Six months later...
"You seem very happy?" Virranda chewed her food, she looked at Joe who had just shown a smile on his face.
"I, already accepted to be a pilot," he said looking at the face of Virranda who suddenly stunned to hear his words, but a second later the woman quickly swallowed the food that was still left in her mouth.
"You're serious?!" ask Virranda not to believe it.
"Yes, I'm serious. Several times I flew to London, left you, aiming to take the test there, and this was also not separated thanks to your prayers as well" he said solemnly with a smile that continued to expand on his face.
"Well, congratulations Joe. I was glad to hear it, "virranda unconsciously got up from her seat and hugged her husband tightly. Joe was fixated, he did not expect to get an impromptu hug from Virranda, this was the first time he felt the warm embrace of his wife.
"If you have given birth to your baby, I will take you flying around the world with me" Joe said with a happy look. He ventured to touch Virranda's growing belly, feeling the baby's movements that responded to the touch of his hand.
"Yes, I want Joe" said Virranda, who also felt Joe's happiness. She did not refuse when her husband's hand gently rubbed her stomach.
"Is this dinner a form of celebration for you being a pilot?" Virranda let go of her embrace and returned to her seat.
"Hum, you could say so. You can order any more food you want" Joe offered.
"really? Thank you Joe."
Joe smiled again, he enjoyed seeing Virranda enthusiastically calling the waiter and adding to his order. Virranda is always happy when offered a meal, the pregnant woman is never full, her mouth always wants to chew without stopping.
...🍓🍓🍓...
"What are you thinking about Kwang?" Gerry approached Ferdinand, who was looking at the leaf of the Virranda leave application paper preparing to give birth.
The woman had just walked out of the room with her stomach growing more patterned, her days were indeed the attention of most of the employees who felt strange, because their director gave pregnant women a chance to work, to get a job, especially as an assistant.
"The baby that Virranda was going to give birth to, it's my son," Ferdinand said, still not moving on from the letter he still held.
Gerry immediately laughed discordantly, feeling Ferdinand was frustrated at his work so much, not to mention at this age, his best friend had not found a life partner.
"Wang, I did see you treat Miss Virranda differently all this time, and seem more special. I think it's only natural, because the woman is pregnant. But I didn't expect that you could confess to me, saying the baby that the woman was carrying was your son. That's impossible." Gerry resumed his laughter, he really did not stop to think at the unreasonable recognition of the director.
"You can laugh at me today, but not after the baby was born" Ferdinand said seriously.
"How can you be so sure?" Gerry, who felt Ferdinand was serious about his words, stopped his laughter.
Ferdinand took a deep breath until his chest seemed to bulge, then exhaled slowly, as if there was a heavy burden there.
"Nearly ten months ago, I slept with a woman. And that woman was Virranda," Ferdinand raised his left hand in the air, gesturing to Gerry who looked shocked and wanted to cut off his speech.
Seeing him, Gerry clenched his mouth tightly. He knew, Ferdinand was wanting to reveal what he had been keeping to himself all this time.
"From this leave letter, he attached a doctor's certificate, that one week he will give birth to his baby. And it was the same period of time after I slept with him that night" Ferdinand said.
"But Kwang, doesn't Miss Virranda have a husband? That baby must be her husband's son?" Gerry tried to resuscitate his friend, he felt Ferdinand was just obsessed with Virranda.
"No. They married after Virranda was three months pregnant, they had never known or had any kind of relationship before" Ferdinand said. Gerry who was still not sure of everything he heard opened his mouth again, he had not had time to ask his curious questions, the phone on Ferdinand's desk suddenly rang out discharging the concentration of the two.
📞"Hallo, Gerry's assistant here. Can anyone help?" gerry picked up the phone.
📞"Miss Virranda, she is in pain Mr. Gerry, her groin is bleeding. A foreign woman ran him over and pushed him to his knees in the lobby when Miss was just back for lunch" a receptionist said from the other end of the phone.
"Well, thank you, we'll be there soon" Gerry said in a hurry to disconnect his phone.
"What's wrong?" ferdinand asked looking at Gerry's worried face.
"It's about Virranda, come with me quickly and take your car keys, I'll explain it as I walk," upon hearing Virranda's name, without question Ferdinand followed Gerry hurriedly out of his room.
Ferdinand felt extremely furious after hearing Gerry's short story. He rushed out of the elevator that had just opened.
"Gerry, get my car ready, we've got to get to the hospital now" Ferdinand threw his car keys at Gerry. With half-running steps approaching Virranda who was laid in the lobby sofa and lifted the woman to her car park.
"Hold miss Virranda, we're on our way to the hospital," Ferdinand's face paled, anxious overpowering him as he watched the blood from Virranda's groin continue to flow.
Ferdinand could also see the baby moving in Virranda's tummy, moving to and fro, as if feeling what his mother was feeling.
"Jeo, Joe.." - Virranda in the midst of her pain. Gerry who drove off his car noticed Ferdinand's face that seemed unhappy to hear Virranda calling her husband's name.
...🍓🍓🍓...
"Please Doc, do your best for my wife" Ferdinand said, visibly nervous as doctors brought Viranda in with the nurses and closed the action room.
"Kwang, are you aware of what you just said? Virranda is a wife! Not your wife!" Gerry looked at Ferdinand's anxious and disheveled face. He knew this was not the right time to say it, but he also did not want his best friend and director was wrong in acting.
Ferdinand turned his head towards Gerry, he did not say anything. With a staggering step he headed for the iron chair and sat there praying inwardly for the safety of Virranda and her baby.
Although Ferdinand did not answer, Gerry was sure, the man heard his words. He approached Ferdinand, and sat down next to him.
"Tell her husband that Miss Virranda is here. I heard her calling her husband's name" Gerry said.
"Joe can't know that Virranda is here. I want to make sure that baby is my son. It's the right time to test for DNA, once the baby is born" he murmured.
"But Kwang, it's forbidden by law. You can't do that to a man's wife and child" Gerry returned to try to remind his best friend.
"Gerry! Stop banning me! Let me do it, so I don't get curious. If the baby wasn't my son, I'd let him go, and his mother, too" he said with an angry look, as Gerry always stood in his way.
Oweek! Oweek! Oweek!
As the two looked at each other, the sound of the crying of the baby inside the action room made them immediately stand up from their seats.
"You listening? It must be the voice of the baby Virranda, the baby boy, the voice was very loud. He must be my son" Ferdinand said with a smile that showed the happiness of his heart.
Gerry's tongue felt muddy, he looked at the happy face Ferdinand did not understand, his friend seemed so sure of what he thought was the truth.
"Mrs Virranda's Husband?!" call the doctor who just came out of the action room.
"Yes Doc!" Ferdinand hurried over. "How's my wife and baby doing Doc?" ferdinand asked, as he stood before the doctor who had helped deliver Virranda.
"We should be grateful, it turns out your wife can still give birth normally. Lady Virranda survived and so did her son. He's very handsome" the doctor said with a smile.
"Congratulations Mister!" the doctor shook Ferdinand's hand which was still developing his happy smile. While Gerry who saw everything it can only stroke the chest.
"The patient and the baby will soon be transferred to the hospital room, sir," the doctor continued.
"Sir, please give your identity card and family card to the hospital administration, so that we can make your son's birth certificate,"
"I'm sorry, I'll take care of the other patients" the doctor said.
"I-iya Doc, thank you." Ferdinand stuttered, he stood there, looking at the doctor who had passed away from the place.
"I know, you must be confused, how to give the family card that you do not have," said Gerry who suddenly stood next to him and holding Ferdinand's shoulder. He hoped that his best friend would soon be awakened from his own false hope.
Ferdinand shook his head, Gerry's words were true, so he didn't know what to do now.
"We'd better go home first. Look at the bloodstains in your pants it's starting to dry up. You need to get dressed, clean yourself, then you can come back."
Ferdinand lowered his head, looking at the nearly dried bloodstain Virranda had swallowed, as well as the fishy smell he had just noticed. He remembered that the blood was there when he held Virranda in pain.
"If we go home, Virranda is alone" Ferdinand said hesitantly.
"Don't worry, there are nurses who take care of it" Gerry said again, convincing his best friend to go home.
"All right." With a heavy heart Ferdinand finally complied. He turned towards the door of the action room which was still tightly closed for a moment, there was a fear that he could not see Virranda and her baby again.
