Chapter 51 The crescent moon sword

The cake shop was no longer open after the break was over, they were closed because they had to return to the residence. Isabella wanted to take something from Oswald's residence

Oswald's name was a new surname proposed by Jasper, he took that name from Isabella's diary without permission. But Isabella did not bother him, he felt the three of them did need a new family name..

Oswald's residence was right next to Jovan's, even their residence was much larger than Jovan's. Isabella did not expect that the residence would be as large, beautiful, and grand as she currently saw.

Not only did they even have their own servants, their servants were all men just like the maids in the shop there was not a single woman. The servants of the residence were not too many either, only 20 people specialized to take care of this large residence.

"This is the door to the storage room." Callix pointed at the iron door in front of them.

"Why is the door iron?" isabella asked puzzledly, the iron door reminded her of the door to the knight dormitory.

"Anti theft," replied Callix.

He pressed down on some walls and the iron door opened, and there were many stairs leading to the basement where all of Isabella's valuables were kept. They descended into the bring along and the iron door leading to the basement closed by itself as they entered.

"We purposely kept it here because Jovan said your stuff was very valuable, he also said that if the items could threaten the life of the owner if not stored properly. Even though in our residence, your belongings were just lying in many places," Callix said showing all Isabella's items are neatly arranged.

Isabella chuckled and then she saw all the valuables one by one, so she had to take one of her collections as a birthday gift for the duke to be held tomorrow.

Before long the bell of the basement rang, the sound was a sign if there were guests coming. The servants had no permission to go to the basement, so they just rang the bell in front of the entrance of the basement. That was true if the owners of the residence were all in the basement, that way one of them would go see what happened.

"I'm the only one who goes to see. You guys just come later when you're done." Audrey took the initiative to go upstairs to see what was happening.

As Audrey exited the basement, the iron door closed again. Outside the door was waiting for a servant.

"What's wrong? is there a problem?" ask Audrey.

"The Empress Sera came to see Mr. Audrey along with Viscount Jovan," the maid replied.

Audrey's heart skipped a beat as the empress' arrival was something unexpected, after all for what the empress came to the commoner's residence.

Audrey wants to call Isabella back. But making an empress wait was not a good thing, Audrey had to go alone.

When Audrey entered the living room, she immediately greeted her as a form of respect.

"Sit down!" sera's orders. Audrey nodded and sat down on the sofa opposite Sera.

"See that and sign it." Sera haughtily threw several sheets of paper onto the table, Audrey who could not resist was forced to read the contents of the paper.

After a few minutes, Audrey put the paper down and said, "I refuse."

"What?" an unexpected answer from Audrey's mouth made Sera's blood boil, "How dare you?"

"Then I look forward to that empress. The empress can come back, sorry that I can't deliver you" Audrey said.

"If you want to take one, even if it's not this good. But everything else is good, you can get it" Isabella said, making Jovan shed tears.

Isabella finally returned to Abraham's residence when all her affairs were finished, Isabella also asked Jovan to bring the sword tomorrow. He was afraid that if the sword came down with him, all his surprise plans would fail, even if he was still not sure whether the gift would be received or not. But it seems to be accepted, because Jovan who will take him does not forget Isabella asked Jovan to keep secret who the giver from Cedric.

But far more important than that, Isabella thought about what gift Vanessa gave Cedric, whatever it was must have been special to the recipient.
