Chapter 57: Can't Just Shut Up

I stared at that horrible thing. I was so disgusted that I could not say a word and was just silenced. The more I looked at the more detail the more I felt helpless and the fear in my mind grew. Fear of such a horrible and painful death. Although I knew in the end everyone would experience it too and it had happened to me before.

But the fear of death never goes away, some people look like it too. Some of them ran as hard as they could to get away from here, but they were instead killed quickly. Witnessing the terrible thing, some people chose to stay in place while screaming hysterically.

I shook my head with all my might to alleviate my fear and glanced at the shock-looking Natte, she was now sitting limp on the ground, I could feel her hands being so cold and trembling.

I slowly held Natte's hand on my shoulder, but as I lowered my head to step away from the corpse, I realized that Prince Zio's magic was beginning to disappear from our sight.

"A-what happened?...." Lirih Natte while staring in disbelief towards the front. He covered his face with one hand as he did not want to see anything terrible.

"Natte..." I said while trying to strengthen himself.

"We're going to die too?!"

"No Natte, it won't... I'll protect you" I replied, biting my lower lip.

It seemed, saying that it made me feel even more cowardly because I had lied to Natte. Under these conditions even I can't protect anything and anyone including myself.

"You lied to Leca." said Natte as she moved from her position of shock.

"You're so lying, I know it's even just from your voice and your speech style, you're lying! We're all gonna die here!"

"Natte. calm down, why are you this sweet, I've never seen you like this before,"

Natte took her hand off my shoulder and looked at me with disappointed eyes, "My father was killed in front of me because of an attack like this, he tried to protect me, but he simply vanished from before me after saying that, I don't want to see that happen again, I don't want to see you die..." Natte shed her tears while hugging me tightly.

I was stunned, I had never seen Natte like this, she was always trying to look strong and haughty, but it turned out that she was so weak and fragile. I feel more guilty saying things that even make him remember the dark events that happened to him.

While I can only be silent while watching the others with a look of pity. They all panicked, reassuring each other. But some of them wept because they saw their loved ones gone forever from before him.

"Mother, awake... Ibuuu," cried a little child as he continued to shake the body of the first woman killed near me.

"Mother, say something mother don't shut up like this,"

"Mother... Why is your body so scary." The boy cried while taking his head apart.

The boy looked at his mother with blank eyes, "Mother don't leave me!!" Shouted the boy while hugging his mother's body filled with blood.

"Mom, I promise I will always be with you why you leave, why not answer my question." said the boy in a weakened tone.

I rounded my eyes when I saw Natte approaching the little boy. "Natte!!" I was shocked when Natte hugged the little boy.

Natte let go of her embrace and smiled lightly, "Your mother... Already gone to a better place, he never forgot his promise to you, because he was always by your side,"

"Here, he's always here with you" Natte said, pointing to the boy's chest.

"In your heart...." Natte said as she stared fixedly at the little boy.

The boy was crying loudly when he heard Natte's words. While some others were busy with their own fears including me.

I swallowed my saliva rough. I bit my lower lip again this time hard. I can't afford to see something as horrible as this. I wanted to vomit and close my ears and eyes until I didn't see or hear anything.

Because I can't bear to see such panic I'm not following the direction of some of the soldiers who are guarding around here. I must fight those who will eliminate people without regard to the fate of those who love them.

"Little!!" Natte shouted as she watched me run from the crowd.

I had to run to the palace hall, maybe there were many people gathered including the prince and some noble princesses.

I looked behind me because I heard the sound of swords clashing.

"Dad?!" I was shocked to see Duke Claoudie Kethzie behind me protecting me from an invisible attack.

"Come on!" His words were interrupted by his fight.

I don't understand that guy's attitude, he always looks so creepy in my eyes. Moreover, he also tortured me because he suspected that I was not his biological child, but strangely this time he protected me. I really didn't expect something like this to happen.

"What do you see, leave quickly or you'll be killed!" the reflexes made me realize.
