did not want to take the follow-up exams so he tried hard to survive his pain.

Bad results were also produced. He had to accept when his test scores plummeted to the point of eliminating the opportunity to get into the path of a full scholarship at the desired university. It was completely outside of his plan. Ayudia shock is amazing.

“Where, Dia?” elvira asked as she held her best friend's arm.

Ayudia looked limp, her shoulders slumped and her face was also very dim. Elvira seemed to be able to guess what the outcome would be. But as a friend he still continues to encourage Ayudia as much as possible.

“Not escaped, huh?” elvira asked again while hugging Ayudia and stroking the girl's back.

“Many score higher than me in other schools, El.” The weak answer was heard from Ayudia's mouth. He had just come out of the Counseling Guidance room where every third grader consulted about the level of the lecture to be taken.

Ayudia had long planned to aim for a full scholarship program at a state university of the capital. The counselling teacher himself had also expressed his support and had also registered all the achievements Ayudia had. The requirements for the scholarship are very strict. Not only the track record of achievement for six semesters in High School, but the final score of the national exam is also a point in itself. And at that point Ayudia lost to some other students who were much luckier than him for not falling ill during the exam.

“Sabar, yes .. if you do not pass the high school bond test. Definitely escaped!” Elvira immediately suggested what she thought was very suitable for a child like Ayudia.

“But even later to depart and test many times outside the city I have no cost, El.” Ayudia complained while sighing in regret.

Really, he was angry at his own body that chose pain just in the exam yesterday. Usually he was always healthy and even rarely ditched school on the grounds of illness. He felt like fate was not on his side. He began to feel like a creature persecuted by fate.

“Later you are with friends who also took the test. There are several like, so you can take the bus together, at least how much, He.” Elvira recounted the suggestion because she did not want Ayudia to be discouraged just because of it.

“After all the rivals to enter the service bond are really noisy registrants and what is taken is just how much, try! Very small chance I escaped.” Ayudia again expressed reluctance.

Ayudia finally nodded weakly. It is easy for Elvira who is a rich child and has applied from the usual route to the famous university in Surabaya there. He does not need to think about the number of rivals, the weight of the base money and monthly fees. Everything can be easily borne by his parents.

It is very different from the condition of Ayudia itself which comes from the economy of mediocrity. Can go to school until high school alone is lucky and his father has to work harder than usual. It is sad that Ayudia has to burden again to insist on asking for college without a full scholarship. Surely Ayudia parents are not able to see the needs of their lives are also getting higher every day.

Back at school he told his mother about him who did not escape and his mother was only able to give advice “Ya is okay, He. Maybe it's not your destiny to go to college, son.”

Tuh, right! His mother would only be resigned because indeed they have not been able to if to comply with Ayudia's wishes to go to college. Bu Nani is a simple woman who is actually very supportive of her daughter's dreams. But what power if the income of Mr. Anwar, her husband, is not enough, they can what else?

Ayudia went to her room, threw her body into the bed and grabbed her head with a pillow. Then the crying came out. Tears ran wild and he could not hold back a beat. What a pain his heart is like the sharpest. The dream that had been so close in his eyes could simply vanish. Everyone had thought he would definitely pass the full scholarship path. He himself was sure of that. But in fact, destiny says something else!

Mr. Anwar who came home late that night because he took overtime also met Ayudia in his room. It was heartless to see the sadness looming on his daughter's face. The man would usually try hard and willingly sacrifice anything for his daughter's happiness.

“Nak, if you really want to go to college, you can try, really. Don't be sad, yeah. Later you think of ways to lecture you,” said Mr. Anwar is making a determination. The patient man indeed dared to be reckless for his family. He can sell heavy equipment in his workshop if necessary. But is that enough? He did not know how much the tuition fee for Ayudia would be.

But of course Ayudia who knows the financial condition of her family is not to the heart of forcing herself. If for the entry fee they have to sell a lot of goods, then how does it go? Because the monthly tuition fees and meal costs and paying costs are not cheap at all. Everything will cost a lot. They won't be able to get that kind of money anytime soon.

“Nno, Sir. Ayudia might try the bond school test. If you are lucky to qualify it can also be guaranteed a full scholarship even to be borne, sir. Doain He escaped that one, yes,” pinta Ayudia while acting tough in front of the father.

“Well, thank God if there is another way, son. Father and Mother must definitely pray the best for her son,” replied Mr. Anwar smiling gratefully.

Mr. Anwar came out of the princess's room and then cleaned himself up for a late dinner and went to the terrace to sit with his wife, talking about a lot of things that happened all day and also what happened in the workshop earlier during Pak Anwar's work.

Mr. Anwar has a small welding workshop that serves orders for iron or stainless fences and also harmonica doors. In the past when orders were still many, he could easily get a lot of money to give to his wife, but the longer the order is getting quieter because it is run over by competition with new large workshops that have sprung up and are able to offer prices much cheaper because of the amount of capital owned.

Ayudia returned alone in her room. He then took his key diary and wrote down what happened that day with one sentence with all uppercase letters. He wrote it with a feeling of extreme anxiety and annoyance half to death.

...'TODAY MY DREAMS ARE RUINED!'...

At the bottom of the book, he added a small note that he did not accept it. He wrote with determination that he would atone for his defeat that day. He will prove to the world that he will still be able to go to college somehow! Yes, he sure is going to do that!

"I, Ayudia Maharani. The Star of the School will forever shine..." Ayudia Gumam.
