The Warm Home

The Warm Home
Chapter 7's

Flashback in December 1980

At that time, America was hit by a blizzard. No one dared to leave the house. The streets were full of heavy snow until the houses were almost covered with snow.

Lynn sat on her wooden chair, enjoying a warm chocolate with a piece of bread. Looking at the outside window, waiting for his son who he had not heard from for a long time.

"Alan, are you okay? Why haven't you told mom? When are you coming home?" He said while daydreaming.

Tok Tok!

A knock on the door blew his daydream. Lynn hurried up from her chair. He thinks it's Alan, his youngest son.

Chequek!

When he opened the door, he was surprised. The one who came was not Alan but a woman who had not been heard from for a long time.

He is Zoe, his eldest son who has been away from home for years. Lynn felt sad, disappointed and happy when she could see him again.

"Mom misses you so much, son. Where have you been all this time?. Come-" . Not finished Lynn spoke, the child thrust a basket that size is quite large.

The basket was wrapped in a dark blue cloth. He was confused but, still accepted it. Just now Lynn wanted to ask, the woman said quickly.

"Please take care of him. There is money in it for her and her mother. And this suitcase, it contains the need." After saying that, he turned his body around and said again softly "I'm sorry." He runs away leaving Lynn still confused by what has happened to her son.

Lynn hurriedly entered the house as the snow had already started to come inside.

Brak!

"What actually happened? Zoe.... Why don't you want to tell me about mom?" Lynn did not feel upset at all at the firstborn. He felt sorry because he knew. "Zoe must be hiding something from me." His inner.

Sruk!

The basket moves. The surprised Lynn reflexed backwards. He was curious but, a little afraid also to open the cloth.

The srek!

Closing his eyes, he opened the cloth and was shocked. A baby is fast asleep with a pacifier in its mouth.

Lynn held his chest. What a shocking thing. "Huh? This is your son, Zoe?!" His shouting.

The baby felt disturbed by Lynn's voice, he immediately woke up and shook his flexed legs. Her eyes were round and the color was very beautiful and rare.

Lynn approached the basket, she was very curious about her 'grandson. When I saw his face... "Handsome." Lirih.

The baby held out both hands as if he wanted to be carried. Lynn lifted her small body and took it out of the basket. "You're pretty heavy, yeah." Lynn chuckled, the baby smiling as if understanding what Lynn was saying.

"There's so much pity. He was small but did not feel the love of his parents. Not even a name yet." Lynn said as she looked at her round face.

"From now on, grandma will love you and raise you. Despite living a simple life, grandma will try to guarantee your life is not lacking in affection." The baby laughed while playing his fingers.

"Raka, would you like to accompany Grandma? Grandma is lonely every day. Friends with grandma? Grandma's gonna give you some nice warm milk." Candanya..

Ever since Lynn decided to raise her, her life has changed. Despite the difficulties he faced, he struggled. His granddaughter is the cure for his grief.

Flashback off

A month later

"I want to go for a walk with grandma tonight, yeah" said the little boy who was enjoying his ice cream at the playground.

"Walk later tonight? What's going on tonight?" Ask.

Raka immediately approached her grandmother with a big smile.

"Later tonight there's a food festival. I'd love to buy it. It must be delicious." Lynn thought for a moment. He actually objected because the night wind was very cold and worried that his grandson had fallen ill.

Seeing Lynn's expression, the boy immediately seduced her. "Come, grandma... I've been saving up for snacks at the festival. There are many foods I want to try. Yeah, yeah." yeah." Lynn could not bear to see him pleading, she finally nodded in agreement. The boy was happy not to play.

"But we have to go home quickly. If grandma says go home, you have to go home, yes "Struthfully. The boy nodded quickly.

"I'm home first, yeah." Raka said while running away from her grandmother.

"The bike don't forget, Raka." Excited Lynn saw Raka coming home with a run. The boy came back again with a smile. "Hehee I'm sorry, grandma. Next time I won't forget."

Flashback (slightly up)

Yesterday the day after, as he went to the shore of the lake, he was fond of petting the cat that caught his attention. Then suddenly the cat ran. He also ran behind the cat. Feeling tired, he decided to go home.

When he got home, Lynn asked him where his bike was. He also panicked. Worried his favorite bike is gone. Finally, his grandmother accompanied him to search. Raka said, his bike he put near the lake.

Arriving by the lake, they heard the sound of a bicycle bell. And that's Raka's bike. Lynn saw a boy about the same age as her granddaughter play the bike.

When he saw that someone was approaching, the boy immediately bowed his body and left. Lynn and her granddaughter looked at each other in astonishment.

Raka approached her bike and went home with a relieved heart.

"Other times, be careful." Lynn said as she rubbed her head. The boy nodded. "Yes, grandma. Let's go home."

Flashback complete.

The night we waited for finally arrived. Raka was ready with her little bag of money she had collected for a long time.

"All is ready. Let's go." Lynn said while clasping her hands. They walk while enjoying the beauty of the night. Many stars are rising up in the sky.

They almost arrived at the festival. Many exciting shows, games and of course snacks that look delicious. Raka ran here and there to see a food vendor she had never eaten.

"I want that sweet one, ah! It looks spicy, but I'd like to try it. Whoa! The juice looks tempting. I'm gonna buy it." Lynn nodded at her adorable behavior. His hands are full of food.

"Just let grandma take it, your hands are full." The boy was just a whimper. Lynn saw a long bench near the shady tree. He invited his granddaughter to rest there while enjoying snacks.

"Mom, try this one. It's said it's a Japanese food called takoyaki." Lynn shook her head "grandmother is full of juice. Just for you, yeah." Raka is just mangosteen while chewing.

Suddenly someone sat down beside Raka and greeted her. "Good night, handsome boy." Hearing her familiar voice, Lynn immediately replied "Oh! Dr.Hans, good night."

Raka did not reply, he was busy with that delicious meal.

" Call Hans, yeah." He said while watching the boy beside him who ignored him.

"Uncle is out dating ya" asked Raka suddenly. Hans was surprised to hear that. Lynn was no less surprised. Where does she know the word 'dating. Inner wonders.

"Your jacket smells of female perfume. It makes me dizzy." He said with a ketus. Raka immediately stood up and moved her seat.

Lynn felt bad with Hans apologizing immediately

"I'm sorry my granddaughter. I'm really-" but Hans cut his shit.

"May I speak to your granddaughter for a moment?" Hans asked calmly. Lynn, who was initially worried, became astonished. He nodded with doubt. Hans immediately approached the boy who was enjoying his avocado juice.

Seeing Hans approaching him, he instantly shifted. "Save a little. I'm busy." Hans was completely astonished by the behavior of this one brat. "He is special." His inner.

"OKAY. Please continue to enjoy the juice. I just wanted to ask." He said while folding both his hands.

"Oh... That earlier. Of course I know right away. From the smell of female perfume and the thin lipstick scratches near your lips. The sign is that you hugged and kissed the woman." Hans was at a loss for words. He nodded and laughed at himself.

"Hey, who taught you, boy?" Suddenly his feet were stepped on. He grimaces. Raka looked at him annoyed. "i'm sure. You must have known my name." He is not the kind of kid who likes to joke. Especially foreigners.

"Yes, Raka. Do you know where those words came from? You are still a child. What book is..." His words stopped seeing his unsettling eyes staring at him.

Gluey!

I don't know why his guts were shrinking in front of this boy. "I'm sorry I won't bother you anymore." Raka grunted in annoyance. Before leaving him, he said. "I just found a chatty adult. I thought, that person who is growing up, would become quiet. Apparently, not all of them." Then, he left behind Hans who looked at him meaningfully.

Raka approached her grandmother who had been waiting for her worriedly. He assures her that nothing happened. They also came home because it was late. Lynn watched her grandson walking in front of her. His attitude has completely changed. Not like it was full of smiles.

"That guy. Yeah, a guy named Hans. From the very beginning of meeting, his gaze was very suspicious. He approached me because he wanted something. While I was being treated at the clinic, he secretly pulled out a strand of my hair. For what?! He thinks I don't know."

Raka was so busy with her thoughts that she unconsciously pulled her hand because she walked straight through her house.

"Having arrived, what are you busy thinking?" Lynn asked, opening the door. Raka just shook her head slowly.
