The Fall of the Star

The Fall of the Star
Chapter 8 The Announcement that Destroys

And when finally the anticipated announcement arrived, Ayudia had been living in front of the screen since morning blind. The announcement will be released online on the day starting working hours. But since after dawn Ayudia has not wanted to go far from his cellphone.

Ms. Nani and Mr. Anwar to the point of telling Ayudia to have breakfast, but not at all.

“Shortly, Sir, Mom. She's nervous, deg-degan. Do not want to say anything before seeing his announcement himself,” replied he insisted not to leave his room.

“Yes, He. Kan later even though he saw it too late also the announcement will not change, right?” said Bu Nani a little annoyed. But then could not do anything because it was so the character of his daughter. Very stiff and hard-hearted, very difficult to advise.

Ayudia sat in front of the cell phone with whatever prayer she was praying outside her head. God, the heartbeat inside his chest felt so hard it felt like he was just going to get out of his place.

The expected hour arrives. The screen of Ayudia's phone is right to open the official website of the state financial department. Yes, the announcement was indeed released there because indeed the high school was under the auspices of the department. Certainly those who pass and succeed in college and graduation from there will also be employed in the bona fide department. Who is not tempted, right? It seemed like thousands of chests from all the selection participants were pounding as hard as Ayudia felt.

The announcement table is already plastered in plain sight. With trembling fingers, Ayudia scrolled the screen slowly perhaps fearing that someone might be missed. The names listed are also not sorted alphabetically because the order is based on the registration code number and the domicile where the participant is registered.

But until the limit of the last table in the sequence number 1,100 there is no name. There is no Ayudia Maharani in it. Not believing his vision, Ayudia again scrolls the site, re-examining one by one the name and the membership number. He figured who knows there's a possible name typo. The system could have misrecorded his name, right? But nil. His membership number was not found there either.

“Please, go! Masa’ yes of a thousand hundred received it turns out I am not included in it? Not wrong what ,nih?” half-numbed alone.

Unable to resist the annoyance and disappointment, Ayudia kicked the leg of her study table and immediately got up and threw her body into the bed and cried roaring there. The sound of pillows to cover the face and hide the sound of crying but not too bad still heard to the ears of both parents.

Hurry up Bu Nani approaches the princess. Mr. Anwar had already left for his workshop. But he had asked immediately to be informed also how the results of Ayudia's announcement.

“Nak?” call Bu Nani when she reaches the mouth of Ayudia's room door and sees the girl curled up as she pleases on the bed.

Ayudia did not answer. I don't think he can stop the crying. His issue continued to spew nonstop and his chest also rose and fell full of emotion. Disappointment to so many times must be received in the near future. What a terrible test for an Ayudian who in school had never felt the name of defeat.

“Where? Not yet passed, huh?” asked Bu Nani softly while sitting next to Ayudia and stroked her son's black hair gently.

Ayudia did not answer, but her cries were increasingly heard roaring until Bu Nani did not continue to ask because it was clear what the answer was. The middle-aged woman first let out a long sigh then calmed her own heart before trying to comfort the princess.

“Have ... is okay. He said he could still try next year to take the test. Maybe this year you have not been lucky,” said Bu Nani trying to calm down.

Ayudia's sadness piled up into one taste. His shoulders did not hold the weight of a pile of envy that he was usually able to reduce in the hope that he would be accepted in the test. But apparently zonk also results after waiting for so long. Then want to be answered with what all the friends who have been showing off to him lecture? Geez!

The hungry stomach had not been filled with any food since that morning made Ayudia's stomach acid rise and she was twitching when she got up after weeping.

Bu Nani immediately took breakfast and forced Ayudia to eat because it was clear that her face was as pale as a corpse. The mental burden of not having passed the second test she had expected and being accompanied by no food intake of any kind that day almost made Ayudia faint instantly.

Fortunately, he immediately drank the warm tea that was also brought by his mother. Ayudia finished the glass and roared again crying over her failure that time. I don't know what else he's gonna do now. Waiting for next year's test he could have mossed first!

Ayudia continued to stay in the room. Ms. Nani got restless and called her husband. Mr. Anwar came home early to comfort and advise the princess.

“Dia ... hasn't escaped isn't the end of everything, is it?” ask Anwar patiently. He had already dragged Ayudia's study chair and placed it next to his daughter's bed where Ayudia's body was still there since morning.

“Ayudia shy, Sir. Shame!” refute the princess who made Mr. Anwar a little surprised.

“Kok shy, anyway? Shame on who? Haven't gotten away with the number of rivals that are so tens of thousands it doesn't matter, son. Not a shame, kok.” His father returned to comfort.

“Friends are sure that I will escape, sir. Huhuhuhuu ..” The cry of Ayudia increasingly sounded sliced.

“Yeah, that's not a problem at all. They also know that you did not escape. They also see for themselves how many registrants and rivals? Moreover, you had fainted, obviously the condition of the body is not fit. Probably because of that too, right?”

“What a shame why He always hurts in such a crucial moment, huh, sir? It's like God deliberately makes me fail to know!” pekik Ayudia getting harder so bad.

Just be spontaneous Mr. Anwar beristighfar.

“Astaghfirullah, He! Don't say that! The ordinance of Allah is best for His servants. You have to accept that. How can you reach Su'uzon like God, son? Istighfar!” Remember Mr. Anwar who never thought why there could be such a bad thought in his son's head.

But Ayudia continued to cry and could not stop for a while, until her voice was hoarse due to crying for too long. It really broke his heart at that moment. His dreams were one by one taken for granted by the thing his father called good destiny.

'Ish! What is good!' Inner Ayudia thrashed.
