A few days have passed. The world is still full of wars, and the world's population is declining at an unprecedented pace, but it still shows no signs of decline. The indiscriminate appearance of the dungeon had managed to make some people feel a sense of crisis, but it was not enough for only a few people who wanted to fix it. Instead, those people were prevented from dealing with the dungeons for fear of a counterattack while they were busy.
Therefore, humans stood at the forefront with weapons to kill each other instead of monsters. The great laws that they had held dearly since the Great Fusion were violated. It was expected; humans would immediately part and quarrel unless there was absolute power to give them direction and force them to cooperate. However, many absolute powers had fallen into the arms of the elves and taken away the Chaos Soul power, and were thus destroyed by the Rebellion.
There are still existences like me or the fighters I met some time ago. But none of us had any intention of mingling with that quarreling human. We have more important things to fight for. So, in the end, humanity came to walk the path, only the razor edge of destruction. Will they stop? Will they feel a crisis at a time when their population is falling below a billion? Who knows?
Humans cannot think of going back, even when they know they are wrong.
“Brother?”
“Ya?” My sister's call brought me back to the real world. I saw the ruins before me after we finished with the dungeon, waiting for the record to finish spinning. However, starting needle rotation takes longer to slow down, which means only one thing.
“I think this next one will be a bit far away. This area seems to have been taken care of. ”
“My brother, do you want to rest first? You look tired. ”
“Do you need it?”
“I'm fine.”
“I'm fine too. When we're done, we can rest for a while. ”
“When will it end?” The absorption of the dungeon went smoothly thanks to the addition of three teams consisting of two members of the Rebellion, and three additional teams consisting of higher-leveled monsters. With the dungeon we just finished, it looks like we've just finished with Asia. At first it was a little bit slower than I thought, but we were still in a hurry. It's just the number of dungeons that appear beyond my imagination.
What about that heroic uncle?
“They drove very fast, thanks to Solas.” The self-proclaimed soldier looked quite young to me, but I guess to him, whoever was older got the title of uncle.
“No, it has become difficult to judge a person based on his appearance since Great Fusion. Even your body has changed so much from your level rise, then you have also experienced a class change or evolution.
“Good.”
“So, except my brothers, all men are uncles and all women besides Jia are aunts.” I was afraid of the iron convictions with which my sister expressed this.
“Come, quickly go, brother.”
“Good.” There are very few survivors in the ruins. Most of them were wounded or dying, a terrible group of humans that we didn't care about. We are used to such a sight now. Ignoring them, we opened the gates to our next dungeon.
As we entered, a strange feeling enveloped me.
“...” We did not stop moving; it was just a momentary feeling like something was wrong. My sister grabbed my arm, looking at me.
“What's up, brother?”
“Hmm ..” I spread a dozen blackmines to our safety before putting my hand on one of the dungeon walls.
I've seen this before.
“Well, it's not strange to see a similar environment considering how many basements we've been through.”
“Hm.. I don't think it is.” Corridors, walls, and ceilings looked like obsidian. The air flowing through the corridor we were in felt too familiar.
[Gahaha!]
A squid-like monster emerged from the floor made of crystal as I daydreamed. It was an advanced monster, just embarrassed by the upper system.
I remember this place. Some blackmines lunged at him as if waiting for the monster to appear.
This is the Black Palace.
“Black Palace? In Seongbuk-gu? ”
“No.”
“There are two people?”
There are at least seven of them. I woke up in District 7. I increase the number of blackmines around us. Unlike the 7th district, this district had high-level monsters from the very beginning.
Seven ?!
“Yes, how many times do I have to say it?” I originally intended to find another area of the Black Palace, yet I have yet to find a single one despite all the dungeons we cleared. Finally, given everything that had happened so far, I forgot everything. But now it shows up once again.
“Black Palace.. the first place you open your eyes...”
“But not this one. Maybe someone else fell here. ” I murmured bitterly as I remembered my days as a goblin. More than that, I remembered the voice of my poor partner, Destiny, who died for no reason.
“...No.”
“Brother?”
“Nothing, let's keep.” The difficulty of this dungeon was terrible, so I wondered if I could survive if I appeared as a fallen person somewhere else. We are facing a higher level entity that does not appear in any other dungeon. This underground prison had no boss room at the end of the first or second floor. There may not be a third or fourth. That means we can't take the shortcut strategy we've been using all along.
“Do not worry about it.” Among the countless monsters, a ridiculous amount of energy gathered on the ceiling. Immediately before he called to warn me, I managed to recognize him. I pulled the energy towards me and pierced through the ceiling. A giant centipede on top of me fell down, crushing me while resisting my attack. It had a half-rotten body, emitting death and life energy.
“Brother!”
“Don't worry, I'm fine!” I inserted Predation into the Goddess ‘Touch, expanding it with the Flame of Destruction on top of my head.
[Gyaaaah!]
The centipede let out a rumbling sound as it collided with the crystal. His body was torn apart, dangerous gas gushed out from his body, making the obsidian pathway blur.
“Don't breathe it! That's deadly to us too! ”
“...!” He kept quiet, understanding my advice.
“I think it is a mutation that managed to reach a higher system.” I thought there would be no difficult enemies among the undead, but I was wrong. Another monster that shouldn't be around is wriggling at me right now. I awakened the Predation energy even more intensely. This new centipede emits more toxic energy, but I am a Belkatina. I absorbed the mana, cleaning the passage was enough for my sister to breathe.
“Brother, what should I do..”.
“Si-yeon, back off now. That's dangerous.”
[Ohhhhhhhhh!]
The centipede twisted its body furiously, widening the narrow passageway as it struck. There might not be many of these people in this dungeon, but this one is extremely powerful. It seemed almost futile to kill him here.
[Yeahyaah!]
It charged towards me with its jaws wide open, but I was ready with Destruction in hand. I grabbed one of his big fangs as he tried to bite me.
“Brother!”
Khw!
[Kugagaaac!]
I focused my new magic power on my arm that was holding it. It was bewildered by the physical force blocking it, trying to lean further to push me down, but I used that momentum to lift it. It filled the basement with an incredible roar of pain.
[Yahoooooo!]
I'll give you a chance. The centipede stopped screaming at my slow mutter. Monsters that have reached a higher system level usually have intelligence.
“Death or obey me.”
[Yeah!]
He fought again, a terrible energy came out of his body to try and hurt me. ‘Good by me.’ I clutched his teeth once more with one hand, slamming my other hand against him hard. With a sound like a cannon shot, my hand stuck in his body. Blood flowed out around my fist, absorbed by Predation.
“Change of mind?”
[Kalalisa!]
Voice weakened. I raised my fist once more, and it stopped fighting completely.
“Oh, brother.”
“Please kill him.” I activated my Dominance skill, wondering if it might make a last resort. It does not resist because the spirit of Domination dominates it.
“Good. Go back underground and wait quietly. I'll give you orders later. ”
[Kuoo.]
I felt like he nodded to me before being absorbed by the open gate on the floor.
“Brothers.”
Are you hurt?
“Not not it.” He raised his hand to point across the hall. As a result of the massive centipede struggle, the corridor expanded. Far away in the distance, I could see the boss room of the dungeon. Right on the seventh floor, like in District 7. I felt angry at how easy it was to be here to get to the seventh floor, marching forward with my sister to the huge iron gate. I kicked it open without a key, a little surprised to be greeted by the strange sense of dignity emanating from the boss room.
[Aahh. You're finally here.]
A huge monster, tied with chains to the walls of the dungeon, greeted me. I can feel the headache.
“Finally...?”.
[Yes, Demon King. Demonized. The time has finally come to raise the banner of revenge!]
And the last part of the past that no one told me welcomed me.
