The Fall of the Star

The Fall of the Star
Chapter 35 Temporary Substitute

“What the fuck? You were actually appointed as his successor, Madam Rasty? But how is it possible? Oh my goodness, very much. I wantuuu, huhuhuuu ..” The goddess immediately bought eyes and nagged me when she heard the news.

“Where do I know. Tuh because Pak Hartono ngajuin name pas Pak Joni looking for his successor Mbak Rasty. I did not know and was not asked for approval directly to his room. And you know, when it's finished, it says that tomorrow he starts working in his room. Kan Mbak Rasty his desk in the room also tuh.” Ayudia is also flogging now. He really wanted to protest to Mr. Hartono because because he was trapped in that situation. Which is not good the same Goddess because her friend seems to object to it.

“Duh, why is Mr Hartono not pushing me, anyway? Hiks,” furious Goddess is still mellow.

“Sorry, yes, Dew Ayudia was finally only able to apologize even though the Goddess did not directly scold her or express disappointment towards her.

The goddess immediately turned to Ayudia and tried to chuckle even though there was actually envy in her heart that she was trying to cover up.

“Nothing else, He. It's not your fault. I'm just sad all this time who has a crush on Mr. Joni is me, ish!” The goddess said again.

But the conversation was over because then Mr. Hartono walked towards them. He apparently told Ayudia to go straight to Mr. Joni's room because he had called him.

“I ... get there first, yes,” say goodbye to the Goddess with an unknowable expression.

“Eh, Day. Don't take my future husband, yeah!” message the Goddess while laughing at her own joke.

Ayudia so confused whether the Goddess really likes Pak Joni or just a joke the same as the staff of other single girls. His name in the office is indeed very common if there is a pujaan man or woman pujaan rame-rame so, thought Ayudia weighing.

“But who wants to take him? Aiiiih what cool is a fierce person like a refrigerator so!” his grunts while continuing to rush to his new room now.

Once there, it was true that what he was facing was the sour face of the walking refrigerator.

“How is my coffee and why are you late to the room, Ayudia?” ask Mr. Joni without further ado. There is no welcome or welcome to cooperate or any welcome. Damn it, right! And the Goddess was infatuated by such a man? Geez! Ayudia really did not think of the taste of the friend. It feels like he will brainwash the mind of the Goddess later if he has time. He had to open the girl's eyes to see that the admired Mr. Joni was unfit to be a husband. Could there never be a romantic incident later between them because where could the refrigerator act smooth and sweet?

“Sorry, Sir. But Mr. yesterday did not tell me to come straight here so I need to go to my old room first to pack some personal items,” Ayudia replied boldly.

“Your coffee will be here soon, Sir,” he continued after putting the briefcase in his own desk drawer and turning to go to the pantry. Fortunately yesterday she had noticed the way the office girl in making coffee orders Pak Joni. At least now he can do it himself.

Upon returning to the room, Mr. Joni was apparently not there anymore. So he put the coffee on the end of the table free from sheets of paper files that are somehow still left scattered there. He seems to be checking them one by one.

Finally Ayudia sat down at her own desk and began working on the pile of files that were already there. Every day the task seems to only check the incoming report for the manager's signature and sometimes record when the manager, he said, mr. Joni leads weekly meetings and also prepares materials for meetings. He had already browsed through the example draft made by Rasty on his desk laptop for a later overview. It looks like he can do as well as Rasty because the available examples are also many and neatly structured.

Again he became wondering why Rasty's captive until fired by Mr. Joni. Next time he will obviously find out so that he does not make the mistakes that Rasty might make. If the risk is fired, it's a danger.

Mr. Joni just returned to his room after some time. The coffee was cold and fortunately still drunk and instead of asking for another cup. If so then Ayudia it would be irritated because the work to make coffee really reminds him of the task of OB or OG only. Not to be insulting, but the secretary has many other jobs that are far more important than just struggling in the pantry to provide coffee.

During the break, Ayudia was stunned because Mr. Joni said just as he was about to go out.”You come with me meeting with clients out now.”

Okay, he's the boss. But what's the least concerned about the private affairs of his secretary? At least he could have told her in advance that Ayudia had to join him in a meeting outside at lunchtime.

'Sucks!' inner Ayudia was upset.

However, because he could not refuse, Ayudia resigned while bending face to face, following the refrigerator man's steps right behind him to the parking area where Pak Joni's car was located.

He crossed paths with the Goddess as he passed through the corridor near the HRD room and could only throw a helpless look at his companion who was glaring in shock. Immediately Ayudia sent a notification chat to the Goddess so that the girl would not be jealous of her.

{I have to join Mr. Joni meeting with clients outside.}

The goddess who read the message became no longer prejudiced and replied to the message with a short answer. ‘Nakanya who has a handsome boss.’

Ayudia giggled at reading it to make Pak Joni glance at him because she suspected Ayudia was laughing at him.

“Ngetawain what?” fierce sergeant. The dark-black eyes framed by the two thick eyebrows were now looking down into the depths of Ayudia's iris.

“Oh, nothing, sir. Sorry,” Ayudia replied hurriedly. There's no way he's honestly answering a joke about that fierce boss right!

“Jaga your attitude! Don't whine later in front of clients!” the sweat of Mr. Joni which of course makes the red face of Ayudia. She was humiliated as a grimy girl. He certainly can distinguish when it is time to be whiny when it is time to look efficient and elegant. Damn it, this fierce guy, his sentence was full of humiliation and drew a lot of estimate on him.

Finally Ayudia was silent and determined not to answer if not asked first. He must keep the image in front of the boss so as not to be underestimated as before. It is called cengenesan.

Arriving at Pak Joni's car, Ayudia climbed up and installed a seat belt. Then they glide towards the restaurant that has been agreed with the client Pak Joni and throughout the trip Mr. Joni explained what to do by Ayudia there later.

“You will act as a minutes first. Pay attention to how I negotiate with clients later and record important things that you must remember really. Then later you can just during a meeting with other clients you will represent me to present to them. So make this afternoon an opportunity as your learning experience,” said Mr. Joni firmly.

“Good, Sir!” answer Ayudia short. His fierce boss did admit he was quite professional at work despite his fierce and indifferent attitude. It is fitting that the superiors also always rely on him and praise him at every opportunity. Perhaps the charisma is also what makes Dewi and many other girl staff who admire him blindly.

The meeting with prospective buyers in their company ended with the signing of a large purchase agreement. Apparently it's a side project in addition to the main product import which is indeed a pre-order system first. They started the meeting with lunch together first, then continued with serious talks involving product presentations by Mr. Joni and negotiations related to prices and other cooperation agreements.

“The most important thing when negotiating with clients is to keep your attitude not to be low but also not to be pretentious high. Try to hear what their will is first and make them comfortable by feeling that we are prospective partners who understand their needs. That way when we present the product, they will be more able to accept our suggestions so that the project will most likely be a goal, he said,” said Mr. Joni explained at length when the client was ready to go first and leave them both in the restaurant.

“But, Sir. I think that such a job is the job of a manager like you and not the job desk of a secretary like me, sir. I can negotiate with clients like you did earlier,” denied Ayudia later. He felt the need to emphasize the limit because he believed he was not able to do that if at any time Mr. Joni would ask for it.

“Of course not. You can only represent the presentation of the product. Let me close it,” replied Mr. Joni lightly.

“But I also have not mastered the characteristics of the product as well as its advantages, sir. How can I present—“

“You like to argue, yes! Yes learn, dong! Rasty can usually do just that with easy—“

“Then why not Mbak Rasty aja tetep who became the secretary of the Father? Not me, sir. I'm just a regular admin staff that—“

“Loh, why are you even tweaking me? Who's the manager here, ha?” joni snapped with anger. It seems that Ayudia had meddled in her affairs too deeply that she was offended.

“Sorry, Sir. But indeed I can not if for—“

“See learn first!” said Mr. Joni without wanting to hear another rebuttal from the mouth of Ayudia.

Ayudia finally just shut up and no longer refute. They drive in silence until they return to the company and into the same room. It felt like there was discomfort between the two until Mr. Joni also immediately stepped out of the room when he had put his briefcase back on the workbench. While Ayudia let out a long sigh and tried to remain calm even though it felt like she was starting to insecure and inexperienced.

When finally Mr. Joni returned to the room. The man approached Ayudia's desk and said, “Take it easy. You'll only be a temporary replacement for Rasty. He will return to work after his personal affairs are finished.”

“Huuuft .. alhamdulillah,” said Ayudia without being able to clear her voice. It made Mr. Joni glance again at the temporary secretary while raising his thick eyebrows in wonder.

Ayudia does not care to be considered too happy that she will not be in the same room with her boss or anything. He is honestly happy if the job is only temporary and not forever. It is better to be an ordinary administrative staff even though the salary is not how important it is not to be constantly depressed by the absurd demands and cold attitude of the fierce boss.
