20. The Heart of Joni

Tonight Nadia sleeps in the waiting chair of the hospital. Her body was wrapped in a blanket to warm herself. Joni and Nathan's doctor were sitting not far from him. Narto went home to rest.

Joni sat down next to Nathan. Her tears are dripping. He looked again at Nadia's sad face. She never saw again Nadia's pitiful face after the wedding. Now, he saw that face filled with sadness again. His heart felt sick.

Tears in the corner of his eyes. He looked at Nadia. The woman looked calm now. Joni breathed a sigh of relief.

"You seem to love him very much." Nathan glanced at a glance. Actually, he found out that Joni had shed a few tears earlier. But he pretended not to know. For a man, crying is sometimes embarrassing.

"I've been following him for over two years. He's like my own brother, Doc."

"Ooo."

"I know what happened to him more than anyone."

Joni remembers how she lived before she knew Nadia. He is a heartless man. He does not even love his own wife. Joni used to be as depraved as Juragan Bondan. Nita was forced to marry the woman she now loves so much.
