Best Son-in-law
Chandra Juandi's Self-Confidence

Doctor Edi stood, silent in front of the glass of the ICU room where Aluna was being treated. He thought about what steps he should take next. Meanwhile, the other nurses, including Chandra, stood quietly behind him. They seemed anxious awaiting the decision of Dr. Edi.

Not yet had Edi's doctor make a decision, suddenly the voice of a man was heard loudly calling his name.

Doctor Edi turned his head and found Rega Kusuma, the director of the Hospital and Aluna's father, with an emotional look running over.

Doctor Edi lowered his body, smiling awkwardly greeting Rega. Like it or not, want it or not, he explained the real situation to Rega.

He explained slowly, cautiously so as not to provoke the anger of the director.

The director remained furious.

“You think my son's life is a joke!? The hospital is equipped with more advanced medical facilities than any other hospital! Now you're saying my son's life can't be saved!? How could a senior doctor like you be so stupid like this?”

Everyone was only able to fall silent to the words of a Rega Kusuma who was famous for being firm and indiscriminate. They know, this time the miracle that sometimes comes to the patient, most likely will not apply to Aluna Kusuma.

Silent. The atmosphere became tense.

“Your daughter can still be saved Mr. Rega,” sela Chandra broke the silence, then with full confidence she continued, “Allow me to perform her operation actions.”

Everyone was speechless, glaring at the words of a Chandra Juandi. How not? The Chandra they knew was just an ordinary nurse with no accomplishments or accomplishments. Then, just now, he said that he would lead the operation of Aluna Kusuma?

Of course no one wants to listen to his words—including Rega.

Rega walked back and forth. It was clear that she was panicking about her daughter's increasingly critical condition every second.

Before long, his face looked brightly filled with hope. In a hurry he picked up his phone in his pants pocket and contacted someone.

“Halo, doctor Melvin? It's me, Rega Kusuma,” he said.

“I need your help, doctor,” Rega continued, “My daughter had an accident. Rib fracture¹ and result in hematothorax². His condition worsened as time went on. All the medical experts at my hospital have tried their best, but our efforts have not been fruitful.”

"I'm a long way from your hospital location right now, and unfortunately my car tire broke. It will take me a long time to get there with this condition" replied doctor Melvin Sanjaya.

“Send your current location to me. I'll have someone pick you up.”

“Well I'll send you my location. But are you sure to wait for me first? It may take me an hour to get to your hospital. Hearing of your daughter's severe condition, I'm afraid I won't have time.”

“T-It's okay! Must still be able to!” exciting Rega.

“Alright then. I hope the doctors there can maintain Ms. Aluna's condition until I arrive.”

“Thank you, doctor.”

Rega then fell silent for a moment. His face was full of sweat imagining the worst. What if Melvin's doctor comes too late? What choice did he have to save his daughter?

Rega glanced for a moment at Chandra. It took a moment of thought in Rega's mind to get Chandra to perform the operation.

Time is running out for Aluna.

The face of Dr. Edi looks red to the ears. He walked over to Chandra with both hands tightly clenched.

“Chandra, have you gone crazy huh!? You say like you're a great surgeon! Remember, you're nothing more than a nurse and a loser! Doing a trivial task just can not, now instead want to operate Miss Alina!? Basic crazy!”

Not yet Chandra reply to the words of doctor Edi, a woman interrupts. “You always underestimate others, doctor Edi. Is that one of your skills now?”

“Be quiet, Sonya! Know what you know about my medical science!?” reply doctor Edi.

Chandra was only speechless listening to the two people he had just met today. He glanced at the woman. The identification on his chest read Sonya Wijaya.

“Well, all I know are two: belittling others and telling people to shut up,” Sonya grinned, “Listen to me doctor Edi, and the venerable Mr. Rega. My husband is probably just a regular nurse in your eyes.”

Husband? Chandra did not expect Sonya to be the husband of ‘Chandra’—the body she currently uses.

Unknown to Chandra, Sonya actually said that because she felt that now was a golden opportunity for her husband to gain the trust and position seen in the hospital.

“Listen to me doctor Edi and dear Mr Rega,” continued Sonya, “My husband is probably just an ordinary nurse in your eyes. But I know him very well. He doesn't like to spread promises let alone make nonsense. If he says he can, he can. I'm sure it's.”

Sonya was actually just like the others: she looked down on her husband. However, his aura that felt changed since the last time he scolded her. Not to mention, her diagnosis of Aluna which turned out to be 100% correct made Sonya believe her husband could perform the operation. After all, if her husband fails to blame also her husband.

“Are you kidding doctor Sonya? Your husband is nothing more than a nurse! Obviously it is very against the rules and will never be allowed,” denied doctor Edi.

Chandra intends to stop the debate. Suddenly, a man who is Aluna's personal bodyguard walks over to Rega.

“Sorry sir, I don't mean to be presumptuous, it's just that I saw with my own eyes how the man named Chandra Juandi was capable,” the bodyguard spoke near Rega's ears.

“What do you mean?” Rega scrunched his forehead.

“Begini Sir, when Miss Aluna had just arrived at the Emergency Unit, the man went to check on Ms. Aluna. Just by looking at the state of the lady from the outside, she could tell if Miss Aluna's condition was critical. He immediately suggested to perform the operation. I think, if only then had everyone put aside their ego and listened more to the man's words, the lady would now be fine,” replied the bodyguard at length.

Hearing the bodyguard's words made Rega rethink. Most of Aluna's bodyguards were just ordinary bodyguards, but in reality the man was one of the great former police officers. He could not speak carelessly and without strong evidence.

The words of the bodyguard sounded so logical in his ears and head. He could no longer put his ego forward by waiting for the arrival of another doctor while his son was dying there.

Then Rega said, steadily,

“Alright! You, Chandra Juandi, if you really believe you can save my son, then I will give you a chance. But remember carefully: if my daughter's condition worsens, then it's your life that will drift tonight!”

Chandra nodded his head in a sign of approval. He walked to the ICU where Aluna was lying.
