After the isa prayer, Lisna told me on her alphabet. It is only God where he complains and shares his sorrow and pain.
"O Allah, grant the servant patience. Strengthen the servant of Allah. It really hurts.. I hope all this is just a misunderstanding. But, what later if it turns out that what I thought was true. What should I do, God."
Lisna's tears spilled quite a lot this time. He hasn't cried like this since he married Fauzi. However, indeed remembering the incident earlier this afternoon really made his heart hurt and like the world was about to collapse.
"I'm afraid, O God. I'm afraid that it's happening again."
Lisna was crying in silence. She wanted to ask her husband directly, but she was too afraid that her question would backfire and make Fauzi angry and reverse the fact that she still could not get pregnant as well.
One of the reasons Lisna is so patient with a husband who does not give her a living is because she is aware she has not been able to present a baby in the middle of their household life.
"I believe and trust God that You will repay my patience with my husband. And O Allah, I beg you, may this patience be received and become a field of reward for your servants.. O Allah, soften the heart of your husband, open the door of your guidance for him. I'm glad, God, if my husband is eventually going to be unemployed. But, if one day my husband finally decides to marry another woman, what should I do O God. I was afraid that when it happened my patience would become wrathful.."
Lisna was really thinking about things that had never bothered her mind before. But, the past few days, her heart had continued to suspect her husband. The suspicion began with the smell of perfume on the body and also the clothes of her husband.
Sayup Lisna can hear the sound of the Fauzi motorbike that just came home from Wulan's house. Lisna immediately wiped her tears and stepped in to welcome her husband's return.
"Mas, are you home?" Sapa Lisna opened the door while smiling sweetly at Fauzi.
"Yes, honey. Sorry, I'm home late."
"It's okay, man."
Lisna took over the helems Fauzi was holding, then they stepped in not forgetting Lisna closed the door again.
"Will you take a shower or eat first?" Lisna asked who put the helmet into place.
"Eat first, hungry.."
I'm sorry Lis. Actually I've eaten, but there's something I want to say to you. I think talking about this at the dinner table would be better.
"Mas, let's eat. How to fuck." Lisna was confused to see Fauzi who looked dreamy sitting on the sofa.
"Yes, baby."
Fauzi stepped into the kitchen.
"Tumben, you've always called me dear these few days?" Lisna keceplosan said so.
"Because I want to call my wife like that. Or do you mind if I call you that?"
"No, I'm happy." Answer Lisna quickly.
He began to put rice and side dishes into the dish, then after it was ready then given to Fauzi. Then, Lisna also poured water into the glass to give to her husband.
"You didn't eat?" Fauzi asked when he saw Lisna just sitting with him without eating.
"I'm full, mas. Had eaten first, sorry mas because I really lager home from the office, so eat first."
"Oo that. It's okay, honey. You are right, when hungry you have to eat right away. Don't starve yourself for waiting for your husband. You will have stomach pains." Fauzi said as he met the food in his mouth.
For a moment the atmosphere became silent, only the sound of Fauzi chewing his food. Lisna was deep in thought. He was hesitant to ask about the little girl Fauzi met this afternoon.
Should I ask? But, how to ask that so as not to provoke emotions mas Fauzi..
"What's wrong with you, Lis?" Fauzi's voice resuscitated Lisna from her daydream.
"Mmm. I'm waiting for you to finish eating. Because there's something I want to ask." Honest answer.
Lisna decided to just ask about her suspicions. Because one of the keys to household harmony is to maintain good communication. If Lisna kept quiet, there was no Fauzi who would tell her anything either. Eventually their relationship will grow tenuous and slowly become a stranger who lives in one house.
"Not adding? He said hungry.."
"It's full, baby. Thanks for the delicious food."
One of the things that made Lisna stay in this marriage, was because Fauzi always appreciated whatever she was given. Like praising his cooking, saying his thanks and affection.
Yes, even though Fauzi is not understanding at all. Likes to have Lisna do other work when Lisna even just came home from work. But Lisna understood that, because indeed she wanted to be a good wife who, despite working outside, could still serve her husband with the best service.
Well this is what makes Fauzi a disdainful husband, such as choosing to be disruptive and not trying to find a job to support Lisna. After all, according to him, Lisna did not seem to mind at all about it. Liz never complained at all. If Lisna complained tired, it seemed like Fauzi would feel a little guilty and sorry for his wife.
"You ask me what, baby?" Repeat Fauzi when Lisna doesn't talk.
"Mmm. but I have to promise. Don't be angry later."
"Yes. I promise I'll listen to you first, and then I decide whether or not to get angry."
Lisna took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly.
"Actually gini mas, this afternoon I saw mas pick up a little girl in the same kind of kindergarten as Mirna's son. I happened to pick up Mirna's daughter earlier.."
Hearing that, Fauzi's blood seemed to flow quite profusely, until he felt his heart rate getting faster.
"Who's the little girl, my. I also heard him call the mas papa." Lisna asked in a soft voice and tried to remain calm even though she was actually holding back the overflow of emotions within her. Suspicion almost overpowered his patience.
"He's the son of my boss, Lis." Honest answer.
"Then why did he call papa?"
"Because I'm going to marry the little girl's mother." Fauzi replied honestly while closing his eyes.
Duarrr..
Lisna was like hearing a bolt of lightning shooting right in her heart.
O Allah, sabarkan servant. Help me to be strong and patient, O Allah.
Lisna took in her breath repeatedly with a slow and hearty heart. She did not want to be seen that she currently felt an overwhelming sense of tightness in the presence of the unemployed husband who had betrayed her.
"I'm sorry Lis. Actually I became the private driver of the widow that my mother chose for me to make my second wife. I just can't resist your mother's wishes, Lis.."
"Why do you say it now? Why don't you just introduce the widow to me, ma'am." Tanya Lisan was very calm.
"Lisna, aren't you angry?"
Fauzi felt astonished by Lisna's attitude which seemed very calm as if nothing had happened.
"What am I angry for, my. I am self-conscious about my weaknesses. Mama's right, by marrying the widow, you will definitely get offspring."
Lisna tried to smile when the corner of her lips clearly looked trembling. And that smile really made Fauzi feel like the most evil husband in the world.
"Married quickly, ma'am. Don't play behind my back. I don't want to live with a husband who's in bed with another woman without any marriage ties."
"Lis, I didn't do that. I just…"
"Marry her immediately, mas. But don't divorce me. I'm not ready to end this marriage. I'll leave after I feel like I can live without you, mas." Lisna's words cut out Fauzi's words.
Lisna affirmed her wish that she should not be divorced by her husband. No. gabe. Lisna was not ready to lose the person she loved anymore. Yes Lisna is not ready.
