Chapters. 97 Deepest Regrets

"Yes, I'm so tired of all this. I wanted to end it all three years ago but you made a big drama. I gave up even having to lose the person I love and love because he left me."

"She again, did you find him so you wanted to throw me away again? Isn't it enough everything I do to pay for all my mistakes?" said Soraya trembling.

"Sorry, Aya. We'll only hurt each other if we keep together."

"No, Ed, I don't want to part with you, please."

"Everybody will say not ready if they have not lived it. In fact, we rarely meet even you feel ordinary. We're together just for Zahra. Now he knows what is good and what is not. She lives with you or I'm the same thing because our love and affection remain for her."

"Ed..," call Soraya desperate and frustrated. Her tears are falling, flowing.

"I've given this relationship a chance. In fact, I can't forget your betrayal and I can't remove Deya's shadow from my heart either. Again, sorry. I'm gonna end it. I'm just here to hang out with Zahra."

Edward left Soraya who roared loudly crying over everything that happened.

Zahra herself sat on the bedside after hearing her father and mother quarrel downstairs.

Edward knocked on the door, staring at Zahra who was sitting down.

"You haven't slept?" ask Edward. Zahra shook her head.

"I miss sleeping with Dad."

Edward smiled and walked closer. Sitting next to Zahra. The boy leaned his head on his father.

"How long haven't I been doing this?" zahra. Edward breathed.

"Dad, I'm sorry if it sounds selfish, just being in this house feels like hell to Dad. So you know, I can't stay in this house for long."

"I get it, I'm the one who kept Dad here, right?" Edward smiled at his son. He grew older than his age after everything that happened in his life.

"However you're Dad's priority until whenever."

Zahra looked at her father and hugged Edward tightly. "Would you have another child, you'd forget me?"

"Of course not. You were the first in my life because you taught me to be a good Dad. You're the first one to call me Dad, you're the one who makes Dad's world more colorful, you know what it's like to be a Dad, you know what it's like to be loved and needed by his son, then how did everything you first felt make you forget you."

Zahra cried in Edward's chest. "I love you Dad."

"Dad too dear, Zahra. I'll always be there for Zahra when Zahra needs me."

Edward kissed Zahra's head inside. He actually did not have the heart to do this just that his unhappy home life would even make the child's psychic and mental growth is not good. Happy parents make children happy too. Togetherness does not always make happiness, maybe even separation makes relationships that have deteriorated will improve. Thought Edward.

"I want Dad to read me a fairy tale again before going to bed" Zahra said. Edward nodded. As they lay down, Edward picked up a book in the corner drawer of the room. The book is obsolete. An old book she used to read to her little daughter.

Edward lay down on Zahra's side. He started reading the fairy tale, just for a moment, Zahra again cried sobbing hugging his father. Edward put the book down and rubbed his son's back. Occasionally pecking his head. They're silent. Just talk in your heart.

Zahra's embrace described her grief and fear of parting with Edward who could not be spoken with words. This time he did not want to be selfish. He used to think that if his father was no longer with Deya, then he, his father and mother could live happily again. Now he knows, it's not Deya's sister who's wrong on this. However, there is no match in the relationship between his father and mother. Although repaired still will not unite.

"Can I stay with you?" zahra's question surprised Edward.

"But if you mind it's okay?" Zahra thought her father would be back together with Deya and her son so did not want to be bothered with Zahra's presence. The child's heart ached as soon as he wanted to understand about it but it still hurt.

"Of course you can come with me wherever I go. Is it just that Zahra will accept Dad's new life?" ask Edward.

"God has always loved me and loved me" replied Zahra.

"If you want to be like that, you can come live with me. It's just we're gonna live in a little apartment."

"Our old sister Deya?"

Edward nodded, reading his son's mind. Zahra.

"If Deya's sister comes back does she accept me?"

"Of course why not? Doesn't he love you so much?"

Zahra shed her tears again. Edward felt something was wrong here.

"What's wrong? Tell Dad whatever you feel."

Zahra breathed. He was actually afraid to tell his father what happened before, afraid that his father would be angry. However, the guilt of making his father sad continues to overshadow Zahra's soul.

"Dad's promise wouldn't have been mad at Zahra if Zahra had told him everything?" tanyakanya.

"No, but you have to be honest and apologize if you're wrong."

"Actually when Zahra was in the hospital when her mother was injured by her father, Brother Deya came to Zahra." Edward's face suddenly turned pale.

"He apologized to Zahra, but Zahra was so angry that Brother Deya took Father from Zahra that Zahra asked Brother Deya to go away from Father" Zahra said.

Edward clenched his hands hard. Withstanding the rumbling in his chest. Closing the chest to relieve the anger that began to appear.

"Why do you think that?" ask Edward.

"Because.. because Dad was always with Deya and she forgot me" said Zahra.

"Dad will never leave you. I always come home the night I work and avoid seeing your mother. Do you know that Mom and Dad always fight? So I slept at your Deya sister's house. Parental problems are so complicated you don't have to know everything that's going on. However, it's Dad's fault that never met you when all that happened. So don't blame Deya because he never stopped me from meeting you." Zahra groaned loudly, cried, and felt regret.

"Dad knows how you feel, you're too small to understand any of this. I won't force you to understand. It's just that Deya's sister has proven that she prefers your happiness over her own. That means he loves you very much."

Edward's words made Zahra's cry even louder. "If you want, you should apologize to her if you meet. However, that's if you want to do it from the bottom of your heart because I'll never force anything on you if you don't want to."

"But one message from Dad. You need to know what you're doing so you can take responsibility for everything you've done."
