The Warm Home

The Warm Home
Season 2 Chapter 10

Dining room.

Toktok!

"Come in." George said, leaning his back. Enter two grandchildren, then he looked at the door with a frown.

"Where is Nicholas? It wasn't like I told him to --"

"He's sick. Not bad at all. So while I was walking here, I told him to rest." His answer was while walking towards the chair beside his grandfather.

Raphael waved his hand, hinting for him to sit next to him. George nodded slowly. Then Raka moved and sat down beside him while paying attention to the dish this time.

Grilled fish with a delicious tomato sauce, mayonnaise and do not forget the many vegetables (according to him). His eyes were fixed on his grandfather, he knew it was his idea to love vegetables.

"Let's eat. It's delicious, you know." Raphael said as he cut the fish. He looked at the boy next to him. Face sour when looking at a bowl of vegetables. In fact, not too much. It's just.... Raka did not like it.

Not wanting to make a scene, Raka was forced to eat the vegetables. The way he ate was not separated from his grandfather's gaze. He ate his vegetables first with mayonnaise that had been stirred with tomato sauce.

Before long, those 'scary' vegetables were exhausted. He shifted the empty bowl and immediately ate the grilled fish that had begun to cool.

"HM! It's good and delicious." Mumbled. George and Raphael looked at each other then smiled holding back his laughter.

After eating, the two boys said goodbye to their Grandpa. Raphael pulled Raka's hand to follow him. Raka said nothing, just silently following from behind.

They were at a white door bearing Raphael's name. "Ooh, this is his room." Batin Raka's.

The door opened and a fresh fragrance burst out. One breath, immediately smelled. "Looks... Mixed flower fruit. Freshly...."

When he entered, he was stunned to see the contents of the room. A room designed like a doll palace. Lots of stuffed rabbits of various colors and sizes. Somehow his heart felt happiness that it had never felt before.

There were also plastic flowers in every corner of the room. The 6-year-old boy walked around the room full of surprises.

Suddenly, his foot stepped on something that felt very soft. He was shocked and took two steps back.

Apparently, it was a white fur carpet. He had never stepped on it. Just have no.. Just looking from afar belongs to his neighbor.

"That's smooth. Whaaah! I'll definitely sleep well." He said with a smile.

"Thank God... You like. I brought you here to play with me. Wants, right?"

Raka thought for a moment then asked. "Hmmm... How's it?"

Raka never really played. Because he doesn't like it. Raphael smiled slightly.

"It's been... Just relax. Now, just play it all you want. Oh yea! I have a toy train. Ihooo can just put the tracks." He said while taking out a toy from inside the wooden box.

"From grandpa?" Guess it. Raphael shook his head.

"My foster parents gave him. First gift from them." Evidently. Raka raised her eyebrows.

"We're the same, Raka. Both were thrown away and not expected by our parents."

Raka looked at him in wonder. He was really curious about his life. Not wanting to linger, Raphael immediately began his story...

POV Raphael

I cry from thirst. The woman took me straight to her house and gave me mineral water because she had not bought any milk.

Long story short, he finally took care of me until I was 2 years old. I remember once, he was sick. His body is hard to move. Her husband, ruthlessly put me in a poorly maintained orphanage. It's a long way from home. I felt sad but, as a child, I couldn't do anything.

In that orphanage, I was bullied almost every day because of my long, strangely colored hair. There were only two babysitters there. The children in the home were about 20 people.

No one likes me. When I asked them to play, they immediately stayed away from me. Everyone says I'm carrying a curse.

I don't know.... I don't understand that. I rarely feed. I often drink quietly to make my stomach full. Not infrequently, I took food from the kitchen because I was very hungry.

At the age of 4 years, precisely in early 1982. As I recall, in February. I decided to run away. Because I can't stand it and I already know how not to get caught.

At night, at 23:00 when everyone is asleep. I was ready to get out of that hell. Then, don't forget I took a few slices of bread and a bottle of mineral water.

It's very quiet. It made it easier for me to escape. I slipped out of the kitchen, towards the exit. Afraid? Sure was! Hearts were pounding, hands were shaking, and cold sweat was pouring out. I moved my legs slowly and SUCCESSFULLY!

Along the way, I ran in an erratic direction. I cried because I had no place to live. I was confused where to stay. I have no money, I feel hungry and thirsty. The food I brought I couldn't eat everything. I had to save to last for days.

I don't remember how many days I've been around looking for a place to live. Lucky it was summer. So, not afraid of rain. I don't have any clothes. Yaaa actually had, but it was torn because it was scissors by the caretaker. So, all I have is one attached to my body and an adult T-shirt.

Once upon a time I asked to buy cheap food by an adult man. He got angry and kicked me out. People don't help me. They looked at me strangely. All I can do is cry.

I continued my journey until one day, I found 'a place to stay '. An unused shophouse again. I slept right on the porch. No one kicked me out. If it bothers you there must be. And so I hated adults. Because most of the adults I meet are bad.

Until one day, there were some young men who were drunk. Passing in front of me, speaking in words that are inappropriate to say. Not only that, they also damaged some of the facilities that were there. Looks terrible.

One of them looked at me and grinned. I was trembling as he walked closer. I ran somewhere. I didn't realize, the guy was invisible and I just kept running.

Suddenly, in front of me was a very tall building and there was the inscription MAURICE HOTEL. I want to ask one of the people there for help. But, I paused because there was fear. Afraid of being kicked out again.

Suddenly, there was a middle-aged man giving me a big piece of bread and 2 milks in a package. I ate it with gourmand. Be aware... I haven't eaten in days. And that milk, I spent it straight away.

The middle-aged man looked at me with a faint smile. Then I asked a lot about myself. I answer everything. I thought he would be disgusted with me. Because I haven't had a shower in a long time and changed clothes. Instead, he took me to his home.

At first I was scared, because I was traumatized by what happened in the orphanage. He assured me that bad things would not happen. I'll stay at his residence and sleep on a soft bed.

When I arrived at his residence, I was amazed because the building was very tall and good. Many servants greeted him. I feel inferior. Because appearance.

A maid came up to me and said she would clean my body and give me new clothes. I walk beside him.

Stay in a fragrant room. The room seems to be reserved for guests. There was only a mattress, a vase of flowers, a small table, a closet and a small shelf.

It looks simple but I like it. Then, the maid accompanied me to the bathroom and bathed me. Before long, my body was clean and fragrant. I saw there were some soft pajama stels. I also chose my pajamas and immediately put them on.

It feels very comfortable.

Suddenly, my eyes fell asleep and fell asleep. I forgot when I was last able to sleep because there were so many distractions when I slept.

Long story short, I actually lived in that residence. The middle-aged man I called grandfather, freed me to do what I wanted, taught me what I didn't know. Even I was given a parent who loved me very sincerely. I love them so much. They're like my biological parents.

Meeting with grandfather is the most grateful thing and I will never forget that. Although it has been a lot of trouble for him. I will never forget his services.
