Best Son-in-law

Best Son-in-law
Dilemmas

Smoke was still billowing from the hood of the car being boarded by Sonya and Chandra. In it, the couple was still silent because they still could not believe what was happening. Finally, Chandra was the first to speak.

"You're not hurt, are you?" Chandra looked at Sonya closely, from the top to the bottom of the woman's body as if she was afraid of missing something.

"I .. was not hurt. It's just that it feels like you just escaped from the angel of death," Sonya stared back at Chandra's face with an expression that was hard to describe.

"You're still Sonya, right?" Chandra patted the woman's cheek as if she was resuscitating her from fainting.

Anxious and resentful Sonya put away Chandra's hand and said in a sulking tone, "I'm not Sonya, I'm Sonya's ghost."

"Sorry .. I'm just confirming your consciousness," Chandra then replaced the pat on Sonya's cheek into a caress.

"I was so scared of Chandra, it felt like my legs had turned into jelly from suffocation. You really almost got us both killed in this place." Sonya then tries to untie her seatbelt. However, after a while of trying it turned out that he did not manage to open it.

Chandra who saw it immediately took the initiative to open it, "Let me open it." In one experiment Chandra managed to open it.

"Come, we need to get out of the car. I was afraid that there would be an explosion later," Chandra's face turned moody very much saying that. He still remembers everything about what happened on that fateful night a few months ago.

Chandra swiftly got out of the car, after which he deftly helped Sonya out of the car.

"Chandra, my things are still in the back seat." Sonya said as Chandra led her away from their car which was still emitting smoke.

"We need to get away from Sonya's car first, at least we have a safe place to take shelter in case of an explosion." Chandra continued walking while touching Sonya's body.

After walking far enough away, Chandra stopped at a corner of a tea garden sheltered enough behind a small hill. Then he helped Sonya sit on a large rock, thankfully the woman was not hurt. It's just that Sonya's face looks so pale.

Chandra took a handkerchief from the pocket of her jeans, and wiped the sweat that soaked Sonya's pretty face. The woman was clearly stunned by her husband's actions which she said were very romantic.

"You wait here yeah, I think it's pretty safe here. I need to get back to the location to pick up our stuff that's still there. Your phone got a signal, right? Call me as soon as something happens. I'll be back as soon as possible" Chandra then hands her handkerchief to Sonya and leaves.

"Wait, what if the car explodes while you're there? His things do not need to be taken. We'll just sit here until help comes." Sonya refuses to let Chandra go.

"In your bag there must be an important item of yours, and it's impossible to just leave it. Relax Sonya, I'll be fine."

"What if you get hurt?" Sonya still insisted that Chandra not leave her.

"I'll be careful. Stay here, don't go anywhere. This place is safe enough to take shelter." Chandra stepped away from Sonya, occasionally looking around.

After walking for a while, he pulled out his phone. Then check again the incoming message he had read this morning.

Be careful they plan something for you.

Just a sentence, but its content instantly made him much more alert now.

"Thank you for your warning, but I think they're moving faster than I thought. Me and Sonya .. had an accident. Our car brakes are not working. No. We're fine Lis, since reading your message this morning all I've probably thought about. You ... over there okay, right?"

"Thank God, then, I hope they don't go too far and make things difficult for you, Lisa. Please keep an eye on them." Chandra ended his conversation and was pensive for a moment.

Lisa, I owe you my life. Chandra said in his heart.

"You just got home?" Lisa stopped her steps as she passed through the magnificent living room that felt cold to her.

"Yes Ma, my duties have increased lately." Lisa looked at her mother who was busy reading the latest fashion magazine.

"Until when do you want to hide Lis?"

That question again. A question that makes his head hurt every time he hears it from your mouth.

For the sake of courtesy, Lisa finally relented and approached the mother. Now he is sitting in a chair, opposite his mother.

"We've discussed this many times Ma. I want to stand on my own with both feet, not with the sympathy of others."

"But that's your right! His blood runs through your body, you're entitled to what your father has." Her mother put the magazine on the table in a huff.

"Ma .. that's it. Our lives are comfortable like this. I don't need a confession from that guy either, I already have Mama. Can't we just forget everything Ma?" Lisa squealed her temples that felt dizzy.

"Never will! Mama won't forget everything Lis. You, Mama asked to work at the hospital so you could get close to the man. He should know where you are, Lisa."

"No Ma, leave it all like this. I'm tired of looking for a confession" Lisa now lies on the couch, her eyes staring at the ceiling like she's thinking about something.

"If you really love your boss, go after him! You can even help him out of this if you want to tell your father whereabouts. All your problems Mama guaranteed will be done in the blink of an eye Lisa." This time her mother preferred to persuade in a subtle way.

"Where did Mama know? This mom, always just comes to her own conclusions." Lisa was clucking because actually what her mother said was true. He loves his boss. But fate is not on her side, Chandra has a wife.

"I'm your mother, you want to hide in the ant hole though, Mama would know Lis. Listen to Mama well. Mama sent you to nursing school not without reason, Mama asked you to come to the hospital just as an ordinary nurse also not without reason.

"You may just be a nurse in the eyes of others, but in reality you are one of the heirs to the family fortune. Your position now keeps you safe and doesn't get much attention, it means you can move freely up your legs."

Lisa breathed a tired breath. Mama and her plans are always out of her mind. Make him always feel gamang, between following his Mama's plan or keep going as he wants.

Lisa obviously hated the man. The man Mama called her father. However, somehow his mother forced herself too much to get a confession.

"Take what should be yours Lisa. Don't let others always look at you one eye. You get enough recognition from your father, then all your problems are over and you can still move on freely." Her mother then moved on from there, leaving Lisa struggling with her own thoughts.
