Cabe lay on the ground, the Horned Sword came out. Gwen descended just before the dragon reached the range. Black horse back.
As the monster approached, Cabe quickly turned towards the horse. "Can you take him like you did at the dam?"
"No! Air is not my element! If you can make it land—”
The Lady's fingers move in a rapid pattern. "I don't think that he would be very happy to help us!"
Spell exploded. Drake suddenly finds himself bombarded by tiny bursts of energy. They go on and on. The creature tried to fly around them, but they just moved with it.
“Fireworks, Miss Gwen? It's not a holiday!”
The other Drake joined his friend. Prepared for magic, it flew in an erratic pattern, disrupting the pronunciation of Lady's spell. As it moved closer, its huge jaws opened wide. However, instead of fire, a strange fog appeared. Gwen could only remove the fog before it reached them.
"What was that?" Cabe had never seen a dragon use such defense.
“Airdrake doesn't blow fire! They exhale toxic fumes!” The first one, completely confused due to the continuous explosion, fell to the ground with a thud. His partner, however, flew once more, this time to completely crush his opponents. It moved towards Cabe, using the same confusing pattern as before. Cabe knew it wouldn't come in close range. Surprisingly, he found she did not care.
Darkhorse moves to protect her. "I will try to absorb the fog if Miss fails to stop it!"
"No!" Cabe felt strange, as if something was swelling inside him. "Both of you, stay away!"
The authority in his voice was such that no one disputed. A strange but calming feeling filled him. Drake roared, feeling the victory. Cabe remained firm.
When the distance was a little over fifty yards, the dragon seemed to shrink. The closer he flew, the smaller it became. It was no longer in control; they could see it struggling to change its direction. At twenty yards, it was no bigger than a dog. At ten, a little bird.
Three feet from Cabe, that drake is no more.
There was only silence from his two friends. Still brimming with power, Cabe turned his attention to the other drake. The creature continued to struggle, albeit much weaker, against the burst of energy. The witch's eyes glowed. The dragon disappeared.
It was Lady Gwen who first spoke to him. "What are you doing?"
“I sent drake to Penacles. One of their holding cells for wild animals.” Cabe's voice sounded foreign to him.
"I mean the other one."
A smile played on his face, even though he had nothing to do with it. Lady—and even Darkhorse—looked surprised. “The ego is too big; I just reduced the two to a more precise size. ”
She's trembling. The one word he spoke barely even whispered. "Nathan."
Cabe's head feels funny. He put one hand to it and immediately fell to the ground. Gwen was immediately beside him. She opened her eyes and found him looking at her with renewed wonder. The moment was very pleasant, but it was suddenly interrupted by the arrival of several men riding horses. The soldiers from Zuu, to be exact.
The leader, an old veteran with jagged scars all over his face, frowned as he looked around. "What happened to the airdrake?"
answer Gween. "Lost."
“We saw them attacking you. They ignored us. Too much labor for lizards, especially since we all carry bows too.” Each soldier has a bow. That would be stupid for Drake.
“Yes, mistress. We came at Lord Gryphon's request.”
He's nodding. “Then maybe you can take us to the city. Lord Gryphon also expects us.”
The commander grinned, his mouth revealing a row of teeth that were quite bad. "Oh? And who are you?”
“I'm Lady Gwen from Green Manor. This is my friend, Cabe.”
"Mrs Amber!" The man looks very impressed. He looked at Cabe. “A witch too! That's what happened to Drake! Gryphon is going all-out!”
The way the whole group changed. The commander, Blane, promised to give them the best honor guard. He would personally escort them to the Gryphon's lair. It was clear that the addition of witches to the defense of the city was a great moral boost. Especially if one of them is Lady Gwen.
They're riding Darkhorse. Blane, looking at the horse up close, looked at him with expert eyes. “I've seen a lot of good animals, but I'm sure it won't race against them! What'sthat?"
With a smile, Lady pretended to pat her head. “Trah rare. Very strong and fast, but lacking in intelligence.”
Darkhorse snorted and threatened to throw them both. Blane shook his head.
“It looks pretty smart to me. I would not insult an animal like that. It might make me good if I did. ”
The black horse agreed. The commander turned his horse towards the city. Darkhorse brought his friends even with that soldier. They started, the troops followed from behind.
The waves of humanity continued to flow back and forth.
IN THE Dwarf hill REGION, where iron was mined and formed to be traded through Dragonrealm, there was an uproar. The dwarves, who were busy with their tasks, stopped. Many muttered to themselves, as they only knew one reason to tremble like that.
From the long-played mines, scaly heads appeared. It was an extremely precious metal color for the hill dwarves. It roared, causing the small people to rush into their cave. The long and muscular neck, followed by a strong and muscular body, complemented the shape of one of the dragons from the Iron clan.
Not long after the creature came out, another creature appeared. The first observed the area as his colleague walked out into the open. When the dragon was finished, the third revealed himself. The first two were on guard, one was looking over and over. The real one just looks in one direction. It was not the southeast, where the city of Penacles was located, but rather the east.
Tyber Mountain.
The CITY of Knowledge may easily be also dubbed the City of Beauty. Except for Mito Pica, there is no other city like it. Large towers flooded all the other buildings. The pointed tower topped it a lot. Below, more parallel to the men, the park adorns the city streets. The original creators of Penacles did not fight nature to build their metropolis; they worked with it.
Thousands of people roamed the streets, especially around and inside the city's bazaars. The tourists, escorted by Blane's troops, easily moved past the crowd. Their movements were slow enough that they could enjoy the scenery. Cabe, who had never seen such a big city, spent most of his time staring at the crowd with his mouth open. Gwen looked at him and laughed lightly.
“You better close that big gap before someone thinks you're a dragon! In addition, it is not appropriate for a witch to look like a boy from the outside.”
Cabe refrained from commenting that that was how he felt. He turned his attention back to the city, but found new thoughts reshaping his view of the population. Lady has mentioned the dragon. As these thoughts nested, he saw fear and astonishment on the faces. Many people murmured or glanced to and fro, and especially at the column and the two witches. He saw more than one person pointing at him, marking how the line extended into his hair. They would expect a miracle from him, he knew, but he had nothing to give them. Just an explosion of force at one time or another.
He prayed that the Gryphon Lord would be better prepared.
Eventually, they reached the palace, though the palace may be a colorful term for the building. Cabe decided, it must be a fortress. The walls were made of gray stone, and the only entrance was a large iron gate. No decorative columns, no statues—except real gryphon flying—no decorations whatsoever.
