Laura stared at the nanar on her phone screen. From last night, Laura couldn't sleep well because she felt unsettled. The girl wakes up every thirty minutes to check her phone as she waits for news from Bryan.
Despite Briza's story that Bryan was staying at her apartment, there was still a bit of positive thinking that made Laura still believe that Bryan could not stay at the girl's place. Who knew that Bryan only looked at Briza again to make sure of the girl's condition, right?
Yes, Laura, I hope so.
He put his phone on the dresser, then looked at his reflection in the mirror. Due to lack of sleep, there were dark circles around his eyes. The girl tried to cover it with makeup. However, all of a sudden his eyes were watering and the tears he had weathered from last night fell on his cheeks.
“No, no! I can't cry just because of Briza! It could have been that strange girl tricking me,” muttered Laura as she wiped her tears.
However, as hard as Laura convinced herself, the fact that Bryan had not contacted her until now made Laura even more disappointed. The fear that Briza was telling the truth last night made her think worse about Briza and Bryan.
The girl turned her head up, looking up at the ceiling of her apartment while trying to hold back her tears from falling again.
“I must be strong, I must not crybaby.”
The sentence was repeated over and over again so that she would not cry anymore. The girl took a deep breath, then slowly exhaled.
“From the time I think about them, I better get ready to go to work soon. Lola would have been upset if I was late a lot, ” murmured Laura.
The girl gets ready and then goes to work. Just as he had just locked the door of his apartment, at the same second Felix had also just walked out of his apartment.
“Good morning, Laura!” greet Felix with a big smile. The man then moved his foot toward Laura who was still bowing her head.
“Good morning, Felix,” reply Laura, still reluctant to raise your head. Laura didn't want Felix to see her pitiful face.
“Are you wrong pillow last night?” asked Felix while frowning his forehead.
Laura shakes. “No.”
“Then, why do you keep your head down?” ask Felix.
Laura bit her lower lip, then let out a long sigh. The girl would not want to raise her head. Felix knew what was going on with him. It didn't seem like a problem either if the man saw how his face was at the moment.
One thing that immediately stole Felix's attention was the panda eyes perched on Laura's face. The man was worried because he knew what was causing it.
“Didn't you sleep all night?” ask Felix.
Felix smiled faintly. “Do you want to go to work? Let me drive you,” Felix bargained, deliberately diverting the conversation so that Laura does not constantly grieve.
“No need. I'll take a taxi,” politely decline Laura.
“Come on, I'll take you. If you fall asleep in a taxi and get kidnapped by the driver how?” seloroh Felix's.
Laura laughed a little. “You're watching too many movies, Felix,” he said, shaking his head.
“The crime in every big city is high, Laura. Better prevent than cure, right?”
Laura chuckles. “Alright, alright. Let's go,” he said at the end.
Along the way to the Secret Garden, Felix did not talk about Laura's problems because he knew Laura would be sad. As much as possible the man was looking for a topic of conversation that could take Laura's mind off Bryan and Briza.
However, when they had reached the Secret Garden, Laura said a sentence before she walked into the flower shop.
“Bryan still hasn't contacted me.”
“You must be calm and trust Bryan, Laura. If he did love you, trust me, he would never do anything that could hurt you, ” Felix advises.
“Really?”
Felix nodded. “Yes. I am a man, so I understand what other men do if they really love someone.” Felix stopped his words for a moment. “Laura I know is a calm and elegant woman. That's what attracted me to you. Don't let this make you lose who you are, Laura.”
Laura smiled, then hugged Felix.
“Thank you, Felix. You really are like an older brother I never had before. I'm happy because there is someone who wants to hear my complaint,” said Laura.
“I will be a good sister to you, Laura,” Felix replied with a smile.
Laura let go of her embrace and said goodbye to Felix to enter the flower shop. While Felix continued to watch Laura while smiling wryly as the girl disappeared behind the Secret Garden door.
‘I will learn sincerely that in the end I will only be a sister to you, Laura. But, I will make sure first whether Bryan is the best man for you or not, Laura said in her heart.
