"I never should have come to that meeting."
Vincent grumbles after his encounter with the King, upset by his new status he never wanted. Wondering what Sofia or the others reported about her achievements in Angelbarrow City until she got this, the foolish status that directly tied her directly to the Iwreneian Kingdom.
Until now Vincent was still grumbling when he was in the manor provided for his accommodation by Sofia. His face buckled in a huge frown, making the manor servants even a little afraid to interact with him.
Vincent sat in the living room of the manor, taking out a box of cigarettes he had in his pocket. Although he was still wondering where the cigarette came from, because it was always in his shirt pocket after he got to this world. The good thing is, the cigarette box is always full even though Vincent is sure to have spent several dozen cigarettes since his arrival.
"Mr Vincent?" Said a voice, Vincent turned to look in the direction the voice came from. It was a manor waitress here, a woman in her 30s if she guessed correctly and the waitress bowed slightly towards her.
"Yes?"
"Lady Sofia and Lady Alisia come to visit you." Said the servant.
Vincent knows Sofia, but Alisa? Who'sis that? Had he met another noble girl before this? Vincent doesn't feel that way. Putting aside the question in his head, Vincent gave the maid permission to bring her guest in.
"Send them in." Vincent answered, lighting a new cigarette.
Not long after, two women entered the room. The first is Sofia, she wears a bright red dress that shows her shoulders, her hair tied into a bun accentuating her beauty. Another girl who was shorter than Sofia by a few centimeters, wore a purple dress with white frills. Her blond hair was draped with a folding fan covering the bottom of her face. But one thing for Vincent, this girl feels familiar.
Vincent pointed at the sofa in front of him, allowing them to sit down.
"Good day Vincent, or would you rather be called Baron Vincent?" Sofia asked, there was a mockery in her tone upsetting Vincent.
"Forgot this Baron's formality and nonsense, what do you want?" Vincent asked cynically, the annoyance returning in full force as he was reminded of his new status.
"Rude." Sofia replied with a smile, clearly enjoying Vincent's annoyed expression. "Do you not want to know my friend?" Sofia said as she pointed at the girl sitting beside her, half of the girl's face was still blocked by the folding fan she was holding.
"And?" Vincent asked with one of his eyebrows raised.
"Let me introduce myself." Said the girl who was standing while pinching her dress on both sides, bowing slightly and smiling towards Vincent. "My name is Alisia Ronchenie, the second daughter of Viscount Ronchenie. Nice to meet you, Vinne~."
Vincent refrains from banging his head against the table. The noble girl in front of him was Lisa! Or rather Alisia Ronchenie, the noble daughter disguised as an adventure. Vincent feels familiar with his figure.
"Omong empty." Vincent muttered in a low tone that the two girls in front of him could not hear while raising one hand to cover his eyes, hoping to ease the headache that had just attacked.
"So, what do you two want? Was this just a surprise visit or something? if that's true I just assumed that only Lady Alisia here would do that, but not with you." Vincent said while pointing at Sofia.
Sofia's smile widened when she saw Vincent's frown deepened, was Sofia some kind of sadist? Vincent doesn't know, but wishes Sofia wasn't one of those. Honestly speaking, it kind of gave his spine goosebumps. Lisa or Alisia was just giggling with what she was witnessing, clearly enjoying Vincent's annoyance and difficulty.
After a while, Sofia's smile faded and entered into noble mode once again.
"And why should I?" Ask Vincent.
"Because it looks like you are the target in this case, just like me and Alisia here, even though I'm sure Alisia is just dragged into this for following you."
"Considerate. But my question is, do you have any valid evidence? It's not just the assumptions I've given you on our journey." Vincent said while exhaling cigarette smoke, enjoying the sensation to relieve his tense nerves.
"Unfortunately not yet, but my father and I have a few suspects." Sofia said, a hint of disappointment painted on her pretty face.
"And you want me to investigate it too?"
"Yes." Yeah." Sofia said while nodding. "Dad also sent you an invitation to dinner tomorrow at our manor, you can go into more detail there with dad there."
"All right." Vincent nodded in understanding. "Is there anything else you want to say?"
"Pulse... Vincent?" Lisa asked, her face showing a hint of doubt.
"Yes, Lady Alisia."
"It's Lisa!" His reply was excited, as if forgetting his previous doubts.
"Pulse... Will you accompany me to the Ronchenie family manor?" Lisa asked, doubt coloring her face back.
"Why?" Vincent asked, clearly wondering what Lisa was up to.
"Follow it okay! I'll explain later, I promise!" Lisa replied, urging Vincent to accept her offer.
Vincent beats the nervous Lisa after her small outburst, judging the look on the noble girl's face disguised as an adventure before sighing tiredly.
"Alright, but there's no other funny shit, okay?" Vincent said.
"okay!" Lisa answered enthusiastically.
Sometimes Vincent is jealous of Lisa's attitude, can she give him the bit of passion he has? Because at the moment Vincent is in desperate need of that after all the bullshit and trouble he's been through to this day.
His confusion as he arrived in this world was unnatural and unreasonable. Fight against monsters and beasts to earn coins, although the job did not last long. Help defend the city from a platoon of ancient Roman soldiers who had monsters as boosters. That was quite a lot of experience in such a short time.
Not to mention the bandits who have a unique and powerful fighting style called 'material art' made him overwhelmed and now his new status as a noble with many problems that follow.
A tired sigh escaped once more from his mouth, wondering how many times had he done it today? It was more than he could count on with all the crap and trouble that came his way constantly.
