EX-SOLDIER: In Another World

EX-SOLDIER: In Another World
Peaceful City before Storm - Part 3

As a woman, Sofia Mandoze chose her path of becoming a knight according to what she wanted. For some people who didn't know her, they didn't believe a girl as beautiful as Sofia would become a knight if they didn't see her in person.

Born a nobleman, Sofia is committed to becoming a leader and her current responsibilities as a nobleman demand that. Standing in front of his Order, he and his men helped the wounded soldiers to retreat. In accordance with General Hunk's orders, his Order of the Roses would escort the wounded soldiers back to the Fortress of Angelbarrow to get better treatment.

Her long blonde hair gleamed in the sunlight as she watched her Order help the wounded soldiers. Her green eyes looked at the emergency hospital that had been set up in the town square. Standing there, coordinating medicine and healers to aid in the recovery of wounded soldiers.

Everything went according to plan. At least until he heard reports from some of the guards of the fortress that they heard the roar of monsters near the south gate, one of the city's entrances. The news was clearly confusing, as he knew it was rare for monsters to approach the city walls. If a roar could be heard from the nearby forest which was about a 4-hour walk from the wall, it was him to believe. Near the fort? He must definitely ascertain its authenticity.

Sofia and several people from her Order had been outside the walls to make sure the report was correct. Accompanying a guard who had reported about the roar of the savage beast, Sofia began to ask.

"Where did you hear the roar of this beast?"

"Here, My Lady. Please follow me."

Said the guard, leading Sofia to the place where the guard heard the roar of the beast. It didn't take long until Sofia reached the open with a few tree stumps that had been cut down.

His green eyes were like an eagle looking for its prey. Looking at each area to look for the existence of rumored beasts, he had even deployed some of his men to search for those beasts to a wider area.

THE BANG!!

"That! It! Those beasts are all around here!"

The guard shouted in panic when he heard the voice. But Sofia remained calm, her ears looking for where the voice came from until her eyes were fixed on a man wearing a long black coat with a fedora hat accompanied by a female witch.

"You guys are there!"

Sofia called with her authority as a knight. The unexpected thing was that the roar came from the man and the witch. Convinced that the target was the two men, Sofia ran towards them with her Order following from behind.

"Both of You!"

Sofia shouted once more and finally gained the attention of the two people when she was close enough.

"What are you doing here?"

"Shooting exercise?" Said the man, clearly confused by Sofia's presence with her Order. "Do you need anything?" Add the man.

"We got a report about the roar of a savage beast in this area. Is that you guys?"

"Battle beast?"

This time the witch looked confused by tilting her head slightly in a funny pose.

"really? Wild animals? ... Uh! Yes I remember, when I first met Vinne, it was our group in the Quest and goblin hunting and then was surprised by the sound of her weapon. At that time we decided to check for that roar-like sound and we finally found Vinne fighting three Orcs!"

Lisa sounded proud when she remembered that.

"Can you explain it?"

"Introduce the honorable knight. I'm Vincent and this is my colleague Lisa." Vincent said calmly, not intimidated by Sofia's presence. "For an explanation, I guess I can explain this misunderstanding." Vincent gives a moment's pause to be absorbed by the knights, and Sofia just nods to let Vincent continue his explanation. "As you all mentioned, this 'beast star roar' is just a misunderstanding. It's just the sound produced by the weapons I have here, not the wild beasts.I'm sorry if our actions have disturbed you guys and the order of the city, I didn't mean for that. I just want to show this little witch-"

"I'm not small, you idiot!"

"-how my weapons work."

Vincent finished explaining calmly only to be glared at by Sofia. If Vincent is honest, seeing Sofia glaring is a little funny and not intimidating. After all while he was still serving, such a gaze was everyday food and it would not affect him.

"Prove it."

That's all Sofia said as she approached Vincent. Vincent himself just shrugged his shoulders and turned around to look for the target. The one hand holding the weapon stretched out as Vincent positioned himself standing sideways. His eyes found the target, a rather thick young tree and he aimed in that direction. Concentration focused on the target as he pulled the trigger of his weapon.

THE BANG!! THE BANG!! THE BANG!! THE BANG!! THE BANG!!

All the bullets had come out and all hit the tree, tore the log into holes as big as a fist and knocked the tree down.

"And that's how it is."

Vincent said with a satisfied smile then blew the barrel of the smoky S&W 500 Magnum and got a round of applause from Lisa. Obviously Lisa is stroking Vincent's ego here so that he is more happy and proud of the action.

Sofia on the other hand is surprised with her Order to see what the foreign man can do. But to make sure of her worries, Sofia gets an idea.

"Bellina! Give me your shield."

Said Sofia ordering the female knights in her Order to hand over the shield she was carrying. Without a second thought, a woman named Bellina gave her shield to Sofia. It was a small round shield made of iron, designed for bashing tactics and deflecting techniques and then replying.

"Foreign man, I want you to attack this shield with your weapon."

Sofia said while pointing at the shield that her men rested on the tree stump.

"certain."

Vincent said briefly as he refilled his weapon. Just like before Vincent aimed at the shield and opened fire. As he finished shooting one bullet, Vincent looked towards Sofia and pointed towards the shield he shot, stating that he had finished. Sofia orders her men to take the shield and as she regains it, her eyes widen in disbelief.

The armor even the armor of the members of his Order was a quality item forged by famous blacksmiths. He could not believe that with just one strike from the man's weapon, one of his Order's shields had a hole. Although the hole is small, it will be very dangerous! What good is a shield if it cannot withstand an enemy attack? Then Sofia saw the stump of the tree where the shield rests, there she saw a hole as big as a fist that scared her.

'I can't imagine if this shield was held by someone. Surely their arms would be destroyed if the stump of the tree was any indication.' With that in mind Sofia decided. 'This guy is dangerous! What if he was an enemy soldier disguised to create chaos? I have to catch him!'

"Order Roses! Get this guy!"

As orders are issued, Vincent and Lisa find themselves surrounded by knights ready to capture them both.

"Hey?! What the fuck? Was wrong? I said it's just a misunderstanding!"

Obviously Vincent did not receive this treatment well because first he did nothing wrong, secondly he has explained the misunderstanding between them. Then why did he get this kind of treatment, and not just himself was captured. Lisa is also trapped in the same situation as herself.
