A long time ago there was a King who had a Prince. Shahzada, thus the prince's name, had a ball made of gold that he always played with at any time.
One day while the prince was sitting in his resting-house in the palace courtyard, a grandmother passed by who was about to draw water from the spring located in front of the palace gate. A prank idea arose in Shahzada's mind. He threw the old grandmother's urn with his golden ball. The jar was also broken into pieces. Without saying a word the grandmother took the other urn. But this urn was also broken because of the throw of the Shahzada ball. The old grandmother trembled withstanding anger. But because he was disinclined with the King, he just kept quiet and went to the nearest store to owe him a new urn. But again Shahzada threw the urn with the ball until it broke. Now the grandmother was really angry. He raised his face towards Shahzada.
“See my curse this Prince! I hope you will fall in love with the mute Princess!” the curse.
Prince Shahzada did not understand the old grandmother's intentions, but her words continued to disturb her mind. This affected his health, and Shahzada fell ill. Dozens, doctors, healers and shamans have tried to treat him, but his health has never recovered. Finally one night the King approached his only son.
“My child, your illness is definitely not an ordinary illness. Tell me! Have there been any strange events lately that have happened to you?” ask King.
Shahzada recounts his behavior while breaking 3 jars of a grandmother and the curse he threw. Then Shahzada asked his father's permission to go find the Mute Princess, because he thought only he could cure her. With a heavy heart the King allowed his beloved son to leave with the company of a guard of his trust.
Long story short, Shahzada and his bodyguards have been wandering for six months. They walk day and night and sleep only for a few moments each night. Now they arrived at a mountain peak whose earth and rocks shone like the light of the sun. To their astonishment they asked a grandfather who happened to be passing by.
“That's because the Princess is mute,” said the Grandpa. “He wears 7 layers of veils covering his face. But the rays of her beauty still radiate and reflected on this mountain.”
“Where is the princess?” ask Shahzada.
“If you keep walking straight for another six months, you will arrive at his palace,” Grandpa said. “But I need to remind young people! The mute princess is just a nickname. Because the princess actually just doesn't want to talk. Many were already young men who tried to get him to talk but to no avail. Unfortunately for them, because it is death that they must accept.”
Shahzada was undaunted by the news. He remained determined to meet the Mute princess.
Some time later they arrived at the top of another mountain. This mountain was also very strange because all the land and rocks were blood red. A village appears to lie at the foot of the mountain.
“I'm very tired,” said Shahzada. “Let's take a break in the village down there. We all buy supplies.”
They also went into a food stall. The owner greeted them warmly. Shahzada asked why the mountain they had just descended was blood red.
“Oh it's because of the Mute Princess. Although he wears 7 layers of veils covering his face, but the color of his lips still radiates on the mountain,” said the owner of the stall. “But young people, there have been many young people who tried to get the Princess to talk but everything has not worked out. And death is a punishment for those who fail.”
“I'm not afraid,” said Shahzada. “Tell me, how far is the Princess' palace?”
“Three more months of travel you will arrive at his palace,” said the stall owner.
After a grueling journey, prince Shahzada and his bodyguards saw a mountain again. At its peak stood a very magnificent palace. The Mute Princess Palace.
The Palace of the Mute Princess when viewed up close turned out to be very terrible because the wall was built from human bones.
“We must have a mature plan to be able to make the Princess talk, or our bones will also be part of the walls of this palace,” said Shahzada. “Let's find lodging first to think!”
The next day Shahzada and his bodyguards went for a walk to get an idea. In a market he saw a beautiful nightingale. Shahzada immediately bought it and took it to his room. Once when Shahzada was daydreaming alone, he heard someone greeting him.
“What do you think, Prince?”
Shahzada was surprised that there was no one else in his room. He then realized that his nightingale was talking.
“Subhanallah, this must be a miracle of Allah,” thought Shahzada.
He recounts his journey to meet the Mute princess and his difficulty finding a way to get the Princess to talk.
“Don't worry Prince, I'll help you. The princess wears 7 layers of veils. No young man has ever seen her face, nor has the Princess ever been able to see the young man who met her,” Bulbul said. “Besok take me to the palace. And if you've been in the Princess's room, put me under the lamp post. Then greet the Princess. He will not answer you. Well, tell me that since the Princess won't answer then you'll talk to the lamppost instead. And I'll answer it.”
So Shahzada, Bulbul and his bodyguards went to see the father of the daughter of Mute in his palace. He asked permission to try to get the princess to speak. Shahzada and Bulbul are then escorted to the Princess's room.
“Good afternoon Princess,” said Shahzada.
The Mute Princess certainly did not answer.
“Well, since you won't answer, I'll talk to the lamppost. Maybe he has more feelings than you,” said the Prince.
“How are you?” ask the prince to the lamp post.
“Pretty good. After so many years there is finally someone who wants to talk to me,” Bulbul said as if a lamppost replied. “God sent you here and made me happy. Will you hear my story?”
“Alangata there was a Shah who had a daughter. Three young men had submitted applications for the girl to the Shah. Shah then said to the three young men: ‘Anyone with unusual skills is entitled to marry my daughter.’ The boys went to find a teacher. They go in different directions. But they had promised to see each other again at a spring after all these months. The first boy learned to run fast. If he runs, a 6-month journey can be taken in half an hour. The second young man learned how to disappear. And the third young man learned to concoct medicine.
They came back almost at the same time. The young man who could have disappeared said that Shah's daughter was seriously ill and would probably die in 2 hours. The third youth immediately prepared the potion and the first young man as fast as lightning brought it to the girl. The potion is very potent. The girl did not die and the Shah immediately called the three young men.
Well Prince, you think which young man deserves the girl. I think that young man who can disappear.”
“No! I think the young man who concocted the cure,” said Shahzada.
They argue and defend each other's opinions.
Princess Mute said in her heart, “no one remembers the services of the young man who had delivered her medicine.”
Finally, impatiently hearing their debate, the Princess shouted: “Dumb base! I'll give the girl to the drug carrier. Without her the girl would have been dead!”
The king was immediately told that the Mute Princess had been willing to speak. But the Princess angrily said that she had been deceived and that she would only admit defeat if Shahzada could get her to speak three times. Infuriated, the princess smashed a light pole in her room.
The next afternoon, Shahzada and Bulbul returned to meet the princess in her room. This time Shahzada placed Bulbul's cage near one of the walls.
“Good afternoon Princess,” greet Shahzada.
The princess did not answer a word.
“Good. Since you don't want to answer, it might be better if I just chat with the wall. How are you wall?” Shahzada.
“Very good,” replied Bulbul who pretended to be a wall. “I'm glad you asked me to talk. How about I cheer you up with a story?”
“By pleasure,” said Shahzada.
“In a city live a woman who is loved by 3 men at once. The three men were: Baldji the son of the honey-maker, Jagdji the son of the fat-maker, and Tiredji the son of the tanner. They often visit the woman, but never see each other because they always visit at different times.
One day, while the woman was combing her hair, she saw a gray hair on her head, ‘celaka! I'm getting old. I have to decide immediately who I'm going to marry,’ said the woman.
Then he invited his three male friends to come at different hours. The first one to arrive was Jadgji and he discovered that the woman of his tribe was shedding tears. He asked why and the woman replied, ‘ My father has died and I have buried him in the back garden, but his spirit always haunts me. If you love me, would you pretend to be a ghost. Wear this bed sheet and lie down for 3 hours in the grave. Then he won't haunt me anymore.’
The woman pointed to a grave hole she had deliberately made and Jadgji unhesitatingly wore the bed sheet to cover her body and lay down inside the pit.
Then came Baldji who also found the woman crying. The woman repeated her story about her father's death, then gave Baldji a large stone; ‘If the ghost comes, hit it with this stone,’ he said.
Last up comes Tiredji. He also asked why she was crying. ‘How can I not be sad,’ said the woman. ‘My father has died and I have buried him in the back garden. But it turns out he had a witch's enemy and he intended to take my father's body. Look, he's even dismantled his grave. If you can take my father's body then I will be safe but if not.’ The woman came back crying.
Tiredji immediately went to the back garden to retrieve a corpse that was none other than Jadgji. But Baldji thinks there are two ghosts who came and hit Jadgji and Tiredji. While Jadgji thinks the ghost of the woman's father hit him. He threw the bedsheet he was wearing and hit Baldji. The three of them were shocked once they realized the true circumstances and together demanded an explanation from the woman.
Well Prince, who do you think should be the woman's husband? I think Tiredji!” bulbul.
According to Shahzada, Baldji was more entitled to be in a more dangerous position. They argue, defend each other's opinions. The Mute Princess who also listened to Bulbul's story was very disappointed because they forgot Jadgji's role and she immediately shouted to express her opinion.
The king was happy to hear his daughter speak. “Live once a young boy,” he told Shahzada. While the Princess was very upset because she had twice slipped. So to vent his anger he immediately ordered to destroy the wall where Bulbul had been leaning last night.
The third day and the day of the decider, Shahzada and Bulbul returned to the Princess's room. This time Shahzada put Bulbul behind the door of the Princess's room. As usual the Princess refused to open her mouth and this time even she turned her back on Shahzada. So Shahzada pretended to talk to the door. Like yesterday, Bulbul tells a story.
“There was a Carpenter, a Tailor, and a Sakti who traveled together. In a town, they decide to rent a shop and start a joint venture. One night while the others were sleeping, the carpenter woke up. Unable to sleep anymore, he carved a piece of wood into a statue of a very beautiful woman. When the statue was finished, he went back to sleep and immediately went to sleep. Not how long the tailor woke up. Seeing a statue of a beautiful woman in the middle of their room, he was tempted to make a beautiful piece of clothing. When she finished, she put it on and went back to sleep. By morning the Sakti woke up. He was so fascinated to see the statue of the beautiful woman dressed beautifully. So he pleaded with Alloh SWT to revive the statue. Alloh SWT granted her request and the statue transformed into a charming woman. When the Carpenter and the Tailor woke up and saw the beautiful woman who came from the statue, they scrambled because each felt entitled to have it.
Well Prince, who do you think is the most entitled?. I think Carpenter,” Bulbul said.
“Can't, I think the Tailor,” said Shahzada.
They went back to arguing. The mute princess got up from her seat and angrily she shouted; “You are all fools! That's the most worthy of the saints! The woman owes her life!”
And that means Shahzada has the right to marry the Princess because she has broken her silence three times. Then the grand wedding party was held for 40 days and 40 nights. Shahzada specifically called the grandmother he broke his pitcher to live in the palace. They all live happily.
