The Forsaken Heart Flakes

The Forsaken Heart Flakes
Chapter 1

The bustling afternoon atmosphere typical of factory disperse makes the streets look jammed. The noise of the motor horns and cars was earthy, scrambling over the streets that seemed full. Tired after a day of work, making people want to go home immediately and get to their homes.

Likewise with a young woman who has just returned to work after her maternity leave is over. Her name was Nadira Megantari. She was one of the factory workers. She is currently waiting for the arrival of her husband who used to pick her up.

"Mas Danu where, huh? Why has an afternoon like this not come yet?" nadira asked as he glanced at the small clock that circled in his left hand.

At this time it was almost 05.00 pm, but her husband named Danu Purnama still did not arrive where the man usually waited. Nadira had been standing there for almost an hour. Danu himself is a man who works as an online motorcycle taxi. Danu and Nadira's marriage has been going on for about five years. During the wedding, Danu and Nadira were blessed with a child named Tiara. Tiara was only two months old and that made Nadira a little worried about her baby that she had left for too long.

The 23-year-old woman reached into her small bag to retrieve the phone she had stored there. Not a good phone that he has, but only old-fashioned phones that can only be used to call and send short messages.

The first call made by Nadira was not answered by Danu at all, but Nadira again made the call up to several times. But Danu did not answer.

"Nad, you haven't come home yet?" ask one of Nadira's friends who happened to pass by with her husband.

"No, Din. Mas Danu still hasn't picked me up!" replied Nadira.

"Maybe it's stuck, Nad. Just wait, yeah! I'll go home first." Dina passed after Nadira nodded her head.

Nadira is now back in silence while looking in various directions. She hoped to see her husband among the many people who were still rushing to go home. Although he who disbanded work first, in fact even back crammed with the employees who had just disbanded overtime work.

"Oh my God, where is Danu going, huh? I've been waiting for him for over an hour, but why hasn't he come yet? Called, he didn't answer." Nadira again grumbled. For the umpteenth time, the woman contacted her husband again. He hopes this time Danu answers his phone call.

The voice continued to be heard in Nadira's ears, but only a few moments because in the next second, Danu disconnected the connection and made Nadira growled.

Mas, where are you actually going?

I have been waiting for you since, you know!

Please pick me up now! Kasian Tiara is waiting for me to come home!

Nadira tries to send a message back to Danu, she hopes her husband this time will answer the call and reply to the message. However, Nadira's expectations were not appropriate. An hour after Nadira sent the message, Danu did not come, while the day had begun to move in the evening.

"Oh my God, where is Mas Danu really? Why didn't he give me news? Not to mention I don't have money to ride angkot," said Nadira as he stared at the picture banknote of Dr.K.H IDHAM CHALID in his grasp, that's all he had.

The money was actually allotment he was spending today, but he didn't use it. While Danu has not given money to him for several days on the basis of his online ojek income he bought milk for Tiara, the rest he gave to the mother who takes care of her daughter. Nadira had only been working at the factory for about two weeks, so he also did not have income from there.

Nadira again contacted Danu, but this time the man's phone became her husband was already in a state of disconnection and it was successful in making Nadira feel chaotic. Her body which was still not all total postpartum two months ago, not to mention she felt tired because the very heavy work today in the factory made her sad herself, she said, while it was getting dark the night sign was coming.

"Yes God ... Mas Danu, why do you live like this? If you can't pick me up, you should just say so." The young woman muttered as she bowed languidly lamenting her heart-wrenching fate. Plus his chest that increasingly feels tight because of the breast milk that has not been given to Tiara all day is increasingly making him sick.

In the midst of Nadira's confusion, suddenly there was a man who came to him. His name was Raka Arjuna. He was one of Nadira's bosses in the factory.

"Nad, you're not home yet? It was late afternoon, you know!" ask the man.

"No, Sir. I'm still waiting for my husband" Nadira replied to the man.

"Oh. Why hasn't he picked you up? Tumben once."

Nadira grimaced as she could not answer Raka's question. He himself was confused by Danu's unusual attitude.

"Do I need to take you?" ask again.

Nadira was surprised by the offer of the man named Raka. How not, the man who was so respected by the workers in his building, now he was offering to go home together.

"Do you not want me to take you?" rework Raka again.

Nadira immediately shook his head. In addition to feeling sad, he also felt unethical if he returned home from work delivered by another man. Moreover, that man was one of his superiors.

"Ti–no Sir. You don't have to bother driving me. Thanks for the offer, but you don't have to do that. I'll just wait for my husband" Nadira said, a little nervous.

Nadira's refusal made Raka's face slightly changed. However, it did not last long because Raka again behaved as usual. For a moment, Nadira noticed the change in Raka's face, she frowned slightly in surprise.

Is it just my vision that is weird? Why does Mr Raka look disappointed with my answer? inner Nadira.

"Yes if you refuse my invitation." The man smiled a little. "In that case, I'm authorized to accompany you here, huh? The atmosphere here is quite worrying. I just don't want anything bad to happen to my workers" he added.

Again Raka's words made Nadira surprised and immediately nervous. The woman lowered her head and did not dare to look at the man sitting on her motorcycle.

"B–bapak need not accompany me. I will be fine and I can take care of myself. After all ... I am not comfortable because I am worried that it will be the talk of people," Nadira subtly refused. He tried not to offend the man.

"Yes .. cars that pass by are many. But the place you're standing here is pretty quiet. What if someone messes with you?" asked Raka while looking around the place where they were currently.

Nadira just realized that the shophouse was already deserted, people had all returned home and Raka's words were true if there were only the two of them.

"Of course, you don't have to worry. I will keep you at this distance. So, people won't think anything of you," Raka breaks up as she gets off her bike and walks towards where there's a coffee shopper. Afterwards, the man sat in the shophouse's headquarters not far from where Nadira was standing.

Nadira just kept quiet and let the man do what he wanted to do. Although he felt uncomfortable and uncomfortable, he tried to remain unconcerned. Again the woman's thoughts were on Danu, her husband still had not contacted her or come to pick her up.

Oh my God ... Mas Danu, where are you going? nadira miris.

Half an hour the two people were sitting around the shophouse. Even the adzan maghrib had been reverberating since earlier, but the person they were waiting for had still not come. Raka approached Nadira, he saw that the woman's eyes had turned red, perhaps holding back sleepiness, fatigue and disappointment.

"Nad, your husband hasn't come yet, has he?" sapa Raka who now stands not far beside Nadira. The two of them were staring at the streets that were starting to get quiet.

Nadira did not answer questions from Raka, the woman's chest was already tight because it held back the disappointment of her husband.

Seeing Nadira who did not react to his question, Raka let out a long sigh. He himself was confused. Although Nadira was not a person, but he could not leave the woman who was one of his employees in a quiet place like this. Raka also reached into his pocket, maybe this was a little disrespectful, but he also could not force Nadira to take him home.

"Sorry before, Nad. It's ...." Raka thrust the green money at Nadira and made the woman look at him. "You used this money first if you refused to take me between. It's getting late. The angkot car has also begun to desolate," he said again.

Nadira did not immediately accept the money given by Raka. He felt bad, but also at the moment he was in need of it.

"That's it, you take it, Nad. If you feel burdened, you can return the money at any time," said Raka again.

Nadira is still weighing Raka's words. He also could not have if he had to continue standing there all night because he waited for a husband who never came.

"Ka–kalau ... sa–I accept, yes, sir," said Nadira stammeringly. "I'll return this money as soon as I can. Thanks in advance."

Raka answered Nadira's words with a nod.

"Yes, you're welcome."
