GENK DUDA ACUTE
46. A Story of the Past (1)

Santoso is a young 27-year-old lawyer who looks quiet. His body is thick with a round face shape and looks always serious. But who would have thought he liked to joke even though sometimes his expression was unusual.

Danawira's Law Firm is where he began his career as a lawyer for public cases who often served in the field. Santoso is a persistent worker and is able to keep his clients from moving to another heart. The service is often said to be very satisfying because the totality works.

Three years ago, he was a fresh graduate who tried his luck by entering a job application to Danawira’s Law Firm through a job search site.

Strict selection when applying at the Dean's office makes Santoso proud, when the prospective applicants are only four people left including him.

Santoso could not forget how he and three other people, undergoing discussions with the owner of the law firm where he applied. They had to answer questions from the oriental-faced man who put on a flat look the entire time.

Four people who had been close friends during the selection period, at that time appeared like enemies. They all answered each other, refuted each other, cornered each other under the watch of a man who listened to them by crossing both hands on his chest.

The man is the owner of the law firm. With the last name used as the name of his office. Santoso heard that the man was an overseas graduate with a satisfactory predicate.

At that time, Santoso's expectations were great to be accepted. Besides because he really wants to develop his career, as an overseas child, Santoso feels he must immediately get a job to connect life in the capital.

Unfortunately Santoso, of the four suitors, was the only male. When arguing with three women, Santoso was cornered and lost. He was not accepted to work there. The dream place to work for men who aspire to become young executives and start a career as a professional lawyer.

That afternoon, Santoso who lost the debate just said, “I let you win because it should have been so. Women are never wrong. I am the man just want to complete the nature,” said Santoso at the time.

Unexpectedly, Dean Danawira Hartono, LLM, immediately reached out his hand. “Santoso, welcome to Danawira’s Law Firm. Start work tomorrow. Make three other people, please meet Mr. Ryan to claim transportation costs during the acceptance test.”

Santoso. He did not expect what he had just heard. The narrow-eyed man who throughout their discussion was very cruel, it turned out to be able to smile as well. He really didn't expect to be accepted.

Santoso who just finished his law degree at that time had asked. “My accepted cookies, sir? Their answers are right all,” concluded Santoso, astonished.

“Responding correctly is easy. But being right when wrong, it is a soft skill that is not carelessly owned by people. Skill tickled his name. You meet the criteria I was looking for.”

Santoso did not understand the mind of his prospective boss at that time. He considered the owner of the law firm to be very eccentric. But, the opportunity given to him will not be wasted. Santoso is ready to prove that he is indeed worthy of being accepted to work at the place.

Since then, Santoso began his career at Dean's law firm.

Return to the office room where Santoso still stands three steps from Musdalifah who holds the tray. That morning he had just finished the file on behalf of Toni Setyo Anderson. As promised yesterday, this morning they will discuss the light case.

“Where is the discourse? Here, or—”

“Here aja,” says Dean, cut off Santoso's greeting. “Gue more time this morning.”

For some reason, Musdalifah was a little creepy when he heard Dean say that. He wishes Dean were busy and there was no time for them. Facing Santoso's crisp speech, not too heavy if not accompanied by Dean's gaze.

“Ryan where?” ask Dean to Santoso. “Call Ryan. Let him be asked to sit here,” continued Dean again.

“I put this tray first,” said Musdalifah, lifting a small tray in his hand.

“No need for Mus. Let me just. My darling is late. Must have been enough to sit down. Let me be ready to drink.” Santoso took the tray from Musdalifah's hand. Dean sneered with pride at Santoso's attitude.

Musdalifah just narrowed his eyes not answering Santoso. He rushed to the sofa and sat down next to Toni. There was a little bit of unrest if he had to sit next to Santoso. He was worried that Dean would immediately greet the two of them and congratulate them. Musdalifah.

“Ya, call me, Sir?” ask Ryan.

“Iya Ryan .. I call elo. You just sit there. Single sofa in the middle. You become a jury. Or you just look at the conversation here,” pinta Dean. He pointed at the large sofa in the middle.

“Ih, I have a job ..” hanker Ryan. “Lagian sitting on the middle sofa anyway. Like it's another birthday,” he added again.

“Kan—kan, sebel lo, right? The more you sebel, the more I told you to sit here.” Dean still pointed at the single sofa and looked at Ryan.

Ryan sighed and sat down on the single sofa Dean had chosen. Santoso then sat down next to Dean, opposite Musdalifah.

“Ton, we're like another family meeting yes,” Dean said suddenly. He chuckled alone realizing their sitting position. “Known Mr. Toni .. This is my boy, his name is Santoso.” Dean chuckled again.

“Iya also yes,” welcome Toni, turn around looking at their sitting position.

“Wah, coincidence indeed. Last night we went home together to look like a family. Coupled with the presence of Mr. Mustafa which adds to our impression as a warm family.” Santoso said that casually.

“Wow .. 'have come home with it. Dear Mr. Mustafa did not come. Though we need another witness here,” Dean said.

“Make me all should be there basically,” Musdalifah said.

“At least, yesterday it was nyicil one basis. Basic care. Cie .. Santoso,” said Dean again.

“Truly a very fruitful conversation,” hissed Ryan, throwing his gaze at Dean who was still giggling.

“Sorry, I don't like the mediocre.” Musdalifah sat across her legs and sneered.

“Denger himself, right? Why did I choose Mus to be my secretary? Because he doesn't like the ordinary. Hence, the boss is also like me, amazing.” Toni unconsciously defended her secretary.

“Gue really offended, yes .. All lawyers at Danawira’s Law Firm nothing mediocre. Show your advantages, So!” Dean pats Santoso on the shoulder.

“Ehem!” Santoso cleared his throat, then advanced his seat.

“Lack of work,” hiss Ryan again.

“I was once a clown for someone who now laughs with others. Keep it entertaining even when it's broken. But there is something in me that can make Mbak Musdalifah curious if not wriggly it ...”

“Kalo has been looked at, So?” ask Dean.

“Bakal overthinking,” sahut Santoso, kalem.
