Demon King
Chapter 75 The War Between Man and Fairy [3]

As the woman said, a total of seventy-four people entered the dungeon. The people I let escape before were not included in their numbers. ‘Definitely left his guild and gave a guarantee so that he could live.’ I'm not too surprised that that's the case, and I guess it's a better result. In this way, the story will spread once, the story gets more and more terrifying with each storytelling. A small, but potentially fatal mistrust between humans and elves grew.

Not that it would be a bad thing for humanity as a whole. Although many would die here in this dungeon, it was clear to others that elves were enemies of mankind. Thus, humans will be more vigilant in the future. Given the actions of the previous elves, it would not be a bad thing for the survival of the human race. But I am not on the human side. It's just that both the elves and the humans right now are my enemies, and by pitting them down, I can consume them more effectively.

If all elves are like Mireina, this is not necessary for me to do so. ‘If Rain's hatred had not expanded so far..’ I put these thoughts out of my mind and kept running. I can consider this later; now, I must focus on ending this fight.

I issued an order to leave the troops on the first floor.

“Pak..”

I headed straight for the snake head first, ambushing the guild master who easily exceeded level 160. He was covered from head to toe in metal armor, a huge shield in hand, but his defense was not comparable to my Devil's Claw that benefited from a top-tier Surprise.

[You have gained 750,132 experiences.]

[You have received 3,982 gold and 29 silver.]

[You have obtained items in the opponent's inventory, which includes.].

Black smoke swallowed his severed head before it could touch the ground. The rest of the body was a bit too strong to eat right away, so I disappeared instead.

“...!” It took a short time, the humans who followed the guild master stopped in their tracks. A cold silence enveloped the group for a moment before it was crushed by the man who seemed to be the second person in command.

“Form C!” The guild troops immediately parted into groups, gathering into a formation that would run better in the narrow space on the first floor. They were all silent as they moved, desperately trying to pinpoint my location with their own sensing skills. Or so I thought. Some witches started chanting and raising their hands, releasing their mana. I could see weak magic spreading throughout the area. They tried to fill the entire area with mana so that they could sense my existence. No matter how great my skills are; if I activate magic in their net, they will definitely sense me. I jumped ahead with Ubiquitous.

“Sana!”

Several attacks flew past me and crashed into my alter ego, destroying it without a trace. At the same time, I cut the neck of the nearest witch. The magic immediately started deep below me from the ground, but I was able to dodge the attack using Ubiquitous again. I hid myself using Surprise and Fairy Tales, waiting for the magical bombardment to stop.

“How much?”

“Do not split! Group them! ”

They were much more prepared than the previous humans I killed, working together in anticipation of my next attack. But, observing them, I knew that there was a guild master among them that served as the core of the guild alliance. Undoubtedly, the troops would be in chaos if they were finished off.

“Master, our team ..”

We need to prepare for the worst. No matter what they say or how they prepare; I lower my sword again at the side of a warrior who leaves the group for a moment.

[You have earned 530,918.].

I brought my sword back to attack again, but I could feel the point of resistance momentarily as it moved through the air. I barely had time to realize what had happened before the small trap was installed, a dazzling burst of light was flowing around me. A lot of mana had been poured into it, enough to blind even a high-level monster. But it does not affect me, who has resistance above the highest level.

“Quick!” The soldiers urged me, thinking I had lost my sight. I easily slid past their attacks, piercing someone's neck with my sword. My Devil's claw flailed, pierced, and cut him.

[You get.].

“Job!”

“Pulling back!” I thought an additional magic attack would be imminent, but it didn't. The faces of the humans around me were filled with fear, doubt filling them.

‘If I fight now, maybe I can get a hit .. but I might kill an ally.’ It was undoubtedly the thoughts that passed through it, which I expected. It was good to see that my plan worked.

“Hei!”

“Do not attack, quickly retreat!” Of course, I still have to be careful with enemy counterattacks. If one of them manages to snap at me, they will use it to take advantage of me and keep pressing. I have dominated the fight until now, but I dance on the edge of the razor all the time. If I want to scare my enemies, my every move should be perfectly coordinated. I slowly attacked the enemy.

A haunting mass on the 6th floor came to my mind, a horde of advanced monsters. I wasn't sure I could handle them back then, so I used Surprise and Fairy Tales to the maximum. I feel the same tension now. These enemies did not possess the destructive power that advanced monsters possessed, but they possessed an unknown variety of abilities and tactics that they could rely on. I can't be too careful of them. I had to keep hiding from them, slipping my sword into the visible crack, being careful not to fall into any traps along the way. ‘It's fun.’

“If you can't find it with detection, use where you are!”

“Sial, are all elf monsters like this?”

“There's a reason why they're hiding. Impurities...!”

What distinguishes humans from monsters is their ability to adapt to situations. To consider options, risk versus benefit, and change tactics accordingly. Right now, the group was considering the situation, considering what they could do to succeed where a much larger advancing force had failed. I will continue to attack them, getting the bloody inch by inch soil and slowly digging out their formation from the outside.

But they're starting to understand.

“Sial, how much is left? We can't keep doing this. ”

“The elves look very similar..”.

“Does anyone kill one and get experience?”

Silence ruled the group, where I took one more life.

There is only one enemy. It was just a whisper, yet everyone here could hear it.

“We made this mistake, there is one person, not a group! They might not even be fairies! It's a monster, not an elf! ” The shout was heard. It took them quite a long time to reach a conclusion, but they had realized it. After all, it was an elite group skill. I feel like I should praise them. “But now it's too late.” I activated the Lunatic Trickster, filling it with items I have collected so far.

A BANG!

The trap was a mixture of various metals, sparks, and ice, spreading through an enclosed area. The humans close to him were immediately destroyed, blood flowed out and covered the soldiers near them who were taking the burden. I just reduced their number to forty-four.

“Form F.” The remaining guild leader, the only one left, gave the order calmly. I don't know what that means.

“We failed... we should not have come here..”.

“Job!” The group began to collapse, trying to escape to the entrance of the dungeon. Most of them were undoubtedly grateful that this battle had taken place on the first floor, and no further. But it's not gonna work. Especially now that they had concluded that their enemy was not a fairy. It would make everything I have done so far go to waste.

[Yeahhhh!]

“Dog hell?!”

“No, it's high level type!”

The group that had escaped a moment before came to a halt, the weapons that were pulled towards the hellhounds now blocked the exit. Those in the front could only advance a few steps forward before the next enemy appeared: a huge troll appeared behind the group and attacked.

[Gooaaahhhh!]

“This is only the first floor, what's with this high-level monster ?!”

But that's not the end. The more middle and rare high-level monsters appeared one after another. Armored snakes, live armor, venomous ghosts .. Strong monsters even if they don't advance. This is what Lee Chan-yu has achieved in his time here, with the new power he has gained as the Beast Ruler.

The monster is not alone?

“He must be the owner of this dungeon.. Damn it, we have to break through!”.

“It's too late.” I muttered slowly. The monsters Lee Chan-yu collected had been waiting to attack until now when humans were disorganized and trying to escape. This is the moment I enjoy the most: chaos, freedom. I jumped through space with Ubiquitous, attacking with my sword and skill through the fleeing enemy. I laughed at the magic attack from one of the remaining witches, smashing it to the ground with my fire magic. I broke a soldier's sword and pierced through his heart, momentarily shocked as he hugged me and approached me.

“Soon!”

The attack that hit me penetrated my defense and exposed my bones. Hope flared back in the eyes of the humans from the fatal wound they had given me. It only lasted for a short while, as the black smoke absorbed the soldier's body and healed my wounds completely. The magician who did the punch lost strength, fell to his knees.

“This is impossible..”.

“Goodbye.” I decapitated it quickly, continuing to move forward through space with Ubiquitous. I can't be everywhere at once with Ubiquitous, but at least it lets me control the space around me.

“Please!” I heard screaming. Less than five humans remain.

“I want to live, please save me! I will never come back! Please!”

I forced myself to stop laughing, watching these fellow men turn away from his plea. His sadness quickly turned into anger.

“God, why! I am the leader who will lead our country to glory.I cannot die here! ” And, like that, the facade was dropped. The man who was relaxed and confident when there was no danger, is now like this when his life is threatened. Undoubtedly, he had enjoyed a high-class life, living as a member of the upper echelon. Undoubtedly, he used his strength to take down people weaker than him as well and enjoyed it just as much as me. He looked at me with hope in his eyes, my hands lowered by my side, and my attitude relaxed. He grabbed my leg.

“Please me! Please help me! I'll give you whatever you want! ”

“Have you saved the life of someone who begged you?” His expression immediately changed. Now he's making a weird face, which I've never seen before. This man considered himself superior to others and valued his life that way. But now the idea turned to ashes before him.

“...No?”

“Good.” My sword swung down, black smoke billowing to absorb his body.

“Then you are no exception.”

[You have gained 817,293 experiences.]

[You have received 16,837 gold and 39 silver.]

[You have obtained three random items from your opponent's inventory.]

[Raise level!]

[Magic increased 1.]

The humans left trembling in fear, dropping all resistance. They freely admitted that they had taken the weapon to kill me and now accepted that they were going to die. The war was over; a small war was taking place in the 7th district of the Black Palace. It was nothing more than a conflict between my desire to survive and the human desire to rule, but it might still be the axis to ignite a larger conflict.

No matter what happens next; my goal is still clear in my mind. To survive, to become stronger. I survived today, and I grew stronger — everything by destroying the wishes of others. But I don't feel guilty. No matter if my enemy is a monster, a fairy, or a human.

I left the first floor and regrouped with Lee Chan-yu, who was relieved that the battle was over. The moment when I was about to conquer the dungeon was getting closer.
