"What are your plans after this?"
Casey squealed as the voice suddenly buzzed so close behind her. He almost dropped the plate in his hand. "Where did you show up?" He asked and immediately regretted it. Stupid question. He cursed himself. Then finish the job of washing the dishes and drying both palms with tissue on the dining table.
The shoulder-haired man watched her as Casey paced the room in a hasty motion. But didn't say anything.
Casey walked quickly to the door and turned briefly toward the man, "don't try to follow me!" He warned the man. "I'm going to change clothes."
The man simply raised his eyebrows side by side.
A few minutes later, Casey came out of his room and walked side by side with the invisible man leaving his home to a classic shopping center selling ancient furniture and old books, not far from his home.
Casey researched every store she passed by looking bored. Then decided to enter into one of the shophouses that read: TAMAN BACAAN DEASY SNORING
The writing left Casey intrigued and managed to attract her interest. Although the girl was not too interested to read the book she still felt curious to visit it. There was no harm in looking around for a moment, he thought. Who knows once inside he can finally snore while reading the book as the name implies. Perhaps snoring elsewhere can spend more time outside the house to reduce the burden of his father who is always worried whenever he finds himself always in the house. He will be in this place forever. And her father was hoping to see Casey having fun in the most boring places like this city. So he must learn to overcome the feeling of uneasiness that he has not been able to get rid of since he arrived.
The invisible man named Denta was still trailing behind him without speaking.
Casey also tries not to communicate with the man so that he does not look strange in the eyes of others.
As soon as they entered the room, Casey found someone snoring at the checkout table. That must be Deasy Grunting. He concluded. On the cash register table, not far from the head of the woman who was snoring was a wooden box similar to a coffin measuring 10X30 CM containing some money.
Casey nodded with a smile. Is it always like that all the time? He wondered in his heart. Then began to walk more and more into the room crowded with thick books. The entire wall consists of bookshelves and in each room there is a velvet sofa and a small coffee table. Each room seems to be designed specifically for one person. This place is pretty convenient for book lovers, Casey thought. It seemed like I could indeed snore out of boredom on that velvet sofa every time I started reading a book.
Entering the second room, Casey crosses paths with a mysterious dressed man. Casey choked when the man tried to greet her. He is not sure if the person is the type of person he looks or not. So he just responded with a clumsy smile.
The man had long hair like an invisible man behind him. He wore shiny black clothing similar to modern Ninja uniforms in gothic films. Complete with a leather jacket with a head covering. It was like the jacket Denta wore. The man looked at her with a faint smile. But didn't say anything. Shortly thereafter the man also meets an unseen man behind Casey.
Casey looked at the two in turn.
And the mysterious man returned his gaze with his eyebrows intertwined.
Casey gulped and gawked avoiding the man's gaze. Then walk away from where the man is standing. Instantly his hair bristled when he turned around but could still feel the man's gaze still attached to his nape. He wanted to get out of the place as quickly as possible, but he knew the man would suspect him if he did it right now. So inevitably, Casey was forced to continue his plan to look around the other room even though he could not enjoy it.
"Hey, look at this!" Denta pats Casey on the shoulder. It then shows a thick, honey-brown book engraved in gold ink. "This is Ezra's favorite book!" The man told.
Casey gulped and looked at Denta with his eyebrows intertwined. The girl pegged for quite a while before finally receiving the book from Denta's hands hesitantly.
Denta developed his smile. "You can leave money at the cashier table. 10$ for one book," he explained. "Unless you want to read it here. No matter how many books you borrow. As long as you read it here you only need to pay 2$ a full day!"
"But as a new visitor, if you want to take home his book, you have to buy a 90$ member card for one book as collateral." Denta.
Casey finally clutched the book with one hand and walked towards the cashier's desk.
"You don't have to wake him. Just say something and put the money in a box, he can hear it even if he's snoring!" Denta told him again. "His member's card is in the little box next to him!"
Casey clucked and stared in amazement at Denta. "You know a lot about my house and the neighborhood?" Casey asked. "Did you live in my house?"
Hearing the question, Denta snorted at once, showing offended feelings. "Used...?! Huh..." Denta laughed bitterly.
"I'm sorry," sizzled Casey feeling guilty. He knew now that Denta was dead. And the man realized it. All right, he said in his heart. This man is a ghost.
"How's the walk?" His father asked after they returned home. "Have you found a favorite place?"
"Well, not yet." Casey smiled knot. "I haven't gone too far."
"At least you've been trying to enjoy life!" Father grinned.
"Good night, Dad!" Casey waved her hand from the stairs as she walked up to the second floor towards her room.
"Hopefully have a nice night, Sweetheart!" His father replied from the middle room.
Casey let out a heavy sigh then exhaled it all at once. He leaned his body against the door of his room when he just closed it. Close his eyes tightly, trying to get rid of all the things that disturbed his feelings throughout the night. He pulled out the book he had hidden behind his coat as he confronted his father in the living room.
Casey read the cover: Time Always Has Answers To Every Question
From the title alone it has been imagined the contents must be very boring. Casey wasn't sure if he really wanted to read it. He had never read a book this thick in his entire life. He never read a book except when he was in school. Reading books is not one of his favorite activities.
But if Ezra likes him so much, he should know the reason the man likes him. So he started reading it.
The main page contains a prologue of a story excerpt from one of the episodes that tells the most dramatic part about the death of a man in an accident after the man had a fight with his lover.
It was really boring, Casey murmured inwardly. He could hardly believe Ezra liked such a story given the man's above-average intelligence. But if the man likes it, there must be something interesting that has nothing to do with the sad love story.
In addition, there was one thing that caught Casey's attention. The name of the character in the story really managed to make the feathers bristling.
The main character in the story is named: Denta!
