Earth Without Dusk

Earth Without Dusk
13. The Good Boss

Today Dusk works as usual in his father's company. Although his mind was still troubled by the incident last night, but he tried to forget it by busying himself in the company.

Dusk had not long been working in his father's company, but almost all employees quickly get to know him. That was because in addition to being beautiful, she was also very friendly to her employees. But about work he remained firm.

At that time Dusk who had just passed the HRD manager room in his office heard the voice of a man like he was crying. There was also a conversation from the HRD manager there. Since the door of the room did not close perfectly, Dusk could clearly hear what they were talking about from behind the door. Yes, Dusk eavesdrop on them.

“This is not the first time you missed work. In a month it can be five times. Out there are still many people who need this job if you are not serious in working,” said Mr. HRD manager firmly.

“I'm sorry once again, sir. As I said, my wife and son were sick when I got permission, sir. I can't just leave them alone at home, I have to go back and forth to take them to the hospital, Sir,” said an employee who is already in his 50s. The employee was wearing a clean uniform. It looks like he works as a cleaning service there.

“I understand Mr. Aris' condition, but this company also has rules, sir. I'm giving you one more chance. This is the last time you missed work for personal reasons. If you still repeat it again, I'm sorry, you please find work elsewhere,” said the HRD manager firmly.

Cleaning service named Aris was seen wiping the remaining wet water with his sleeves. Then he thanked his superiors many times for not firing him at this time.

After that Mr. Aris also came out of the room. In front of the room he passed by Dusk. He smiled and bowed a little, then left the place.

Dusk saw Mr. Aris with a look of pity, then he entered into the HRD room.

“Good morning, Miss Dusk. Is there anything important that Miss wants to say? I should have come to Miss's room if there was anything important, Miss.”

The HRD manager was quite surprised by the arrival of his superiors who were impressed suddenly. The dusk sat right in front of him.

“Nothing matters. I just wanted to ask you about the employee. Does he have any problems with his job?” ask Dusk to the point.

“Oh, whose name was Mr. Aris, Miss. He has not been to work for the same reason several times, taking care of his sick wife and children. This month alone he has five days not entered work,” replied HRD manager.

“Do you know what pain his son and wife? Then has Mr Aris himself been working in this company for a long time?” ask Dusk again. He was beginning to get interested in his employees.

“He has been working for quite a long time in this company, Miss. All I heard was his wife was paralyzed, unable to walk, while his son had problems with his lungs.”

“The father never made sure himself that it was true? Did the company never give compensation to her sick family? You said Mr. Aris has been working for a long time in this company right?”

Dusk gave questions that made the HRD manager silenced. Behind his friendliness it turns out his superiors are very firm in matters of work.

“I'm sorry, Miss. I'm negligent about it. The company has never provided compensation,” replied the HRD manager with a sense of anxiety.

“After this I will arrange the issue of compensation for his family and I will find out for myself whether his wife and child indeed have such a disease, Miss,” added the manager again.

“No need. This time let me take care of it. Please send me an e-mail about the employee's data. I wait now,” said Dusk then got up from his seat.

“Good, Miss. I send it now.”

Dusk nodded then left his company's HRD manager room.

Dusk returned to his room and immediately checked the e-mail sent by his HRD manager. He read carefully the personal data of the employee named Mr. Aris earlier. He was quite surprised to see Mr. Aris who turned out to have worked for almost ten years in his company but still occupies the same position as cleaning service. Dusk immediately recorded the address and phone number of Mr. Aris on his mobile phone.

During lunch break, Dusk accidentally passed Pak Aris who was still cleaning the floor near the elevator area. Dusk continued to pay attention to Mr. Aris from a distance, until finally the cellphone of Pak Aris that looks worn ringing, then Pak Aris picked it up.

“Hallo, Mom. Yes, I still work.”

“Propay yes, Mom. You don't forget tomorrow our son has to go to the hospital. The money already exists. Mom just calm down. Yes, yes, Mom. You continue to work again. Mom and Arman are well at home, yes.”

Such was the conversation that was heard by Dusk. Mr. Aris looked at the phone in his hand and then sighed heavily. It seemed like his burden of life was too heavy for him to shoulder himself.

“Pak Aris,” call Dusk.

“Eh, Miss. Yes, Miss. Can I help you?” asked Mr. Aris nervously and then put the phone into his pocket quickly.

“Mr works until what time is it today?” Twilight asked.

“I was in at 7, Miss. Means to go home at 4 pm,” replied Mr. Aris soberly.

“OK. I'll go home and wait for me, yeah. I'm taking you home.”

Suddenly Mr. Aris was surprised and then turned to his superior. Has he made a fatal mistake? Her thought.

“Not to worry. I just want to see the condition of my family. The HRD manager told me about the problem. I just want to visit my family. Can?”

Mr. Aris immediately glazed over. He did not expect that Dusk was a very good boss and was so attentive to small employees like him. All this time no one had ever noticed him despite his long service at the company.

“What is it Miss visiting my house? My house is not worthy of Miss coming. My house is very small and seedy, Miss,” said Mr. Aris trembling with tears given the appalling condition of his house. He was afraid that his boss would regret coming to his house.

“Father shouldn't say that. I never look at a person based on what he has. The house is small, but if the residents are all big-hearted, then the house will feel spacious. For that, I hope you allow me to visit the house of the Father later in the afternoon,” said Dusk gently so as not to offend the man in front of him.

“Good, Miss. Miss's visit is an honor for me,” said Mr. Aris.

“Alright, thank you for allowing me to visit my Father's house. 4 Hours later, I wait for you in lobby.”

“Good, Miss. Once again thank you for the kindness Miss.”

Dusk smiled and then nodded. Then he left Pak Aris who was amazed at the kindness of his superiors.

“It turns out Miss Dusk was very good. Just like Mr. Andika who is always good to his subordinates. Good people like them may always be made easier by God all his affairs.”

For a person who does not have such as Mr. Aris, the best way to repay someone's kindness is to pray for him.
