"I'm just a widow" replied Nadira with a small smile. There was no intention in Nadira's heart to cover up her new status to Santi's mother.
Hearing Nadira's answer, Santi's mother was quite surprised and did not expect that women were easy in front of her a single parent who was required to be independent by the circumstances.
"O–oh, ma–maaf, Nadira. I didn't mean to offend you, just .. Can I know what made you part with your husband?" ask Santi's mother carefully. For some reason, his heart felt relieved when he knew Nadira's status.
Nadira chose to be silent without answering a word of Santi's mother's question, at this time she is still not ready to talk about the reason for her separation with her husband. This was because he had indeed not completely healed with his heartache. So, Nadira is still not ready to bring up something related to Danu.
"Sorry, Mom. I can't answer Mom's question on this one" replied Nadira in a soft voice. She hoped that Santi's mother understood her current feelings and no longer questioned the reason for her separation.
Although a little disappointed because Nadira did not answer her question, Santi's mother interfered and said, "Yes already, if you do feel any objection, you do not need to answer."
"Thank you, Mom."
After saying a word of thanks, silence enveloped the two that sounded only the sound of babbling from Tiara, making the room not too quiet.
"Oh, yes .. By the way, is there any need for Santi's mother to come here? Shouldn't you still be resting at home?" nadira asked after a moment of silence.
"none. I only came here because I was bored when I was home alone. So because I also want to know where you live, I went to the address you gave me yesterday" replied Santi's mother.
Yes, Nadira had given his home address to Santi's mother when the middle-aged woman asked for it. At first Nadira thought it was just a small talk because she knew enough how someone would thank her.
"Oh .... Thank you Mom for coming and stopping at my residence and .. sorry for not being able to host Mom properly, too," said Nadira who felt a little awkward.
"It's okay, Nadira. It is precisely Mother who apologizes for coming here suddenly without telling you first" replied Santi's mother.
The two told a lot about things that made Nadira comfortable and as much as possible Santi's mother also did not offend the divorce of the young woman in front of him.
"Oh, yes .. By the way you have been selling food like this for a long time?" ask the middle-aged woman who is now holding Tiara. For some reason, he felt happy while teasing the little baby.
"It's been a few months, Mom. Maybe if I don't remember wrongly, I've been selling for about two months" replied Nadira while remembering the first time he came to that place only alone with Tiara.
"Oh, means it's new, huh?"
"Yes, Mom."
Nadira smiled faintly as she lowered her head and shook her head. "No, Ma. I am from Bandung. I came here after filing for divorce" he said.
Santi's mother seemed surprised by Nadira's reply. Oh my God .. What really happened to this boy? Why do I feel that he has a wound that is difficult to heal? santi asked in her heart.
"O–oh. Apparently you're far away too, huh?"
"Yes, Mom."
"Have you ever worked before?" ask Santi's mother again. Not knowing why, he felt so curious about Nadira's past and where the young woman came from.
"Ear, Mom. I worked in one of the shoe factories there. But not too long because at that time I entered after a few days of birth and immediately resigned after something happened to my family," explained Nadira.
"Oh, my God .... Then, you left your son who was still red, huh?"
Nadira nodded his head again. "Yes, Mom. I was also forced to leave my little daughter, but because I wanted to help the economy of our family, so I steeled my heart to leave her with my in-laws. But ... everything did not go according to my expectations ...." Nadira stopped her speech because she felt she had spoken too much.
"Akh, sorry. I shouldn't have said this to Mom" the woman added.
"It's okay. If you really need a friend to tell a story, I can listen to him," said Santi's mother.
"Thank you, Mom."
Nadira chose not to go back to the story and just stay silent, making the atmosphere between the two women back to silence. Not long after, Santi's cell phone was heard ringing indicating a call coming in. Nadira had seen a photo of someone who was so familiar to him because the middle-aged woman's cellphone was just put away.
"Oh my God .. This child called me suddenly, startlingly," mother Santi grumbled as she saw who was contacting her. Santi's mother asked Nadira for permission to raise the call and give Tiara to her mother's lap.
"Nadira, I'm going to pick up your daughter's phone first, yeah!" he walked out of the house.
Meanwhile, Nadira who was still surprised could only nod and invite Santi's mother to take the call.
There's no way that I saw that picture of Mr. Raka, his mind.
