Artland Series: MINORITY TALENT

Artland Series: MINORITY TALENT
Last Dusk

"Where, Lea?" Jonathan Van Allent tried asking after Keith and his father got out of the crowd and got back in the car.

His father opened his car door and burst in with his mouth closed. Keith then entered through the other door. He is silent too.

Jonathan watched the two curious. He was trying to wait for an answer. But no one opened their mouths.

"Let's go, what are you waiting for!" His father's orders were half-stomped.

"Dad," Jonathan tries to protest his father but then just groans.

His father was silent.

Jonathan knew his father wouldn't change his mind just because he was being urged. He sighed and then turned on his car engine by force, but did not immediately run it. He turned his attention out of the window, scrutinizing the crowds on the side of the road, not far from his car.

In the middle of the crowd he saw his older sister hanging staring right at his car. Seemed shaken and helpless.

Jonathan turned off the engine, and was just about to get out of his car when his father said, "just once you're thinking of defending him, you're out of the house, too." His father gave a warning. "There is no tolerance for the rebels."

Jonathan pecked for a moment, trying to cradle, before finally deciding to get out of the car.

"Jo," Keith screeched restrained. But then it only stutters when Jonathan finally gets out of the car and passes. He looked at his father's face, looking for a glimmer of regret. But the parents seem to have closed themselves off. He knew his father would never change his mind.

Jonathan didn't not know the risks he had to accept after this. But he believes he is ready enough. Both would be better than Eleazah to bear her own punishment. No matter how fatal the mistake she made, Eleazah Van Allent was still a woman. Jonathan couldn't imagine his older sister being out there.

"Keith...?!" His father growled, hinting for Keith to take over the wheel.

With a heavy heart Keith came out of the passenger seat and slipped behind the wheel. At first glance at the crowd he left and watched Jonathan struggling among the crowd, trying to get through the crowd, while Eleazah had entered a sports car with a mysterious stranger dressed. Keith breathed heavily. He closed his eyes tightly, knowing Jonathan was late in his pursuit of Eleazah. He ran his car slowly, silently still watching his two younger siblings with a feeling of guilt. Realizing the fact that he had lost two of his younger siblings today, it clearly made Keith feel useless. I am too weak, or they are too hard, their minds bitter. But later regretted complaining about this incident to his father. It was clearly my fault, regrettable in my heart.

"Gee!" Jonathan yells, trying to stop the car carrying Eleazah. But late. In a matter of seconds, the sports car had shot up in high speed. Before long a sport biker stopped in front of him, offering him a ride. Without thinking Jonathan accepted it. But they were unable to catch up with the sports car carrying Eleazah.

Tired and frustrated took hold of him. Long enough Jonathan kept silent at a stop, accompanied by the Rider of sports motorcycles he had not known. He stared at the passing vehicle in front of him without blinking.

The motorcyclist observed him with a concerned look. "So, what's your next plan?" The motorcyclist asked. The waist-haired man leaned his back on the support pole. "Would I take you home?"

Jonathan shook his head in a doldrums. "I've been expelled" he said. He lifted his face to look at the man dressed in all black who resembled the Ninja uniform with a resigned attitude.

"The guy in the sports car kicked you out?" The motorcyclist asked again, widening his eyes.

"No" replied Jonathan. "not her. I honestly don't know the owner of the sports car. But my sister was with him. And I'm not sure they know each other."

"My sister made a mistake and our father kicked her out of the house" Jonathan continued. Should he tell this to someone he doesn't know? Jonathan fondles. But this unknown person had just helped him, he had the right to know about this matter. "I can't leave him out there alone..."

"Okay, I get it!" The biker cuts through Jonathan's story, trying to reduce his load. He knows it is not easy to explain personal problems to strangers. But at least now he knows that he also has to think of a ride home for Jonathan. "My name is Last Dusk" he said as he reached out to Jonathan.

Jonathan gulped, a strange name, he thought. "Jonathan Van Allent" Jonathan greeted the motorcyclist.

"You can stay at my place if you want. Your sister's problem, we can think about it later." Dusk offer. "We need a break." Dusk sighed Jonathan's hand, helping him stand up.

What can be done, Jonathan's mind has run out of sense. Then finally followed the twilight.

Upon arriving at the Twilight apartment, Jonathan discovers something that leaves him dumbfounded.

Dusk approached him and followed Jonathan's gaze.

Jonathan pointed to one of the men in the photo displayed on the desk of the Twilight work. "He's a sports car driver" Jonathan said. In the photo are nine long-haired men in all-black uniforms, similar to Ninja uniforms, including Dusk. Jonathan appoints one of the most tall brunettes known to the Twilight as Evan Jeremiah.

"Are you sure?" Dusk knitted his eyebrows together, trying to make sure Jonathan wasn't wrong.

"I'm sure," Jonathan explained. "I still remember his face before he got in the car."

Dusk thought for a while, before finally saying, "then I know where your sister is. Tomorrow I'll take you to see him."

Jonathan watched for a while. Suddenly he remembered Dusk approaching him right after the sports car was gone. Then now he found evidence that Dusk and the Sports Car Driver already know each other. Is this just a coincidence? he wonders. Then he turned his head towards Dusk and looked at him suspiciously.

Dusk smiled thinly, as if he could read Jonathan's mind, he said, "don't worry, I'm not trying to make the slightest profit, especially from someone who had just been expelled by his parents," he said frankly. Then he looked back at Jonathan with a sneer.

Jonathan secretly regrets having put his suspicions on someone who just helped him. He sighed and turned his attention to the floor. He put both his hands in his pants pocket, but remained silent. Both of his eyebrows are linked to illustrate that he is thinking hard.

"I don't mind giving your sister a ride too if you don't have any plans after you meet!" Once again, Dusk showed a reaction as if he could read Jonathan's entire mind.

Makes Jonathan tick. Who exactly is this guy?
