Chapter 3: The New Era

Large-scale earthquakes occur all over the world resulting in historic buildings being destroyed - not just that suddenly in a sky, the plains and seas began to appear a portal that opened wide and then out creatures such as zombies, mutated wolves and much more for that the entire country began to form barricades using heavy weapons.

The battle between humans and portal creatures occurs so fierce because firearms are not effective on portal creatures that scientists continue to research to find ways to fight back so that humans become superior in battle. However, everything did not last long as the portal creatures started popping up a new kind which resulted in the battle back becoming difficult.

Once again the entire country was devastated by the impact of the portal creature when humanity was in despair and a sense of surrender suddenly appeared a human figure with a special ability capable of launching magic attacks, super strong bodies and very foreign weapons are now referred to as Gate Hunter

Gate Hunter is a human who has special abilities and has a system with them that helps in the development of character so that it has powers beyond human reason. So, the case of having this power does not just get it because they have to get recognition from the system that is now called the Gate System.

With the Gate Hunter that has sprung up all over the world, the portal that opens starts to slowly close until one year later now the entire portal or door is closed tightly but will open again in a matter of time retreating on the door like a time bomb.

Gate, portal, portal, this gate or gate is the name for a tool that connects the monster world with the human world which is currently tightly closed and guarded by the Hunter Gate and will conduct a raid or attack if it is time. Gate has its own difficulties for example Gate Class S, A, B, C, and so on, D and E that's the entire level gate after successfully making the whole gate closed now the whole world makes the Hunter Gate into a job that will earn income depending on the raid and the number of monsters that have been killed.

Not only that now with the existence of crystal stones that appear when killing monsters make technology advance with endless energies making the previously destroyed world become magnificent with new things. However, the gate monsters would continue to arrive if it was time therefore they set up a guild consisting of a myriad of Gate Hunters from various worlds.

Crystal stones are used as a power source such as electricity, water, fire, etc, the ground and others according to the elements of the crystal stone even with the material makes humans able to create a weapon that will work when it hits the monster gate and many more uses of crystal stone but scientists are still continuing to research and conduct experiments to unlock all the benefits of crystal stones.

Now peace is created with the Gate Hunter makes all people who are not selected to be calm with their existence. However, there are some Gate Hunters who utilize their status to gain power but take it easy because such Gate Hunters will only be exposed to the karma they call the karma gate.

Karma gate makes Gate Hunter will stop developing if killing to humans who are not selected by the Gate System but to make Gate Hunter more respected now the government builds Hunter Association that will create the harmony between Gate Hunter and the general public which will work together is Gate Hunter hunt monsters and create peace, while the general public will give prizes such as money and positions to the Gate Hunter that has been meritorious.

Now the year 2060 has become a new era for all humanity that will always live side by side with the gate without knowing the cause of the emergence of the door. However, scientists will not stop figuring it out until they get information about the creator of this gate.

Two years after the incident I am now 17 years old by becoming Gate Hunter of the Government of Indonesia precisely a guild number 5 in the whole world which is the access to teleport to other guilds with status the highest number is guild number 1 in the United States.

Our status can be seen by the receptionist who will determine we get a rank and gate with a level depending on the rank we get for example I get Rank C means I will get a gate with a level Class D or my rank but not everything can be seen by the receptionist because it requires permission from the owner himself in this case, I pretended to have killed a monster with Rank E-C by hiding the truth that I had defeated a dragon with Rank S.

Of course I don't want to be a tool of the state because I still have a goal to accomplish and I forgot to tell you that Gate Hunter won't get karmic if it kills a fellow Gate Hunter but this it rarely happens because they will definitely rethink when fighting against fellow forces beyond human reason.

I've been a Gate Hunter for 2 years now, while being an official Gate Hunter is only 1 year old even though I am still relatively young but the guild leader knows the power I have so he gave me permission to follow the gate according to rank but in the country others there are so many Gate Hunters with a very young age even I have heard of some 15 years old.

But it's none of my business because right now I need money, connections and status to make myself more free in the move but still I reiterate that the status I mean is not a state asset but rather more trusted by those who are often referred to as the higher-ups of the hunter association so that I will have freedom of movement.

"Old man explain to me all this!" jack said while showing the paper

"Jackie you should have been slower when you opened the door, don't destroy it, but I fixed it and then it was about the paper..."

Jack stared intently at the guild master until he told him that Jack must be in a Gate Class B because his ability was sufficient. However, Jack did not want him to go up faster because it would make suspicious the top of the hunter association that would result in him being forced into a state asset and that should not happen.

This old grandfather was not careless even though his age was old but he was the level of Gate Class S who earned the nickname White Tiger. So, anyone would feel numb or mentally down when seeing the white aura coming out of his body and at this moment it seemed that he was serious.

Mental down will not affect me because I am immune to all the bad status I got after killing the dragon on the island before even so at this time I will lose against him due to the difference in experience in fighting.

"If you know that, then why give me Gate Class B?" jack looked fearlessly

The assistant of guild leader number 5 entered into an atmosphere that was not wearing even barely being able to move an inch at the sight of the white aura.

"Old grandfather you better keep that white aura of yours!" jack looked at the assistant

"What the two of you did was a selfless boy and an old geezer who had no recollection of his own age. So, stop making something childish like this!" the assistant shouted while letting out his aura

"Tch, old lady can you not make things worse with that rotten aura of yours!" jack said, throwing his face away

The assistant hit with all his strength until the wind blew the floor but Jack managed to avoid the blow without getting hurt.

"I'm not going to ask about the reason because you've helped me a lot. So, I trust you but next time tell me if you give me something like this!" jack said in front of the door, glanced back and left

The assistant was still angry with Jack even wanting to land a punch right in the direction of Jack's face but he always failed to even barely hit a hair from him.

"Lucia stop your beauty completely gone and your husband will break your marriage!" he said seriously

"Abbay can you be more serious!" lucia said with an angry look

"Hahaha, of course I'm serious but you won't be able to land a blow on him even I can't fight him!" abbay said with a serious face

Right because it all happened during Jack's acceptance period which required him to do a duel and at that time there was only Lucia and Abbay nothing else because he was doing a raid. At that time he was 16 years old but somehow his aura was able to fight against the white aura of Abbay even there was not a single blow Abbay hit him, this kid is already at the same level as Gate Hunter Class S.

"Hm, your thinking is correct but when he fights me with his bare hands of course the one who will win is me but when he uses a weapon like Sniper Barrett that he brought for sure I will not be able to twitch at all he really is the strongest Gate Hunter I've ever seen after Jacob Wister!" abbay

A Class B Gate was counting down and the time was 10 minutes when this time many Gate Hunter Rank B and Rank A gathered. Each of them has their own group and this is one of the reasons why I don't want to ride too fast because I'm always alone in completing the gate instead this will be the center of attention if I do something the exaggeration.

"Tch, I'd better find a group that still has slots!" jack said in a soft tone
