Trapped in My Husband's Revenge

Trapped in My Husband's Revenge
Chapter 59. Farewell

Maura POV

...🍀🍀🍀...

I don't know how I feel about Bryan Seager Xander, the Dutch-Jakarta man. I am not a stupid woman who is not sensitive to someone's feelings, I know Mr. Bryan is paying attention to me, he helps me not without reason for sure there is a reason.

There's no way he's helping selflessly, there's definitely something he wants, right?

At first I didn't know his feelings for me, good manners, attention, often he gave me a code that I didn't understand. Until I overheard her conversation with Evan's brother and there it was clear that the man was in love with me. Today I felt clearly that feeling, when she came to my house with flowers and chocolates that I liked. Does he like me? Clearly my heart is pounding because of this treatment. Honestly, I was touched.

Arriving in front of the police station, I got out of the car and saw Bryan also come down from the car. What's he want? I asked in my heart.

"Sir, why did you come down too?" I was amazed to see it.

"I'll wait for you here" said the man to me with a hopeful and honest look I was so overwhelmed by the handsome man's gaze within his blue eyes.

"No need sir, you have to work and you are busy. You better leave," I told Bryan, I don't want to bother him anymore. I thought to end his feelings that I couldn't reply to.

I saw the man shake his head, "I'll be here" he told me.

I felt something different from her gaze this time, the warm tone of voice and again making my heart thump. However, I decided to tell him that I wanted to give clarity. My heart, can't accept anyone else getting in there yet. Even I was trying to get Bara out of my heart and it was hard. I can't accept new people yet. "Sir, please don't be too kind to me. I can't accept your kindness, I can't repay you and I don't want to give you hope, because I can't give you anything."

I saw her forehead wrinkled and her eyes squinted, I thought she might have understood what I told her. Then he smiled at me, "Don't say that, don't tell me you can't reply. It's okay, I'll stay here, you just need to come."

I was pounding again, my heart was like it was at war. Hearing her words that were so romantic intoxicated my mind, touching this dark space of my heart. My mouth was muddled, I was at a loss for words in an instant. Reflexes, my body turned back to the man who was looking at me with the nanar. Whatever he wants to think, in fact I'm not ready and hopefully he understands what I mean.

My feet have stepped into the prison where Bara was because I was curious to turn my back to see him.

My eyes choked! Apparently he's still there, is he really waiting for me? Oh, never mind, I let it go. Maybe he will leave, I thought in my heart.

I reached the prison, and I saw Bara walking towards me with a prison guard. He sat down in front of me, smiling kindly at his lips.

"Good morning Maura, how are you?" I heard Bara's soft voice greeting me and asking for news.

Surprisingly I did not feel any thumping at all when I heard his warm voice. Whereas in the past, I was always excited when Bara greeted me, now I no longer feel all that!

"Alhamdulillah I am good," I replied without asking back.

I saw his face battered, there was compassion in my heart for him. It seems that he got a reply in prison, arghh..I thought about what the hell? Karma does not exist!

"Thank God you're okay,"

Immediately I handed him the divorce papers he had to sign, so that everything would be sorted out quickly. I have a ballpoint pen next to the document I signed. "Please sign, but if you want to read, you can. It's just that I don't have long to go to work."

His hand picked up the ballpoint pen that was beside the document. He signed it without much talking. I was surprised, why is it so easy? Before that, he didn't want to let me go?

I saw him smile bitterly, my heart how strange? My eyebrows shot up and my forehead wrinkled, revealing a confused reaction.

"Congratulations that we're divorced, Maura. I'm sorry, all this time I couldn't be a good husband to you. I'm a bastard, sorry..."

That apology he had said many times to me, but still the pain in this heart was still there. It was because he had made a big hole in my heart that my trust in love was also broken. I wondered, Will I be able to open my heart to another man?

Bara apologized to me, but I didn't answer. I was just busy tidying up the documents he had signed and rushing to get out of there. I'm sick of seeing Bara!

"Thank you for making it easier. After this I'll drop my charges and you'll be free." I said tell.

Bara sighed, at a glance I saw water pooling under his eyes. "Maura.. May I hug you one last time?"

My eyes widened with Bara's request, actually I was reluctant. But since he said it was the last time, I gave him permission.

"Yes, please."

Bara stood up from her seat, she came up to me and hugged me warmly and tightly. His hands gently touched my body, while I was swept away in his arms.

Not long after that she let go of her embrace, I thought this was done. However, he again grabbed my body, his hand grabbed my face. Then he buried his lips on mine.

Akh!!

I gasped, I could not escape the kiss. My intention was to push him, not because he had already let go of me and not lingered on kissing my lips.

I felt the wetness on my face, it came from her tears. "Mahr..."

"I'm sorry, I love you." Bara came closer to me and he kissed my forehead. Still Bara says love to me.

After signing the letter, Bara was released from prison and one month later we were officially divorced, right after going through 1 month of divorce.

We came out of the courthouse of the religious affairs office, down the steps of the building. I saw Bara not far from where I was standing, and there I saw Ghea and Bu Alya with him. I'm not alone either, I'm with my brother, my family's lawyer and Bryan.

"Let's Maura, let's celebrate your freedom." Brother Evan patted me on the shoulder.

"Yes right, I'll treat you." Bryan said with a smile to me.

But I was crying instead.
