The Warm Home

The Warm Home
Chapter 4's

"Dad, this is the daughter-in-law that I've been waiting for her presence. C'mon baby. Introduce yourself." Robert said as he brought his wife closer to George. "Good morning, dad. I'm Joanna." He said while looking down. George nodded with a smile.

"Hmmmm.... Robert's taste changed a bit. Not like the cheap women he used to carry. But, it seems he's hiding something." George nodded when he saw his appearance.

"And this is our son. Looky. Dad's granddaughter is pretty, isn't she?" Robert brought a 2-year-old boy closer to his father. "Well, that's pretty! What's your name, princess?." George was anxious to see it. The cute boy just smiled.

"Name's Kate. We often call him Kitty because he's cute like a little cat." George carried the beautiful boy and kissed his chubby cheeks. Joanna smiled as she glanced at Robert.

"Zack, look at my beautiful grandson. Muach. Your cheeks are adorable."

Zack saw that his master was very pleased with his grandson's presence. "Miss Kate is cute and adorable. I hope Miss Kate grows up to be a good, smart girl." Zack said as he glanced at Robert and his wife, Joanna.

"Well, it's time to eat together. Zack, take them to the dining room. I've prepared a special breakfast for you. I hope you'll like it." George still faithfully carried his grandson.

"Well, thank you dad. We're flattered." Joanna said with a sweet smile. Robert had been holding back his sense of regret from earlier because Zack kept paying attention to Joanna. He thinks Zack likes his wife. Zack is planning something. Yes, Zack knew who Joanna was.

The dinner takes place solemnly. They all eat quietly. Kate, playing with Zack. He ran here and there in the flower garden behind the house.

After he finished eating, Robert took his wife around the house. Many new displays and the look of the house has been much remodeled by George. After walking around, they sat in the flower garden while watching her cool daughter picking flowers. Accompanied by a flat-faced servant, Zack.

He occasionally glanced at Robert and Joanna. Robert immediately stood up leaving the place followed by his wife.

From the first time Zack worked at George's house, Robert didn't like him. Always looking for a loophole to find his fault for the father to fire him. But, it was all in vain because George already knew about Zack's life.

Robert walked in a hurry. His red face restrained his anger and clenched his hands.

In George's study, Robert tells his father about Zack's behavior in the living room.

"I told you a long time ago. Just fire him or if you don't have the heart, have him work as a cleaning service at his company dad. I can't stand to see his arrogant expression." George just sits back and forth listening to his chatter while occasionally sipping his coffee.

"Especially when he looked at Joanna with a strange smile. Whatdoes thatmean? He likes Joanna and wants to take her away from me. Huh!" Robert slammed himself onto the sofa. Joanna gave him the juice that was provided at the table. Robert drank it all out.

"I believe in Zack. He's not someone who fights badly like you said. He's been working for me for over 10 years and proved to be good manners. You were the one who didn't like it in the first place."

"Yes! Because of his face, his arrogant attitude and feeling he knows everything. He thought-"

BRAK!!

Robert was shocked and immediately fell silent. So did Joanna who was shocked to see her in-laws angry expression.

"Enough, Robert! I want Zack to work here. I paid him and remember! You have no right to govern. If your arrival is just to convey that, go there! I'm tired of hearing it. Don't ever come again!" His chest up and down evaporated his anger. Robert was always willing to manage when he was not the host.

"I'm sorry we. Already made a scene at dad's house. Hhmmm .. Then we want to go home." This time Joanna opened her mouth. They also walked out of George's office.

Initially, George wanted to take Robert and his small family to stay over because he still wanted to play with his granddaughter. But, because of Robert's annoying attitude, he changes his mind.

Robert and Joanna walk to the flower garden where their daughter plays. Robert sees Zack there, holds Kate in his arms and hugs her. They were like harmonious sisters. Zack looks happy to play with him. He smiled and laughed.

As Zack realized the whereabouts of the two of them, his expression changed as before. Flat.

Joanna saw it too. He also doesn't like Zack. He felt uneasy as Zack watched him.

"Close your eyes, servant! I can't hold it anymore! Ever since we just arrived, you've been watching my wife so intently as if you'd skin her. Has my wife ever done you wrong?!" Robert said as he clenched his hand.

"Alright, baby. Just leave him alone. We're going home." Said Joanna calming Robert who was ready to hit Zack.

"Hi, my beautiful granddaughter. Go home." They were shocked, not since when George stood behind them.

Kate, who was carrying Joanna, laughed cheerfully at her grandfather. "Next time, yes. We'll play together."

"Huh! Because of that fucking waitress. My plan's fucked up!" Robert sat in his arms while walking towards the exit. Eventually, Robert and his family came home upset.

"Hawahh..." George let out his breath, feeling relieved. "Children and daughter-in-law alike! One is arrogant, one is manipulative. Hmh! She thought she could trick me with that sweet smile?!" His grunts while walking to his bedroom accompanied by his loyal servant.

"Already, Sir. You better rest. I've had 3 servants prepare your bed." He walked ahead of him and opened the door for him.

"Actually, I wanted to go back to the study but, the incident made my head dizzy. I was happy to see my funny grandson. But, her parents' behavior made me feel annoyed." George has changed clothes to help Zack. Zack just silently faithfully listened to the babble of his master.

"Sir, this is your book." Yes, George has a habit of reading books before and after sleep. Zack's task was done, he was about to get out of the room but, his steps came to a halt when...

"Have you found it?" George suddenly asked. Zack turned his back to look at his master who was staring intently at him. He was not afraid to smile.

"Still in the works, Mr. George." The answer.

George closed the book and looked at the window.

"Hhm. ... Oho! Tell Chef Bardy. I want half-cooked salmon for the afternoon meal."

"Good, Sir. I will convey. Anything else?" Ask

"No! Come out. The more talk, the more dizzy my head" he answered sniffly while still looking at the window. Zack just smiled and walked out of the room.

Tap.Stamp!

Zack walked over with a horrible smiling face. The other maidservants who were looking were astonished but, they did not dare to ask. Zack's expression was truly terrifying as if he was tempering anger.

"Look at it later. I'll pay your respects, serpentess! Life must be avenged with life!"

A young boy was walking cheerfully despite the rather hot weather, holding a new toy in his right hand and a packet of cake in his left. He was accompanied by his beloved grandmother who walked behind him with a smile.

Not only that, many new customers order their chocolate pastries and jams. Surely Lynn will get even more money.

Although tired, Lynn still enjoyed it. Moreover, he was always accompanied by his grandson making cakes.

Chequek!

Lynn opens the door and Raka goes straight in and settles down on the floor.

"Huh! So tired. But we have a lot of money." Lynn just nodded. His hands were busy tidying up the things he was carrying.

Then, Lynn approached her granddaughter who was still lying on the floor. "This is a bonus for Raka. Thank you for helping my grandmother."

Lynn gave money to Raka. He knew his grandson loved to save.

Raka immediately woke up and sat watching the money her grandmother gave her. "Mom, I'll take a little. Grandma gave me so much. The money that my grandmother used to love is still there. Anyways... I eat my grandmother's cake every day."

Lynn shook her head. "Don't say that. This money is indeed Grandma set aside for you".

"Grandmother forgot? Grandma's gonna have to buy me some drugs that don't come cheap." Raka moved away, she wouldn't take it.

Lynn finally shut up and looked at her grandson's sweet smiling face at her.

Grep's!

Lynn hugged him while rubbing his hair. "Grandmother's promise. Grandma will work harder. Sorry, you've been suffering."

Raka unraveled her embrace and raised her head to look at her grieving grandmother.

"Don't work alone. I want to help Grandma too. If Grandma does soy sauce and gets sick, who's gonna make me a delicious snack?"

"Thank you yaa. You always loved Grandma. Yes, we work and work together. Well, now shower and change."

"Hc. Grandma too yaa."

"Raka first."

"okay"

He also rushed to the bathroom. When making sure she was in the bathroom, Lynn placed her grandson's favorite strawberry cake on the dining table. But, it's still wrapped neatly. He wanted to surprise his grandson.

Raka was out of the bathroom, Lynn immediately waltzed in with a smile. Raka who saw it did not feel suspicious at all. He knows that Lynn is happy today.

Lynn is done with the shower. He saw his grandson writing in his room.

"Time to eat."  Raka immediately turned to the source of the voice.

"Okay, just a second." He said while tidying up his stationery.

Right now, they were already sitting in the living room. Raka watched the square box on her dining table.

"Open up" said Lynn. Raka said nothing and opened it. When it opens, its eyes glaze over.

"Mr... This..when did grandma buy it?" Ask

Lynn smiled. "Surprise! It's a gift for a diligent and kind-hearted granddaughter."

Hicks! Hicks!

Raka was crying. "Thank you, grandma. I finally got to eat my favorite strawberry cake. I really want to."

"And now it is in your hands. Let's eat."

"I want to eat it but, not alone. We'll eat together, Grandma."

They also eat voraciously while occasionally joking. Lynn hopes this happiness continues until the end of her life. There was a lot of bitterness that he had to swallow.

8 years ago, Lynn was left behind by her husband due to heart disease and struggled to raise money to pay a small amount of debt.

She owes it to her stingy cousin for the cost of her husband's surgery and treatment.

His two? They are busy with their own world.

Puk!

Raka patted his arm slowly. Lynn immediately regained consciousness from her daydream.

"Why not spend the cake?" Lynn asked as she saw the cake still remaining.

"Grandmother why stop? We eat it together." Raka said while pouting.

"Look... Grandma's old, can't eat a lot of cake. So, Raka just spend it yaa"

Raka nodded and continued eating. After eating, they cleaned the house and chatted until night.

Lynn decided to take a few days off to play with her granddaughter.

"Hmmmm.... It's interesting this time I see a human with a very unique eye color. But, seeing the color of his eyes I remembered someone. Who yeah???" Said a man while looking at the result of his image.
