Deya patiently taught Zahra to learn. Zahra who is smart like her father easily accepts the information Deya gives. He immediately worked on the lessons quickly.
"You're so smart why not just go to public school?" ask Deya. Zahra stopped the writing movement. And then close the book. His head was lowered inside.
"Because you're ashamed of your condition?" Zahra was getting riled up, she was playing with her nails. Deya who saw then held Zahra's hand and cupped her into one.
"I don't think you ever went to school and knew how good it was to go to school."
"Before everything changes," replied Zahra staring at Deya. There are many wounds there that Zahra keeps.
"Before I got sick and before I put on this goddamn wheelchair."
Deya. He hugged Zahra and rubbed her head.
At the door of the room Mama Claudia sees Deya and Zahra's interaction. Her.
"If you want to cry, just cry. It can ease the pain you feel. The child must express their taste so that the parents know what he wants."
"Don't be ashamed, you can think of me as anything you want, friend, sister, teacher or..," Deya hesitated to say her last word, "mother. We can tell you a lot and I'll keep you company."
Slowly I heard the sobs of Zahra. His thin body trembled.
"Don't tell dad I'm crying, you're going to be sad" Zahra said. Wiping her tears.
"So you're afraid to cry because you don't want to see you sad?" ask Deya. "Good boy but it's not good for yourself. A child is obliged to whine and be spoiled to his parents." Deya said it with a funny expression that made Zahra laugh while wiping her tears.
Mama Claudia was crying. Edward, who wanted to see his mother peek, joined in as well. His mother signaled Edward to hide.
"But won't it trouble you later?"
"Not because your father will know what you want. Your honesty is important to him. You know why?" Zahra shook her head. "The reason for your happiness is your father's happiness. He can see you happy or not from your eyes if you're lying then he's also sad because he feels you don't believe him."
"Is it like that?"
"So it's okay if I cry?"
"Yes, it's a common thing that kids your age do, laughing, crying, asking and sulking are also spoiled."
"If you are sad how?"
"That's a sign she loves you and cares about you." Zahra nodded, understood. "You don't have to pretend to be an adult just to please your father. Just stay by yourself and say what you want but still listen to the parents' advice."
Zahra hugged Deya. "Can I tell my sister anything?"
"Of course."
Deya gently rubbed Zahra's hair.
Mama Claudia and Edward looked at each other.
"Your instinct was right to bring her here." Mama Claudia rubbed the corners of her wet eyes. He is not ignorant of the complexity of Edward's domestic problems, just does not want to see Zahra getting depressed because of her parents' problems. Zahra desperately needs the support of her parents. It can happen if the child and his son-in-law suppress their respective egos.
Half an hour later they sat at a long dinner table. For the first time in his life Deya took part in a dinner banquet. Clumsy and anxious if you make a mistake begin to enter his body. He stared at everyone, following everything they did.
In front of him were different types of spoons and knives, he did not know which one to choose. Edward, who was sitting next to her, held Deya's hand under the table, squeezing it. As if to tell him not to be nervous.
A waiter came in with a small portion of a dish in front of everyone. The look is beautiful just that Deya thinks whether eating it alone can fill her stomach that is used to eating heavy. Deya grimacing.
"Why?" ask Mama Claudia.
"I've never eaten food like this before" Deya said bluntly he did not care if it was said village. She had refused to eat with the family but everyone forced her.
"Don't add because there will be some dishes later, your stomach will not fit" said Edward in a soft voice. It was like keeping a distance from Deya.
They started eating quietly. Edward taught her what to do without anyone knowing.
"How much longer is your internship?" ask Mama Claudia.
"Two months are over."
"That's to say Brother is only two months here?" ask Zahra.
"It looks like it" Deya replied looking at Edward.
"If you're comfortable with him, you can ask Deya to extend his service here" Edward said.
"I want Brother Deya to keep me company."
"If Nak Deya wanted to, he must have been busy with his studies, too" continued Papa Adam.
Zahra bent her face. "Can't you keep me company?"
"We'll see you later, Zahra. Maybe you can set it up with a college schedule."
"You hear? Now we eat quietly. Talk about it later after eating." Edward gave that answer making Zahra speechless.
True what Edward said if there would be some other food after the appetizer made Deya's stomach full.
"It's the night I should go home" Deya said.
"Not just stay over?" ask Zahra. Deya just smiled.
"Take the driver home."
"No, ma'am, let me just order a taxi online."
"Eh, dangerous for girls, let Mr. Sobri deliver." At the same time Edward's phone rang and he picked it up.
"Hallo, Aya," Edward said via video link.
"Ed, can I give Zahra the phone, I want to talk to her?" soraya said that was heard throughout the room because Edward deliberately hardened it so that everyone heard.
"In the meantime," Edward handed Zahra the phone.
"Mom, when are you coming home?" ask Zahra to Soraya.
"Not yet, son. I'm still filming in Beijing maybe in a week's time, new mom's in Indonesia."
"Well, it's still a long time dong."
"I'm sorry if you're disappointed" Soraya said.
"It's okay, ma'am," said Zahra sighing.
"Darling, is Oma there?" asked Soraya who saw some people in the room.
"Mom, I go first," Deya told Mama Claudia, not wanting to hear more interaction between Soraya and the Edward family. He feels uncomfortable.
"There's Oma, Opa, that's my new friend, uh, Brother Deya want to go?" Deya who was preparing to leave stopped her steps. He's in a position to turn his back on the camera phone. He didn't know he had to turn around or keep walking away.
