When I Give Up

When I Give Up
Chapter 61 Your Smile Refreshes

"Assalamualaikum father mother of the board of directors. I'm sorry I came a little late" Yudha said to the important guests who were sitting waiting for her.

"Waalaikumussalam," answered everyone in the room at the same time. They immediately stood up to greet the president's arrival with a smile on their faces.

"Please sit down, father," said Yudha, allowing all his guests to sit back. He also sat in his chair.

"Sorry Mr. Yudha, we came early in the morning without making an appointment first" said Anton Paris, a middle-aged man of the same age as Maher Abdullah, the father.

"Ah that's not a big deal. If you can know what's going on? Looks like there's something important that mom and dad want to say."

"Just go ahead, Yudha. We have come to ask for confirmation of the farewell event that the company held at a resort last night" Farah Zubir said.

"Oh that one? What kind of confirmation would the mother and father of the board of directors want?" yudha asked casually. He never suspected that the event he did contained controversy in some people.

"About the funds that Mr. Yudha used at the farewell event of one of the employees in this company. We think it's huge. Imagine the hundreds of employees you invite in such an expensive place. It can make the company a deficit sir," said Budi Sarman at length.

The other board of directors justifies. They all nodded their heads.

"Yes, Mr. Yudha, that's right. Sorry, we shouldn't be doing this right now. Usually on year-end accountability reports our company critiques this. But because we care about the company's progress, yes we are criticized now before Mr. Yudha uses other larger funds without considering its usefulness," anton Paris completes all of his colleagues fellow board members.

Yudha smiled. He took a breath and prepared to explain what he had done, but the door of his room was suddenly knocked from outside. Everyone including himself looked at the door.

An OB was standing there carrying a tray of drinks delivered by Selfina, his secretary.

"Sorry sir, we are disturbing" said Selfina, asking the OB to put drinks and snacks in front of the table of the guests.

"Thank you Fina for the drink, what a coincidence, I'm really thirsty again" said Budi Sarman without letting go of his gaze at Selfina who was helping the OB. It seems that the man is very interested in Selfina.

"Sama-sama sir. Please enjoy," the girl replied with her charming smile.

"Pastilah. The drink instantly refreshes the throat. Moreover, plus a smile mbak Selfina wuih more delicious, hehehe," kekeh the man while sipping a cold drink that had just been placed in front of his desk.

"Ah sir Budi could have. Please Mrs Farah, Mr. Anton. I'm back at my desk, excuse me." Selfina smiled again then prepared to walk out of the room. But Budi Sarman did not allow him to come out.

"Not going anywhere, Fin. Just here. Itung-itung adds freshness to the President's room of directors. Is that Mr Yudha?"

"Selfina has a lot of work outside Budi sir, sorry sir. The main affairs of the fathers and mothers of the directors have nothing to do with my secretary."

Budi looks disappointed. While Selfina was very familiar with the words of the arrogant director's person. Moreover, the man's eyes looked as if they were raining down on his heart.

"Excuse me mom, I have an important job right now."

Selfina immediately stepped out of the room quickly. He felt that Yudha's sharp gaze at him seemed to want to swallow him whole.

Yudha heaved a sigh of relief then cleared her throat so that the attention of all her guests could be centered on her.

"Okay, mother, I will answer your concerns. The big event I had for the breakup with Ms. Ardina was purely my personal fund. There is no connection with the company's one rupiah fund!" yudha Abdullah relaxed.

Everyone in the room was in disbelief.

"Really?" ask Anton Paris stuttered.

"Well, that's absolutely right. Ms. Ardina deserves it. He has done a lot for me personally" Yudha smiled.

Yes, he was very meritorious for bringing SELFINA to me.

That's how his heart says🤭.

"But isn't it because of that woman that Mr. Maher is in jail right now?" farah Zubir asked with her widowed eyes.

Yudha no longer needed to answer. He has the right to be silent and keep what he needs to keep.
