‘Who wins?’
My mind raced. However, nothing will change with just my racing thoughts. So, I decided to bite the arm of the Goblin Fighter.
My health slowly improved and the pain from my wounds subsided.
‘It's good.’
I started moving again. This time I went to another tunnel.
I was in a very quiet tunnel. In this place, a goblin appeared. Now, goblins are nothing to me. I don't even need my sharp steel sword, rusty blades are already plenty. I beat him to death.
[You have gained 9 EXP.]
[You get 1 Bronze.]
The monster domain was clearly not evenly divided. If I had known this, I would have never fought a Goblin Fighter in the first place.
However, what was more concerning than that was EXP. The EXP from fighting goblins had dropped to 9.
It was probably due to the difference between levels. Things like this happen in games often. Catch as many weaklings as you want, but no one levels up. One cannot become stronger. It became very clear.
“Wah…. I think I can go back to the entrance from here. ”
After all I have done to avoid the Goblin Fighters, there is no way he has crossed this path. At least I hope. I threw myself into the tunnel.
How far am I walking? Suddenly, several goblins ran into the tunnel. Instantly I knew that I was closer to the entrance of the dungeon.
“Whits?!”
“Cureeeak!”
First, I used my knife and killed them one by one. I am not familiar with gangs versus one person, but these goblins have no knowledge or skills. They just collectively ran towards me.
I attacked those closest to me first, kicking and slashing them. Their boxing is harmless to me.
There was no longer any space in the inventory for all these goblins, so I carelessly got rid of most of them by eating them.
Now, what am I supposed to do?
Should I stay in this area longer? Or it would be better to check the situation….
I looked for a moment but finally moved forward. Nothing else but that could scare me anymore.
This could be from the instincts of my monster body or the attributes of Ebon's heart. I'm not too sure. However, I do know that it is definitely accurate in determining whether a situation is safe or dangerous. I have felt it since I was born as a Goblin.
Given that I am not in immediate danger, I would also like to see a battle situation. Knowing this will help me plan my future actions ahead.
I walk slowly. The right path seemed to be open, as my footsteps were very suitable.
There I saw some Goblin Fighters on the floor, killed. There are more Goblins than Goblin Fighters.
The floor was covered in red blood. It was a literal blood bath. Moving quickly, I avoided stepping on blood, worried it would cause a sound.
There's a man ahead. Unlike me, these people still have a partner and together, with their original human body.
But I don't envy them. All humans are dead now. The female-looking corpse had been stripped to the bone.
Even watching this, I felt nothing at all. I have witnessed many goblins die and most of them I have also killed. But are the deaths of humans and Goblins comparable? Why don't I feel anything watching this man die?
It's because I've become a monster. If I were human, at least I would feel something. Realizing this fact, I suddenly felt very hollow. However, this is not the time to wallow in my feelings.
I realized the winner had become a Goblin Warrior and for some reason, it was simply devouring the corpses of women.
I've been thinking. Unless you have the Predation skill, it's not like you're going to build strength by eating humans. You eat until you are full and then leave.
Hmm, I guess the only reason why he ate a female rather than two males was probably due to the fact that his flesh was softer.
Turns out I was wrong. It was actually close to humans. I failed to notice its existence, as it was still like a rock.
“Ukkk ......!”
Instinctively I almost screamed, but I immediately shut myself up. This guy's not trying to hide from me. Although, my senses say that I am not hurt.
What the hell is going on?
“Cree, Creeeaaak ....”.
It seemed to me that he was watching me. I didn't know if it was wailing or laughing, but it started heading towards me.
The jacket was torn and stabbed hard. The knife and sword were thrust into the stomach and chest. His bastard sword was lying on the floor.
I have to dream.
One side has no advantage over the other. This is a lose situation.
“Steaking, Creeaak..”.
As I savored the thought, the Goblin Warrior raised his hand towards me. Surprisingly, something emerged from that hand. A very dim white light, like a rope.
It's touching me. I immediately felt a sharp pain all over my body. Lightning, this must be lightning! Goblin Warriors are firing lightning bolts! People like the Goblin Warrior!
He pulled his hand back after a series of attacks. One side of her lips lifted, grinning at me. The Goblin warrior could not even recognize his injuries. Does it really demean me now?
“Kuuuuk...!”.
I can't move now, scared, and in pain. I want to go back and run away. I was almost certain that if it was another Goblin Warrior, it would do it.
However, I ran at full strength towards him. Out of guard, the Goblin Warrior raised its hand once more, and lightning appeared. I can hold it in, as it is weaker than the previous attack.
I forced my tender and aching body to move, grabbing the Goblin Fighter's arm from the inventory. I began to gnaw at him and felt a small wave of energy coming back.
Suddenly, the Goblin Fighters were near me. His eyes are open and closed. This is presumed.
His lightning ability was ahead. Even if it still had the power to use magic to attack, it would use all of it when fighting mercenaries. Regardless of the state of his body, would it really save mana now? This is what you call stupid.
Of course, his weakened lightning ability was more than enough to repel Goblins. But man, Goblins really aren't that smart.
I pulled out my sharp steel sword. The face of the Goblin Warrior had turned completely white and could not move. I stole a glance at his wound, which could not be pierced any harder. Looking at me, he began to slowly pull his body back.
I was wary and distanced myself, considering the possibility of him attacking me with his final strength.
But, he could barely move. As I thought, there are limits to his strength.
With all my strength, every last ounce, I aimed my sword straight at his stomach and inserted it.
“Hukkk!”
He screams in pain. His intimidating arms were incomparable to my thin hands, which he swung to knock me down. I ducked low to avoid it and pushed my sword deeper.
Instead of dropping me, his arm swung through the air and fell to the floor to death.
My revenge worked.
[You have gained 700 EXP.]
[You've got 95 Bronze.]
[Raise level!]
[You have reached Swordsmanship Level 5.]
I think the amount of EXP I gained just by hitting the Goblin Warrior with the final blow was strange. To me, this world seems to benefit a lot from a little effort. Perhaps it was because the mercenaries who should have gained EXP instead died.
In short, it seems like I gained this crazy EXP by killing a Goblin Fighter with just myself.
It hasn't been too long since my last level went up, but here I experienced it again. My body that was once a mess due to lightning magic has now completely and normally healed.
I felt total happiness coming from the bottom of my soul. But I'm not screaming. It would be futile to draw attention to myself, after all I did to escape from the Goblins.
‘Fate is on my side.’
It does. My luck is incredible. It was as if someone somewhere felt sorry for turning me into a goblin, and completely arranged all of this.
I now need not worry and tremble in fear about the Goblin Warrior returning to kill me. It only took this one experience to level up, and I gained a lot of powerful prey.
…A lot of people?
I stopped thinking until this moment and looked at the lifeless body of the Goblin Warrior. It was then that I saw the corpses of women who had been eaten all the way to his bones and the corpses of male mercenaries who had not been eaten.
‘Eating... .human?’
My heart then split into two. When I was human, there would be no reflection. So, it surprised me even more. I was astonished at the fact that I did not feel disgusted at the thought of eating humans.
That's when I fought. For the first time, I rejected my belief that surviving and becoming stronger was not exclusive.
I knew that I had to prepare to kill a human in order to stay alive. But eating humans is a different story. Humans will kill each other to stay alive, but they do not eat each other at all.
So that's how it is.
I realized something. I still consider myself a human being.
Human food is not the only thing I want. Trapped in a small dungeon between Goblin bodies, I have longed for the human life I once had. What a stupid idea.
But one thing is certain. The moment I decided to eat a human, I could no longer identify with a human, even if there was a possibility of me turning around. I can't go back to society.
There was no way I could nonchalantly come face to face with a human. Not my mother, father, brother, or friend.
Standing at a crossroads, my following act was a coward. I put two male corpses into the inventory. A bad decision.
There was no humanity left in me to be left behind, and furthermore I could not help but acknowledge the absolute necessity of my monster body. That's why I decided to put off making a choice. I know I'm talking about myself, but I'm a coward.
“Someday, and maybe not far in the future, there will come a time where I have to make a choice.”
I can justify my actions by convincing myself that when I actually make a decision in the future, it will be made firmly and without hesitation.
Along with the Asshole Sword on the floor, I took out the blade and sword stored in the body of the Goblin Warrior and placed it into the inventory. After that, I individually moved the corpses of the Goblin Warrior and Fighter to a safe location, away from the entrance and the Goblin.
I gave up on the Goblin corpse, because it would take too long to move it.
Finished moving the corpse, I firmly took the decision on the spot.
What an incredible view.
I saw this body. It was so big that I wondered if I could solve everything. However, I have to solve everything in one shot. There was no more space left in the inventory, and I could not allow myself to miss eating the monsters that would make me stronger.
After making up my mind, I tore off the arm of the Goblin Warrior. This muscular arm was very different from the hands of Goblins and Goblin Fighters. There was not an ounce in my body that wanted this food, but I threw away all the thoughts that were interfering with my determination to become stronger.
“Thank you for this meal.”
I finished everything, after taking off her crumpled leather jacket or what had become trash. My Predation skills helped me quickly eat them. It doesn't feel too bad.
At this point, I was outside full but suppressed all emotions and turned my head towards the corpse of the Goblin Warrior. Before I even ate it, I felt my body change.

My sidearm that had become more muscular since becoming a Goblin Warrior became bigger. Moreover, the inside of my body felt like it had grown.
This isn't all. It was different from Level Up. I felt something like I had something new filling my stomach.
I became stronger. But how? I knew right away when I saw the status window.
