~Home Abah~
My family reached Abah's house when we got there it turned out that my brother from Papa was busy preparing some dishes.
"Sir. Let me help you," I said when I was in the kitchen.
"Tari have you sit there no need to help us." Uwak yells.
Unlike usual they told me to relax and just sit around, because I felt happy there was no need to help them prepare dishes and help clean up the house. I went to the backyard to play my favorite game.
"Game on."
My cousin Devan approached me sitting down. Devan is the son of my number one Uwak.
Devan is younger than me, but still his status in the family. He is my brother, because he is my uwak.
Me and Devan finally Mabar or playing with our favorite online game.
"Woi help dong, help me how the hell."
We were so excited to play a game together without feeling a car entering the yard of my brother's house.
The car is long-shaped black and has a three-point logo in the middle.
"It looks like Abah's guest has already come."
Devan and I stopped our game and we both went straight into the house.
Inside the house, a variety of dishes are available at the dining table. We were going to have lunch with the guest.
Abah was already standing on the porch of the house to welcome the guests who came. Two cars parked in the yard. Guests got out one by one from the car.
Mama nudged my shoulder and I scrunched my forehead.I don't know why my mama seemed so excited about her face.
Especially when a young man got off the white sedan. Mama's face was radiant and she pushed my body so much that I stood right next to Abah.
"Welcome home." Welcome Abah to a man who seems to be the same age as her.
They both shake hands. It seems like a relationship between the two of them. Usut had the mouth of a man who shook hands with Abah was a friend while sitting in elementary school.
What a very close friendship. Rarely do children today have friends who are very familiar and can be in a relationship for very long.
Abah came towards me and his friend saw me.
"This must be Mentari" he said, looking at me.
"Truely this is my youngest granddaughter Mentari, as well as the last woman I will marry at this very advanced age of mine."
Abah spoke with a hint of laughter on her lips. Looking at the two of them, it seems like this is not my first meeting with Abah's best friend.
"This is my grandson. His name is Kenzi. His nickname is Ken."
The man introduced his granddaughter to all of us. He seems to love his grandson so much. Very visible from his face and his gentle gaze.
"Let's go inside. My wife and children have prepared the cuisine to your liking."
"There's pumpkin mists and Pete's grilled?" ask the man to Abah.
Their luxurious car did not reflect the arrogant rich family like on the television I used to watch.
we all went inside the house and some of the guests sat on the sofa benches that were available in the living room.
Abah and her best friend's family were so happy that little was spoken of as more laughter came out of their lips.
The miss between them seems to have paid off. Today's meeting means so much to them. Some good memories of the past while they were in school are told all today.
"Remember not our promise just yet. If we're gonna match up one of our family members?" The man who was Abah's best friend reminded them of their promise.
"Remember. So today we just decide when the application." He immediately welcomed with open arms.
It looks like Abah is very excited to discuss it but, who will be betrothed? I see there's only a young man sitting there like he's not married. The others I saw were old.
In my family there were no women left to marry. Because Abah's son is married all but Uwakku number two. She's a two-child widow. There is no way that Uwak will be married. What can't-don't I? Since then, guests have come. My mother has been aggressive once, but there is no way I am still a teenager not ready to build a household.
"Start." Abah called my name with a heavy voice.
I immediately stopped my guessing thoughts and went straight to my side.
"It's Mentari. He's still in college. She's only twenty-one years old, but she can cook and take care of the house." Abah introduced me like he was promoting a product.
"It's a great match for my grandson Kenzi. He's an established man despite his young age. Kenzi is twenty-three years old. They're only two years different." Grandpa Handoko introduced her granddaughter.
I put my two eyebrows together. I started to feel like my fear was about to happen. The marriage between man and woman and the marriage plan will be carried out soon.
"Then when are you going to propose to Mentari, Ken?" Abah asked the young man who had been sitting firmly on the sofa.
"For a proposal, we'd better make it today. Kenzi in the next few weeks will go to Bali. Coming back from Bali. We're going to have a wedding." A woman who seemed like her age was not much different from her mother began to talk.
I really don't understand why this could happen to me. Mom and Dad knew that I had a boyfriend who was as smart as I was and that he was working and was working on his script.
I looked at a very wrinkled face. I don't accept being set up like this. I want to marry my own choice that suits my heart.
The man in front of me is like a dry canoebo. Since then he has only been silent when it concerns the future of both of us. He should have rejected this match. Not even diem ajah like people more thrush.
Satisfied looking at the man who is like a statue of Pancoran. I let myself step down and go to the side room where my cousins are gathered.
"So how? Haven't you got the ring yet?" ask my cousin.
I looked at him full of question marks. They all seem to know what is going to happen today.
"Do you know?" my question is full of search.
They even looked at each other. I am increasingly suspicious of their behavior.
They then nodded. It's true that I guessed that they all knew and hid this from me. I was very upset and very weak at the same time with this difficult situation.
"I don't want to marry young." My Assertiveness.
"Udah wedlock. My sister also married young. Look at all of our lives. Normal, even happy. The socialite mothers. House is the same maid. We stay relaxed while taking care of the kids and the husband." Oceh my cousin's sister.
It is true that their lives have changed and become happier. However, the definition of marriage I crave is not like this. I don't accept being set up.
