Chapter 45: The Monster Tree

Ruti jumps to land on Marsya's back until they fly over the sky.

Their destination was the Northern forest which should be able to be taken for a few days to just a few hours.

From above they could see the roots creeping from one giant dark black tree.

"Looking at a glance I know it's very dangerous" Marsya said, taking a small nod from Ruti.

"How about master?"

"I'll try to shoot him from here."

Ardhi created a giant magic circle and from there the ball of lightning shot out at high speed.

It was eyeing its tree as a target but unfortunately the previously silent roots rose into the air forming a wall that held it back.

"Tree is alive, it's gonna be tough."

The difficulty grew with the appearance of many monsters that sprung from the forest, they watched Ardhi's whereabouts with the others.

"There is no other way but to burn the whole forest, including the trees."

"Not that it's hard Ardhi, this forest is too vast."

"I also agree but there is no other way, let's burn from the outside first," he replied to Ruti before the three jumped down.

The Ardhi sword pierced through their head bones, followed by Ruti's punch and Marsya's fire magic.

There was no plan they had set, only defeating monsters and burning down the forest.

"You belittle me, eat my flame."

Fire gushed from Marsya's mouth devouring anything in front of him, at the same time Ruri had punched the ground making the monsters surrounding her fall in until Ardhi finally finished it with his flying sword, occasionally he used lightning coupled with water next to ice.

Now he began to realize the closer this root is to the tree, the stronger the plant is.

"You guys, help us."

Some people were unexpectedly lying on the ground with bodies covered in wounds. It is clear that they are adventurers.

"We'll save them, let's back off for now."

On Ardhi's statement, Ruti and Marsya nod their heads and go to a nearby city after placing them on Marsya's back in his dragon form.

There were six people they had brought along, the appearance of a dragon attracted many eyes fixed on them.

"This dragon?"

"Can they be saved?" ask Ruti.

"No problem, no serious injury.it, instead you're the hero Ruti."

"Yes, they are also my friends including his dragon."

"I heard that the cataclysmic dragon is now on good terms with the empire but I didn't expect it to go that far."

It's unbelievable but now Marsya is playing with the kids around him.

"I'd be grateful if you helped me put it in the house."

"Let me just."

Ardhi did his job and left them lying on the bed, one of the men barged in with a worried face.

"You guys okay?"

"Guild master, we have failed to do so."

"Then where are the others?"

"They're dead."

"Impossible."

Ardhi guessed that these adventurers were doing some sort of mission to destroy the tree.

The guild master bowed his body towards Ruti while thanking him.

"No, I didn't do much.all of this is thanks to Ardhi and his dragon."

"Don't forget me either" Yuki cut off.

Until the eyes are on Ardhi.

"Hero Ruti really likes to humble himself."

"I've guessed it's what our heroes expect."

"It's true."

"Eh?"

Ardhi thought he did not want to attract too much attention in this imperial region.
