Chapter 28. Andi's Travel

Fahri had just finished his task, when he returned to the Office House he saw his mother was still there. Hari has returned to Palembang with Fabian.

"Loh, I think Mama has returned to Palembang" said Fahri.

"Mama still wants to be here, Bang. Have you called Caca?" ask Risma.

"Don't bring Ma's phone, this is why Abang hastily entered because it was the same miss Caca. Mama why is it so moody?"

Risma did not answer her son's question, she immediately cried hugging Fahri. Risma just got a call from Rini that Andi's body has been found.

"Andi's dead, Bang. His body has just been found, he was buried by landslides after time to help evacuate the victims." explained Mama Risma.

Fahri jolted, his body limp as if boneless. Memories with his best friend kept spinning in his head. Starting from their introduction during education to duty. Really, Fahri did not expect that Andi would leave him this soon. Due to getting free time for 3 days, Fahri decided to follow Febri and Gisya to Magelang.

Meanwhile, Febri tries to strengthen himself. After getting word that Andi had been found, Febri immediately went to the scene. When the police opened one of the body bags, Febri saw Andi's face. Without hearing the police ban, Febri hugged Andi's body.

"Mas, why did you leave me Mas? We're getting married in two weeks! Why is it like this?!" shouts Febri.

All who were there shed their tears upon hearing Febri's words. The police force Febri out of there, Febri back unconscious. Mama Rini could not bear the pain in his heart, seeing his favorite daughter continued to cry roaring and then returned unconscious.

For days Febri would not eat anything. Same with Andi's parents. They were devastated by Andi's departure. Now Andi's body has been buried in the Dinas House that Andi occupied. The body will be taken to Semarang for military burial. While at the House of Service, Febri was never far from the coffin of her future husband's body. Gisya has also received news, if Fahri is currently on a plane to Magelang.

Rizal asks Febri to rest in Andi's room. Actually Febri refused, but Rizal continued to force her into Andi's room. Because actually, Rizal wants to show how much Febri means in Andi's life.

"Bak rest in this room, there Ma'am will know how much Mas Andi loves you" said Rizal.

Gisya accompanies Febri to enter Andi's room. The two of them were both shocked and looked at each other with teary eyes.

The room was not big, even small. But Andi neatly arranged everything, photos when Andi proposed to Febri on display there. Even the photos of Febri are neatly arranged on a sterofoam sheet attached to the wall with the inscription 'Life Motivation'. Febri walked slowly towards the table, he saw the identification necklace on behalf of Andi and the couple ring they were wearing. Not to forget 3 pieces of letters to Febri, Fahri and his parents. Febri shed his tears, it felt like he still could not believe that Andi had left him far away.

Febri asks Gisya to leave her alone.

"Ca, can I stay alone? I want to be together with Mas Andi for the last time." pinta Febri while hugging tightly Andi photo.

"Yaudah, if there's anything call me yes. I'm at the door." replied Gisya.

After Gisya left, Febri picked up Loreng's uniform bearing Andi's name hanging beside the closet. He laid his body while tightly hugging the clothes of his lover. Febri cried without a sound, his world felt very shattered. Dream of building a Household with Andi extinct already. Febri has known Andi for almost 3 years in cyberspace, they are open to each other and take care of each other. However, they had just met but fate was toying with them.

Fahri just got to Dinas House. He is greeted by his colleagues, including Rizal. When he met Fahri, Rizal's tears that had been held back had finally dripped as well.

"Oh, don't cry. Release his departure. If he knows you're crying, he'll punish you" Fahri said.

"I'd rather be punished Bang, than be like this."

"This is already our consequence as a State Servant! Refresh your heart!" pinta Fahri's.

He went into the House, saw Andi's coffin covered by the Red and White flag with a photo of Andi on it. Fahri paid his last respects to his best friend. Fahri also approached Andi's parents and hugged them.

"Thank you, Father and Mother have taken good care of Andi. I'm a witness to Andi's happiness when you adopted her. Andi always wanted to be proud of Father and Mother. Now that you and I have to let Andi go, he died of kindness." Fahri said.

"We loved Andi very much, even though they were not our biological children. InshaAllah, we have let him go."

Fahri then approached Gisya who was crying in front of the door of Andi's room. Seeing Fahri there, Gisya slammed into Fahri's arms. His heart ached when he saw Febri crying hugging Andi's clothes.

"Have not cried, let him let go of his longing. This isn't easy for all of us." Said Fahri while rubbing Gisya's head.

"The secret life of God, Deck. No one knows when death will come for us. Brother is actually scared of Dek. Brother is afraid to leave you and even incised a wound. I don't want to see you cry like this."

"The gate must promise. Whatever happens in the future, you will continue to fight for your life. Brother must remember, Adek will always wait for the return of Brother."

Fahri just nodded his head.

They are now on their way to Semarang. Febri, Fahri, Gisya and Andi's parents are in the hearse. Febri continued to hug her future husband's chest, while looking at the picture frame above the chest.

"Are you all right, Biw?" gisya asked because he saw Febri's body start to limp.

"It's too hypocritical that I say I'm all right" Febri said.

"The most painful parting is death, son. But the highest point of loving is to love. You know it's not easy, but please be strong. Andi will feel heavy if you are like this." said Mr. Burhan.

"InshaAllah I'm sincere Sir, but I miss. Our meeting and farewell were too short. But the memories and feelings of love that Mas Andi left behind are too long."

2 Hours drive, make Febri sleep on the casket. Febri felt that he was currently asleep in Andi's arms. Fahri and Gisya also dissolve in their respective minds. After conducting the Military Funeral ceremony, Commander Kodim now gives condolences.

"The departure of Lettu Andi, made us lose a child of the best nation. Who always uphold the principles of struggle and are loyal to the NKRI. We convey the highest appreciation accompanied by a sincere do'a. May the deceased be received by God's side, and may the families left behind be granted fortitude and strength."

One by one the mourners had left the tomb. But Febri was still reluctant to get out of his seat. He continued to wipe the headstone that read 'Lienan Satu Andi Faturachman'. Febri no longer cared about his dirty clothes. Gisya and Fahri allow Febri to let go of his longing there.

"Of all the pain I've ever had, this is the most stifling taste. The brief encounter we went through, it's all still spinning in my memory. I'm sincere about your departure, but I miss you Mas. I miss waiting for news from you, I miss you telling me about your activities. Is the last message you gave me a sign of Mas?"

Gisya was stunned, he recalled back when they drove Andi to the station.

He remembered that if Andi asked Febri to always pray for him, he also remembered Andi's last words to him.

"I picked Dinda up, Gisya. Please don't let him cry thinking of me"

Those were the last words Andi said to Gisya.

Gisya and Fahri leave Febri alone, waiting at one of the flower stands. As it was almost night, Febri got up from his seat.

"Mas, I'm going home first. Tomorrow I come back here to make you. Don't worry, I'll always pray for you."

"Now I understand your wish at that time, and I do not regret everything. I'm happy to be a part of your life."

"One day, there'll be a day I'll find you. Where all these sobs stop on their own. Wait for me there, Mas. God does not unite us in the world, but someday God will unite us in the hereafter."

"O Allah, please open my heart to receive whatever You have designed and given me. For verily, what You have given me is surely the best."
