The Presence of Felix

Laura turned her head when she accidentally saw a passing car. He thought it was Bryan's car, but he also thought it was impossible for Bryan to come to the secret garden but not get out of the car. After all, ever since Laura parted ways with Bryan, Secret Garden has never gotten a flower decoration order from Bryan. So, Laura thought that it seemed impossible.

“Felix, would you like to accompany me to dinner? I happened to be hungry because I did not have time for lunch,” said Laura, inviting Felix to leave the Secret Garden immediately.

Felix smiled broadly. He certainly accepted Laura's offer with wide hands. “Yes, let's go eat. Waiting for you for hours here also makes me feel hungry,” Felix joked, making Laura chuckle.

Felix held Laura's hand towards her car parked on the side of the road. Afterwards he drove his car to one of the restaurants in Barcelona. Despite not living in Barcelona, Felix knows a few places there because he often goes to Barcelona to do some work or just take a vacation.

“Do you like to eat seafood?” ask Felix. He glanced at Laura, then looked back at the street in front of him. “Near here is a seafood restaurant that I go to every time I go to Barcelona.”

Laura nodded. “I'm not picky when it comes to food. The important thing is that the cuisine there is delicious then I will not mind it,” Laura replied innocently.

Felix gave a crisp laugh, making Laura look at him confused.

“Why are you laughing?” ask Laura.

“No.” Felix shook his head. “I just didn't think that you weren't the girl I thought you were.”

Laura frowned deeply. “What did you think of me before?” asked Laura, curious.

“Hm, let me think first.” Felix rubbed his chin, thinking about Laura's nature which he thought was different from his shadow. “I used to think you were a spoiled girl who loved luxury and squandered money. But, after knowing where you worked and your answer just now .. I changed my mind.”

Laura laughed crisply. “Many people think like that including my parents. Therefore I choose to go from home to prove that I can live without money from them,” Laura replied.

Their conversation stopped for a moment as they had reached the restaurant that Felix had intended. They got out of the car and went into the restaurant. The restaurant is not a five-star restaurant, but it carries a beach theme that makes anyone comfortable to eat there.

After sitting down and ordering food, then they continued their delayed conversation earlier.

“By the way you said that, are you sure that's your only reason?” ask Felix, because he's not sure if that's the only reason why Laura left her hometown.

Laura breathed a heavy sigh. “I just don't want my parents to think that they can manage me at will and think that I am a burden to them,” Laura replied.

Felix turned his head. “I don't think they could have thought that way to the only daughter they have, Laura,” Felix replied.

Laura laughed then said, “You don't know my parents, Felix. What you see of them is not really what they show in front of me.”

“Your parents leave greetings for you,” said Felix, making Laura stop her laughter.

“Really?” reply Laura indifferently. She remembers her parents saying she was a burden to them, so Laura decided to leave home and open a new chapter in Barcelona.

Laura smiled faintly, not knowing if she could not hate her parents after what her parents had done. Laura still felt very irritated when she remembered the events of that day. Maybe Laura still needs a lot of time to be able to forgive her parents.

Their order came, Laura and Felix were again silent while enjoying their dinner. Sometimes they talk and it makes Laura think about one thing, which is that Felix is not as bad as she thought.

Laura did not expect that Felix was a caring and mature man. Actually only this time they actually met and talked. Previously, Laura always avoided and refused to meet with Felix. As Laura said before, she doesn't like being betrothed. For him, he could choose his own soul mate so he did not want others to interfere about it.

“By the way, where do you live? I will drop you off after this,” Felix said after they finished their meal and are waiting for the payment transaction to be completed.

“My place of residence is not too far from here,” said Laura. “Later I will show you the way.”

Felix nodded his head. As he said, he immediately drove Laura home. The distance between the restaurant and Laura's apartment wasn't so far away that it didn't take them long to get there.

Before getting out of Felix's car, do not forget Laura said thanks to Felix.

“Felix, thank you for treating me and taking me home,” Laura said.

Felix smiling. “Isn't it mandatory if a man invites you to go?” reply .

“Well, technically I actually invited you earlier,” Laura said while tilting her head.

Felix laughed crisply. “I won't let women go home alone after going with me, Laura. If you go with me, no matter who invites me, I will definitely drive you home,” Felix replied.

“By the way, you can't go to Barcelona just to see me, ‘right?” asked Laura while squinting.

Felix laughed clumsily, then scratched his non-itchy nape. “Of course not. I have business here too. So, all of you I see you,” he said, lying. He came to Barcelona to meet Laura.

“Do you know where I work at Secret Garden?” ask Laura again.

“I just accidentally saw you go in there. So, I decided to wait for you there,” he said. “I told you, I've been looking for you for a long time. So, when I see you of course I won't waste the chance to meet you, will I?”

Laura nodded her head. “True too, anyway. Then, I go in first, huh?” pamit Laura's.

Felix nodded.

“Be careful on the road, Felix,” said Laura then got off Felix's car.

Felix was still staring at Laura, watching the girl until she got inside her apartment building before Felix finally drove his car away. The man smiled happily because today Laura seemed to be able to accept his presence.
