Dragon Realm
Episode 24

A form of breaking through a turbid surface. Others joined in. Unlike guards, nothing dripped from the slime they used. The two of them looked at him with empty eyes like them.

"We're here, Azran." Even though it was dead, there was a hint of resentment in the sound of that form.

The ancient witch also noticed it. He let himself smile. “So I understand. I've also seen that you have a tremendous passion for people who shouldn't. What about you, Tir? Do you also have this spirit?”

The other figure, wearing what was once a dark blue robe, said nothing, but clenched hands.

"So so. Goody! This will help you put more effort into your work! Well, Basil and Tyr, are you ready to accept your order?”

The same tone. Basil, armored and wearing a leather cape. “We will listen.”

"You still know where Penacles is?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"Good! I'm afraid your brain may have been rotting all along. Anyway, I want you to kidnap someone there. ”

Basil gave the ghost a smile. “For this you need us? Your brain must have rotted.”

Azran bulging. "I don't think so. Hm. You two are quite active for undead! Maybe I should hand this over to someone else. ”

"Good! Then we can go back to our break and—”

“You're not going anywhere! It will take a lot of time to call someone else. Moreover, apart from your unusual animation, you are bound by the power to obey me until I let you go. ”

"Or die," added the ghost of Basil with great desire.

“It takes a lot to kill me. Now, about the kidnapping. His name was Cabe; he was a witch. Don't underestimate him. He's my son."

He watched with satisfaction the look on the faces of the undead.

"This cabe is Bedlam?"

“Did your eardrum fall into the space where your brain used to be? He was my son, stolen from me by my damned father! I want him here! If he proves impossible to take, kill him! In fact, kill anyone who gets in the way! That witch, Lady Gwen, will be there. Likewise with Gryphon and maybe others.”

Tyr spoke, and his voice was like an open grave after several generations of rotting. “Why not send us to war with the Three Kings of the Dead? We have a lot of chances if so much power is there. ”

“First of all, my nursing friend, the boy was untrained. Second, the power of the Lady is least effective against the dead. He might throw you out. Between the two of you, you should be able to handle this. ”

Ty turned. There was a disgust in his voice. “Do not force us to do this.”

"Why not? Who better to fight against the awakening of the new Dragon Master than the old one itself? ” Azran laughs. “I give you the full use of your strength for this mission! Listen and now I will explain in detail what you will do!”

He made them kneel, only for vengeance.

The darkness of the night approached them, but something was too disturbing them that they could not sleep. Darkhorse was useless for sleeping, and no one had ever seen Shade even fall asleep. The Gryphon was on the balcony and gazed at the sky and the land beyond.

"Do you feel anything?"

The ruler of Penacles turned to face Shade. “I not only felt something, I felt almost overwhelmed by them. The event is underway tonight. We have to be ready for anything.”

"Like a disappearing star?"

Gryphon nodded uneasily. “You have noticed. The gray mist is trying to cover us. I'm afraid Black has roused his traitorous fanatics. Judging from the close range of the fog, they were no more than two days away from us. ”

"Two days? How's it possible?"

An *******. “When I met them in battle, I knew very little about them. One thing I found immediately was that they rarely rested. They would march day and night for weeks, fight for days, and then march home again. All without sleep. They eat in line. Some say it's because they live inside the Grey Fog.”

“Something else. I have heard that the Dragon Monarch is fighting against themselves tonight.”

Shade nodded. “Good and bad. It reduces our enemies, but makes some people bolder.”

He suddenly held onto the Gryphon's arm and began to lead him in. "I have something to show you."

They stepped into the room. Gryphon began to speak, but his friend kept him quiet. Shade didn't say anything until they were far from the balcony. When he spoke, it was a whisper.

"Something to see and listen from above!"

"What's? I don't feel anyone!”

“It envelops itself well. Fortunately, it wasn't expecting any of my abilities. ”

"What's that?"

“I suspect it was one of Azran's spies. A Finder.”

The Gryphon started towards the door, intending to summon his golem. Shade stopped him, still whispering. "Hold!"

"Why? If he had been here for more than a day, he knew the dangers of the library and the whereabouts of Cabe and Madam! The gods know what else!”

“The golems won't be able to catch him. The Seekers are the oldest magic. Only one who was well versed in such a thing had the chance to quietly. I'll go."

There is little room for argument. The Gryphon knew the witch was right. Simon told him to act as usual. After a while of waiting, he then said good night to the Gryphon and left the room as if intending to return to his residence. King Penacles stared at the doorway.

The Seeker will see a teleportation spell. Shade would be forced up the stairs and then pull himself up to the roof. He hoped the bird would turn the other way. The old Shunning spell that the witch used was most likely to succeed, but Shade had never actually faced any of the creatures before.

He also had little knowledge of the Seeker boundary. It couldn't kill him, he believed, but it might be strong enough to hurt him. He seeks death, for a good cause, not pain. Pain has a way of survival that death does not have.

Shade has reached the end of the stairs. His only option now was to climb through the window and pray that the edge of the ancient roof would hold him back. He started a memory check of all the flight spells that could be used in a very short period of time. He also hoped that he would come to his senses if such a spell was necessary.

Summoning the power of several centuries, he pulled himself up to the roof. No one tried to push him into the empty space. The witch crouched down and scanned her surroundings.

The seeker was there, turning his back, his strong wings folded behind him. Right now, it seemed that he cared about whatever movements the Gryphon made. However, he knew that the task of the creature could change at any moment. Protecting his presence as smoothly as possible, Shade walked towards Seeker.

The magic would eliminate any sound he made, but not for the roof itself. That's how the collapsed part of the roof warns birds of the danger. The witch was just less than effective range for the spell she was preparing for, when, with a silence more frightening than any scream, Seeker launched herself at her.

What he had originally chosen to throw was now useless. Shade was forced to throw a burst of bright light in the hope that it would blind the creature. The Seeker easily passed through, but the spell gave the witch much-needed time. He rolled over and started a new offense. His bird-like opponent turned around with incredible speed and entered for a second attack.

This time, he was ready. Bright red ribbons, two feet in diameter, form around poultry. The creature spins around to avoid them, but the bond gets tighter. Unfortunately, the wings were not included in the trap. The seeker reversed course and then darted through the night.

Shade seeks out his enemy, a force that augments his night vision. Despite this, Seeker was nowhere to be seen. He became concerned that the bird had flown to its master. If that happens…

He was suddenly hit hard from behind. Unable to control himself or his thoughts, Shade nearly rolled off the roof. Only last-minute detention saved him from jumping. He cleared his mind just in time to see the bird speeding towards him, his arms free and his claws open. It's going to kill.

Wrapping his robe around him, the witch disappeared. Seeker was momentarily confused, and that was all Shade needed. Prostrating behind his enemy, he jumped onto the flying creature's back and tried to force it down. The bird hit the roof—

—and leave again soon. Shade finds himself clinging to the bird as it flies into the night. It could not free itself from him, but it convinced itself of its benefits. The witch had trouble surviving. If he lost grip, the creature would not give him time to chant a flying spell.

He receives unexpected help from Seeker. In trying to pull it out of him, it only managed to pull it higher. Now the two of them are locked together in a struggle where Shade discovers that he has an edge in skill, and embarks on one spell that might destroy his opponent. Like witches, Seekers can get hurt, but they are very hard to kill. Shade needs this one dead. No words were allowed to reach Azran.

The spell was almost finished when he discovered that his enemy was also casting.

For all practical purposes, the two spells were the same. Each has recognized the danger represented by the other. The Gryphon, who was observing the sky to see some signs, was the only one who actually saw the explosion. Others just heard an explosion.

One second, both are on. The next instant, the flash of light that tore through the sky caused many to believe that daylight had come. Of the two combatants, there was nothing to see. As if they no longer exist.
