Chapter 20 - Teleport Magic

“Maybe you'll need information from this guy” while saying that, Mile threw a middle-aged man in front of me.

His body was full of rope ties wrapped around his body like a caterpillar cocoon to his neck and a thin sheet of cloth that clogs his mouth. I couldn't do much more than watch his body roll towards me.

“James Ragnard, a man from the military of the Kingdom of Nestrad who served as a civil defense strategist. The area around here is part of his responsibility, if you want additional information, then use the information in the person's head.”

Mile immediately left this room, where I checked the re-recordings displayed by the MOCAD System.

Will and Saku go to the Adventure Master Guild building to search for a Quest related to a missing child. While waiting for them to get information, I shared the task of observing the five small streets connected to the Nekoya Inn.

As far as we're concerned, there's no sign of a suspicious incident. Observing the repeated and accelerated footage left me slightly exposed to Motion Sickness.

One little question lodged in my brain.

“By the way, do you know the difference in Isekai Online time zone with our world?”

This sudden question made Kotori take her eyes off the small screen of search that opened in front of her.

In response to the question that came out of my mouth, Kotori started looking for some information spread across the internet. If only Kotori had not done this, I would have never known if Player could access the internet while playing Isekai Online.

What happens if we access a computer using remote access in Isekai Online? How long has the change been taking place? I guess I should try it once in a while.

“Senpai..”

Notifying her findings, Kotori shared her thin panel screen with me. That thin screen gave me a file from a technology journal that displayed a comparison between normal time and Advanced Time Speed Clock (TSCA) technology. The content in the journal is very important considering that the technology is applied by some hardware that supports Deep-Dive Virtual Reality (DDVR) systems. The technology in question can easily divide real-world time into several different times such as 1:1, which means one day in the system is equivalent to one day in the real world. Isekai Online implements a small time division of 1:4 which means four days in Isekai Online equivalent to one day in the real world.

“One day is equivalent to four days in the game, if this incident happened three days ago it means in our place it happened a few hours ago. Whatisthis? Time leap's? Time travel's? Time skip?” I was joking a little to reduce this boredom.

Suddenly the screen of the MOCAD System displayed a thin white glow on one of the small streets we observed.

“Senpai!” shout Kotori.

“I also saw it” reply me.

I immediately pressed the repetition button and slowed down the movement of the screen. The MOCAD system features a young child who suddenly disappears being swallowed by the white light caught on the MOCAD re-recording system.

I leaned my body against the couch, I knew that this world wasn't the real world, but..

How do I find someone who suddenly disappears like that?

The world filled with magic is terrifying.

I repeated the incident and found the same result.

“I guess wrong look, it turns out they did disappear.”

“Senpai, is it possible this is not an ordinary kidnapping?” ask Kotori.

“Entah, in a world filled with magic is too much consideration. I didn't know if kidnapping a child could be this easy” reply me.

“Do we need to report this to Onee-chan?”

“Oh, Pocket? I hope they can find some useful information for us. Our information is still very limited at this time, even with the help of the Nekoya Inn information network, this is still not enough.”

“Do we need to wake this grandpa?” Kotori pointed at the middle-aged man who was still tied to the floor.

“I think we need some little information from his mouth” I stand up and take off the rope that ties his body.

It seemed that he was sound asleep within this rope tie. I don't know what has happened to this middle-aged man but it seems like something is going on between him and Mile.

“Kakek... Can you get up for a minute?” I tried to wake the old man by shaking his body.

Just a little snoring coming out of his mouth, was he really sound asleep with such a bond?

“Kakek..”.

“Kakek....!?”

“Oy, Cake!?”

I tried to shake his body even harder. But nothing worked. This middle-aged man remained asleep in his sleep.

Suddenly, a message came in. The message came from Will who found some additional information from the Adventure Master Guild and sent a coordinate point.

I immediately rushed out of this room and met Will at the location point he sent.

When I met Will, I was shocked by the pile of papers behind him. Besides, there is a pocket that is sorting the paper containing the faces of children. The place where Will wanted to meet was a private room located within the Adventure Master Guild.

“So, what is this?” ask me while pointing at the collection of papers behind Will.

Will smiled faintly after hearing my question, I could feel a sense of satisfaction behind his smile. It was like something he got after going through the obstacles with great difficulty.

“Do you remember when you sent me to search for something in the Adventure Master Guild regarding the missing child quest?”

“Of course” answer me.

“Well..I improvised a bit about that, so it wasn't just the Adventure Master Guild that we came to but rather some royal warrior posts that received reports about the disappearance of a small child in their territory. And the result of that information gathering is..”.

“A myriad of Quest piled up like this?” I looked at the papers piled up behind Will. From his pile alone, it looked like hundreds of thousands of copies or so.

“Yes, like that. I don't think it's a simple kidnapping because some royal soldiers are also victims when they're looking for children. They just suddenly disappeared without explanation!”

“Oh, no. one more case piles up after another case.”

“Isn't this your favorite, Hans?”

“Since when have I been obsessed with such troublesome things? Can I see the report?”

“Of course, Detective.”

I immediately read the report paper Will collected.

“Dan.. what is Pocket doing?” ask me.

“Oh, he just sorted the location of the incident based on the date of the loss report.”

“You know, Will. Sometimes you can be relied upon if you have one clear goal.”

“Eh? Was that a compliment?”

“But, we are currently dealing with something troublesome and please bring Pocket here. Oho! One more thing. Please save all those Quest reports as there is some information you need to know.”

After saying that, I went back to reading the reports of the disappearance of some soldiers that happened in every place. There was no specific information on their disappearance, the report only contained a search list of soldiers who reportedly disappeared without explanation.

The more I read the report, some small facts came to light and gave clear clues as to what had happened to them.

Some of the soldiers were found to be in appalling conditions such as a weak body, dry red eyes that were open, a pale face filled with wrinkles, excessive fear of dark rooms, hysterical reactions when meeting women, and a lack of hope, the thin body was like a bone stuck to its skin, and the decay of their internal organs occurred randomly. Not infrequently some choose to end their own lives by hitting their heads on the wooden side of the bed, while receiving medical treatment.

Further reports said the source of their magic was found to be damaged. The condition causes their behavior to be strange and difficult to predict. The condition was compounded when it was discovered that indications of the source of their magic being forcibly stolen were found. The temporary guess of this incident is the existence of a black magician who is practicing forbidden magic to increase his strength.

Unfortunately, there were no further reports of the victim's condition.

I immediately felt a bad aura showering down on my body.

A little coke touched my shoulder.

“Senpai, all have gathered.”

“Eh? Who?” hearing that sentence, I saw that there were several players increasing before me. I know who they are!

“They again?” The player before me was a Guild member belonging to Will and Saku who left them.

Will who felt betrayed began lecturing one by one his Guild members.

I immediately accessed the MOCAD System and enlarged a map panel of live broadcast locations centered on five small street points. Seeing the MOCAD System suddenly appear before them, curiosity appeared before them.

When we arrived at the site of one of the children's disappearances, we only found a small, quiet street. Some food scraps and rotting garbage were clearly visible in front of us.

“What is this slum region?” ask Will.

“Not really, this looks like the back door of the NPC houses to take out the trash while they are. Aren't you doing something like this?”

“Why should I do such a thing?”

I can't speak anymore, our world is so different. The logic we have is also different, based on my point of view this is a reasonable place to dispose of food scraps here. I'm also used to doing this, piling up the rest of the trash while then dumping it in a nearby landfill.

But for someone like Will and a different lifestyle, this kind of thing was too foreign to him. At least I know, he's never done this before.

To be honest, the sudden disappearance of the child made me interested in learning the magic.

Will and I walked down the street in front of us.

As far as we go, this street looks like a normal street in general.

“Something big is going on here, I saw the reports you guys collected. The victims we find today are divided into two, namely kidnapped children and royal soldiers found in conditions of concern”.

“Something like this isn't it natural to be here?”

“Korazar? it's probable. But if it is interconnected with each other. what is it still called a reasonableness?”

“What do you mean, Hans?”

“Based on the recording of MOCAD System, they should have disappeared right in front of us but it feels like there is only a stretch of soil and dust here.”

“Are you sure your Class Detective system is accurate?”

“Will, we visited this location after seeing the footage. It's time to count down anyway. Would you give me the honor of counting down from ten to one?”

Right after the count to one, a loud bell rang out. The bells mingled with the appearance of a black magic circle right in front of us. From that circle, a red ball-shaped toy caught my attention.

“Will.. call Pocket here now.”

“You don't need to call me, Hans!” suddenly Saku was behind me.

“You're already here?” ask me.

“Didn't you just want to call me? I suddenly sensed a huge magic active, so I rushed to find it and found you here.”

“You can feel it?”

“Ras Elves are very sensitive to the magic shifts happening around them. Therefore we are used to feeling the tickling sensation of active magic.”

“Do you know what this magic is?”

“Let me see it..” I stepped my feet closer. His ears twitched slightly and his eyes emitted light as if observing a magic circle before us.

“Oh, this is Teleport Magic” Saku said.

A thin red thread has entered my brain.

I immediately used the MOCAD System and observed the surrounding area. From a distance, there were some children who came out from Arcadia Academy. That explains a new hypothesis in my head.

“Simply they are easy to trap with a little trick like this” I muttered a little and went back to paying attention to the MOCAD System then activated its magic detection filter. The small panel in front of me said there were a number of active magic points.

“Very clever..” I smiled faintly after knowing this additional information.

Who would have thought if this small case of NPCs had such a large operation. Spreading Teleport Magic all over the streets that children used to go through, who could have expected it?

“Saku, how to use this Teleport Magic?”

“Very easy! We just activate the magic skill and chant the words that appear and pass through it.”

Whatisit? it feels very ambiguous.

“So, we just have to stand on it and move?” I try to understand Saku's words.

Kotori who understood my confusion, walked towards me and whispered about how magic works for the Player.

In short, players who have a magic of forecasting are required to pronounce the words neatly appearing on their screen and Teleport Magic is one of the magic of forecasting.

I understand a little from Saku's point of view now. But since this is the Teleport Magic that has a decoy on top of it, we only need to enter right?

“Then, Will please step up..” said I.

“Heh? Why should I?”

“You want an explanation in general or in particular?”

“I want special explanation!”

“Your special explanation, this Teleport Magic will take you to the kidnapper's place. You go inside! Save all the kids there! Defeat some guards! And if the situation is safe. You can send a message to me then I'll come in.”

“Good idea!” Will supports Saku's advice.

Saku and Will looked at me, they were like waiting for my approval.

“Wait, I'll get ready first” replied me.

Hearing my answer, Will went to meet his subordinates to guard the location around.

I took out the camera from inside the inventory and retrieved the magic circle evidence that was in front of me.

Seeing myself suddenly pull out the camera made Paku's eyes glow.

“What did you just do? Where'd you get something like that?” indiscriminately, Saku pounced on me with a question.

“I just gathered some evidence for this case, did you forget my Class?”

“Oh.. ah. I understand now” reply Pocket in a calm tone.

“Ah, Hans.. will you be behind us? If it's not wrong your Class is Non-Combat Class right?” ask Saku.

“Well, that's a great idea. At least I can save a few bullets.”

“Peluru?” I was confused after hearing my answer.

As self-protection, I took out Gross-17 from my inventory. I pulled out the magazine and saw some bullets still in it.

“Em.. Hans? Where'd you get a gun like that?” Saku asked me.

I put my index finger in my mouth as a sign of silence.

It would be troublesome if Will found out about this weapon.

“Oh.. hahaha.ha.. I understand..”

Pocket who realized how noisy Will was after knowing this weapon preferred to keep his mouth shut.

I immediately put the gun into the sidelines of my clothes and prepared to enter the Teleport Magic.

“Well.. It's time we got into this lair that I don't know who it is, right?” said Will who came back after talking to his subordinates.

I stood beside the magic circle.

Saku, Will, and Kotori followed me. We together stepped into the range of Teleport Magic. In an instant, the black magic circle seemed to light up and my gaze was instantly devoured by a dazzling white color.

Suddenly, a stinging foul scent entered my nose.
