When I Give Up

When I Give Up
Chapter 11 A New Secretary

Three years later.

"Three years of Praja. It's time to open your heart to others, son" said Dewinta with a serious face to his son.

Praja Wijaya sighed then smiled.

"I've tried ma." The man sipped the warm tea that was in front of him.

"But unfortunately I can't" he continued blankly to the garden in front of their porch.

"Justa Joseph may be able to treat your wounds Praja. Or Fika, they're both good girls."

"Content ma. It's hard to start a relationship again. I don't think I'll be able to open my heart." Praja sighed again. His spirit of life is now gone. Twice failed to get happiness with two sisters it feels like it has made him numb.

Dewinta took her breath. He was so sad that the son no longer wanted a relationship.

What about the descendants of the Wijaya family? Will it go extinct so soon?

Oh no, he wouldn't be willing for this to happen.

The woman began to think of finding another mate for the son. Suddenly his attention was turned to the front.

"Ah who's that coming?" ask Praja when he saw a car entering their yard.

"Selfina Ma's. My secretary at the company." Praja answered while waiting for the girl to get off the red car. He was very familiar with the girl's car.

Dewinta is waiting. He was also curious about the girl he said was a secretary.

"Assalamualaikum Sir. Ma." Selfina saluted then greeted two people who were sitting casually on the front porch of the luxury house.

"Waalaikumussalam," replied Dewinta and Praja together. Dewinta looked at the girl from top to bottom with a smile on her face.

Not fit into the criteria

His words in the heart.

"Sit Fin," Praja said, pointing to the empty seat in front of her.

"Thank you sir." Selfina sat with a very happy face.

"Sorry sir, I interrupted his time. Investors from Jakarta just contacted me to ask to meet with my father at a place" she continued.

"Oh, sir Maher? But why did you bother to come here, Fin. You can call." Praja straightened her back. He looked at the awkward looking Selfina.

"I happen to want to go out and find the wind, Mr. Hehehe. So it doesn't matter if I came here on purpose."

"Well, that's right. Sometimes if we are tired and tired of the state of the house, we need to go out to see a new atmosphere." Dewinta chimed in with the intention of insinuating Praja who seemed necessary to see the outside world and forget painful memories with his wife.

"Eh, drink the tea son Fin," continued Dewinta invite the new secretary.

"Ah, aunty, thank you very much." Selfina smile. He also grabbed a cup of tea that had just been poured red liquid by Dewinta.

"When does Mr Maher want to see Fin?"

"Tomorrow mornings sir around 10am at the Grand Prix Hotel."

"Ah yes. You can accompany me Fin if you have time" Praja smiled. The new secretary smiled back. He certainly wanted to come even if Praja Wijaya did not call him.

"Ah yes sir. God willing I have no activities tomorrow morning."

"Ah yes okay. I'll pick you up at 9 in the morning. And sorry, there's something I have to do inside. You don't mind if you're here with Nana?" Praja stood up from her seat. He prefers to be alone in his room on weekends like this.

"Ah yes sir. Please." Selfina welcomes with an uncomfortable face. Heart disappointed. He deliberately came to the house to meet Praja Wijaya to be more familiar.

"Let's have Fina tasted again."

"Ah yes aunt thank you very much. The cake's good." Selfina bit the piece of cake and praised it.

"By the way Mr Praja likes to eat what aunty?" ask the girl again.

"Oh that's aunty. So if I offered to cook today, would you?"

"Huh? You want to cook?" asked Dewinta with a shocked face in disbelief. Today there are girls want to go to the kitchen as a hobby it feels very lacking.

"Yes aunt. I'm not busy so I can fill the time by cooking for Pak Praja."

The word person from the tongue comes to the heart, and that is what he is trying to put into practice at this time to get the heart of Praja Wijaya.

"Then, let's go to the kitchen. We can cook now to prepare lunch."

The two women entered the house and headed straight for the kitchen. Dewinta is very confident that this girl can be a medicine for the son.

"Eh, Fin are you still here?" praja asked as she entered the dining room for lunch.

"Yes sir. I deliberately cooked for my father. And hope you like it" replied Selfina with a smile on her face.

"I like all food but if Ardina's cooking I'd like it more."

"Ardina? Who is he sir? ART in this house, sir?"

"Not Fin." Dewinta quickly replied.

"Ardina is Praja's ex-wife."

"Ma, not an ex but still a wife."

Praja no less quickly interrupted the words of the mother. He does not like to admit that Ardina is an ex because he feels he has never been and deliberately to part with the woman.

While Selfina immediately felt her heart crumble. He already knew the answer about the effort he had been doing all this time.

Dewinta sighed then looked at the son who was also looking at her.

"I'm sorry Mama Praja. Mama just wants you to open your heart to another woman, son."

"Ah please taste the food pack, I am sure that this food will be very suitable with the tongue of the father." Selfina quickly switched the conversation because she did not want to know more about Praja Wijaya's feelings for his wife who was very far away from life.

"Ah yes Fin, I tried it it looks good," said Praja then tasted the food that is still warm.

"Hum, delicious. You can open a culinary business here. You're a cook." Praja chewed the food without stopping praising. Selfina smiled happily. Dewinta also came. The two women looked at each other and raised their thumbs.

"Let's go eat. There's a new chef in our house" Dewinta called when she saw her husband just entering the dining room. Alif Wijaya glanced at the beautiful girl standing beside the son.

"Alhamdulillah then. Papa is very hungry now." The man grabbed the plate and filled it himself. After that it immediately gulped down cold white water from within the glass before him.

"Where is papa? How hungry and thirsty?" Dewinta looked at her husband's face with a peeking look.

"Ah not from anywhere. I made an appointment with an old friend somewhere. And uh we didn't have time to eat because there was an incident of a toddler falling into the pool." Alif Wijaya answered and then bribed the food into his mouth after reading the bismillah.

"Astaghfirullah's. How could pa? Very careless of his parents. How about Pa? Congratulations no?"

"Alhamdulillah congratulations. Luckily there was papa there."

"So? Papa who nolongin?" Praja also curious about the news brought by the papa. He even stopped eating.

"Yes. There was a good thing papa could still swim despite being old like this hehehe," chuckled the middle-aged man.

"God, thank God, then pa." Everyone was grateful for what the man had done.

"Yes, Alhamdulillah." Alif Wijaya continued eating with a faint smile on her face.
