98. Wait for Us

After finishing the session once again, Toni and Wulan left the room at dinner. They headed straight for Bu Anderson's room to take the woman to the dining room. Wulan saw the look on her mother-in-law's face as usual. There was no curiosity, questioning or feeling that he was a stranger in the house. That immediately added to Wulan's confidence.

At the dinner table, Wulan served her mother-in-law first. He was like a passionate son-in-law looking for face. Actually he was a little embarrassed of Toni, because he looked so enthusiastic about offering this and that to his mother-in-law.

“Sorry Mami, we were in a hurry, because I was worried about Mami being alone at home. So we went straight home. Not perfect to stop by to buy orchid flowers.” Wulan who was sitting next to her mother-in-law, put down the spoon and rubbed the woman's hand.

Ms. Anderson nodded slowly. “Ya, already. It's nothin. Next time,”.

Wulan feels bad. The promise of buying orchid flowers has been a long time. Many years ago. A nurse had been standing next to Bu Anderson's wheelchair to bring the woman back to the room.

Toni and Wulan followed from behind. Then, after helping to move her mother to the bed, Toni stood next to her mother. Wulan sat on the edge of the bed watching the Head Nurse check Ms. Anderso's blood pressure. Wulan observed while tidying up the blanket covering the lower part of her mother-in-law's body.

The head nurse placed a stethoscope for a while on Ms. Anderson's chest. His forehead is a little bit. Toni immediately felt that the woman would definitely say something to him.

Toni kissed the top of her mother's head, then rubbed the woman's cheeks before they finally left the room.

A young nurse was still sitting next to Ms. Anderson, to wait until the woman fell asleep.

Outside the room, Tony immediately asked. “What's the Why Mami? Not healthy?” ask Toni.

The head nurse held a stethoscope around her neck. “ His pulse is weakened and quickly irregular. I'm just worried about Ms. Anderson's heart. But, for now, it seems fine. His health is up and down. Upon hearing that, Wulan turned her mother-in-law's bedroom door shut. Her mother-in-law may be a little seriously ill. As they were chatting in front of the television earlier, the woman's voice did indeed sound very weak.

“Doain aja mami nothing. Don't worry,” said Wulan, lifting one arm of Toni and hugging the man's waist. Toni nodded still with a frowning forehead. They went back to their room to rest. Their intention was really to rest, after last night they only slept for no more than two hours.

But as with any newlyweds, even though their bodies are tired, it seems like spending the night sleeping in bed without doing anything is so detrimental. Moreover, Wulan had left Toni's big bed many years ago. It would be a loss if they went straight to sleep that night.

After a long kiss, Toni again unbuttoned for the sake of his wife's pajamas. He could not just miss that night. The power is still strong. He could still go through a few more sessions. Now, he could not wait to reunite his body and Wulan.

A long while ago, they had been panting back together naked. With Toni holding his wife under his burly arms and stiffened thigh muscles. Wulan's legs were still folded in front of her chest. Toni's two hands held Wulan's hands together on the woman's head. They had just reached the summit point together. Their eyes are looking at each other. Let go of the loving spotlight for each other.

Then, Toni's cell phone rings over the nightstand, surprising them. They immediately looked. Toni immediately released her body from Wulan and crawled to grab her phone.

The display of names in front of the screen made him flinch. ‘Head Nurse’.

“Ya, Sus?” ask Toni directly.

“Pak—Pak, sorry to interrupt. Bu Anderson fainted—cardiogenic shock. Suddenly woke from sleep complaining of pain in the chest—”

Toni couldn't listen to the Nurse Chief's words. He dumps his cell phone and picks up clothes.

“Lan, Mami—Mami,” says Toni panic.
