Figurant Wife

Figurant Wife
Just Calista

"Dio!" Shanty's mom raised her tone. "When should you wait? Mama wants you to get married so you have a sense of responsibility in your life!"

"Responsible?" Dio smiled cynically. "Dio already has responsibility for Dio's own business. If you want Dio to take responsibility for Papa's companies then give that responsibility to your second child." Dio.

"Dio!" Mr. Mahesa who did not accept Dio speaking like that also raised his voice. "Your sister is too small to continue Papa's business. You should've continued Papa's business because you were the eldest!" Said Mr. Mahesa firmly.

Dio shook his head. "Never force Dio to be what Mama and Papa want." Press Dio.

Ms. Shanty also held her husband's arm as a sign that her husband would no longer continue his words.

"Remember Dio, you still have an appointment with Mama if you will comply with any requests from Mama by the time you are thirty. And now you're thirty-one." Said Mrs Shanty.

Dio was silent and reminded of the incident a few years ago when he almost lost his beloved Grandmother and at that time Dio promised to obey his mother's order to marry his Grandmother if his age had entered thirty years.

"Dio will marry Calista soon." Answer Dio.

"alright. I accept that he is your best choice. Get Calista in front of Mama and marry her." Said Mrs Shanty.

Dio nodded his head with a sure face in contrast to his hesitant heart considering Calista was very difficult to bring back to the homeland.

"If in three more months you don't manage to bring the woman back then you should marry the woman of your choice!" Bu Shanty said firmly as Dio was about to depart from before them.

Dio's steps stopped. His heart was beating so fast listening to his mother's words.

"Mama just wants you to get married, Dio. All this time you've always denied the words of Mama and Papa. For this time be a submissive child by obeying the words of Mama. If you don't want to, then you better not consider Mama, Papa and Grandma part of your family." Said Bu Shanty with a soft tone.

He's not looking. But now his hands clenched to hold the tightness in his chest heard the soft voice of his biological mother. Dio continued his steps out of his Papa's office without saying a word.

"Mama, don't cry." Mr. Mahesa tried to calm his weeping wife after the departure of their son.

Ms. Shanty rubbed the tears flowing down her cheeks.

"Mama just wants the best for Dio, Pa. But Dio doesn't want to understand. How long will he have to wait for the woman to return? It's been six years that the woman's gone and never coming back. She's too focused on her education regardless of our child's increasing age and deserving of marriage." Said Mrs Shanty.

Mr. Mahesa was just silent not to discuss his wife's words because now something is starting to enter his mind.

"Mama and Papa never understood what I wanted. I love Calista very much. No other woman can fill my heart but her. I'm sure only Calista is best for my life." Dio said as he continued to step up.
