Duda But Perjaka

Duda But Perjaka
Chapter 33

The wind blows strong. Mentari also increasingly shows an orange hue. Gandhi told me everything that happened. Chaca hid her face resting on both knees bent. Her tears were unstoppable.

Lost, he lost all his dreams. He lost before the war. Destroyed, his heart was no longer even shaped. The tightness in his chest grew.

He continued to beat his chest cavity was very tight. The heartbreaking shaking of the shoulders made Gandhi feel even more guilty. He was just as devastated as the sudden decision he made. Just to save 2 lives.

It was very desirable for the man to embrace Chaca's body. Clutching tightly in his arms. But Chaca kept on pulling him off. He's really angry. Real angry. His entire body was already shaking violently, between sad, angry, emotions melted into one.

"Sorry." One word was said softly after the two kept quiet for quite a long time. Gandhi's head was getting bowed in. Holding tightness in his chest.

"Go" Chaca said, barely audible.

Gandhi raised his head, his heart was so sick of Chaca's rejection. He realized, it was entirely his own fault. This is a risk he has to bear.

"I ...."

"Go!" chaca's jolt cut Gandhi's speech.

The man took a long breath. It was heartless to leave the girl beside him alone. But he also can't force Chaca to understand the situation.

Slowly, Gandhi moved. Her eyes continue to stare at Chaca guiltily as well as pain in her heart. His hand wiped away the tears that had fallen from his pair of beads.

One step, two steps, he left Chaca. Stop, then turn back to see Chaca who is still hiding her face. Not looking at the man one bit.

Gandhi breathed heavily, his throat was dry to the point of swallowing saliva. He resumed his stumbling steps.

Suddenly Chaca stood up and ran after him. His body hit Gandhi's back. The thin hand was tightly coiled in Gandhi's stomach. His head sank there, leaning comfortably. Even the man's white shirt was wet with Chaca's tears. Gandhi's body was riveted, he was unmoving.

"May I be selfish, Om? I .. I don't want to lose you. Can you let go for me someday? You ... You've brought half my heart, Om. And now you suddenly break the other half of my heart. You're evil, Om. Even worse than Daddy." Chaca spoke in a wavy and raspy tone due to crying too much.

This is the first time Chaca has spoken to you. Which means he begged gently. The cries that did not subside made it harder for Gandhi to breathe.

"I love you, Om. Although all this time I often have a partner, but in my heart there is only you. Never shifted a bit since long ago. I just want you, Om," he asked again. Even his voice almost disappeared.

Instantly Gandhi turned around, hugging Chaca's body tightly. Smell at the top of Chaca's head. Both are in sadness and disappointment. Fate has played both.

"I love you too, Cha. Hugely. But this is the way of life we have to live. If we are in love, God will bring us back together in his own way. But if we are not a match, I always pray that you will get a better replacement for me in every way. Be patient, I'm sure you're a strong girl." Gandhi's heavy and stamped voice, stabbing Chaca's eardrum to the point of hitting her heart.

Chaca shook her head. He sank his head in Gandhi's chest. His arms clutch firmly at Gandhi's shirt. "I don't want to! I just want to be with you, Om. Don't stay with me" isak Chaca.

Gandhi's broad hands gently caressed Chaca's long unraveling hair. "Please promise me one thing" Gandhi said after a quieter speech.

"What?" ask Chaca in her potent tone.

"Focus on your school first. You should be able to graduate with good results. Make your parents proud. Even if they don't see, but I'm sure one day they'll notice." There was no sound of objection from the girl.

"Your future is still long, I am waiting for the good news to arrive. And, I will decide whether you deserve to be the mother of my children, or not."

Gandhi said that intentionally. He no longer knew how to raise the heart of the still unstable girl. He felt, the reason was logical enough so that Chaca did not despair of continuing her education. Because his future is long.

The man doesn't want to, Chaca is devastated and slumped just because of him. Although he himself doubted how his fate would be over the next few months.

"How's it?" gandhi asked when Chaca was silent.
