Chapter 40 - Un - Wanted Kill

Hans quietly sat down to relax in his private room while reading a translation book containing the magic formula of the Demon Ancient Rune. Beside her, Lilith and Shirayuki stood up like guard dogs.

Hans expression looked calm but his mind was filled with various theories and hypotheses about the cause of the appearance of a giant skull. The information Hans knew was enough to build a framework of events that might come close to actual events.

“It's a little difficult. I think.. I need to find additional information that can narrow down my theories and hypotheses Hans murmured.

Before Hans opened the new sheet in the translation book, a knock coming from the entrance of the Master Room sounded.

In response to that knock, Hans glanced at Lilith and gave a small code to open the entrance. Behind that door was a guest who was quite troublesome to enter the Master Room.

The troublesome guest was Elliot.

Since Elliot was a troublesome guest, he was accompanied by Siera as his supervisor. Previously, Siera and Lilith had thrown each other the task of keeping an eye on the guests entering Diamond Doom and had preferred to serve Hans. However, Hans divided their duties to reduce the possibility of unwanted events regarding the great secret of Diamond Doom.

Based on the information from the Underground Class Maid Contract, the Maid working in the Dungeon Diamond Doom was a top-tier monster that was quite dangerous to the normal lives of monsters and NPCs. If this information were to spread, Diamond Doom would be renamed SCP-Foundation or RPC Authority with the primary focus on confining, studying, and securing them.

Elliot walked up to the sofa chair and sat in front of Hans while Siera stood following the rows of Lilith and Shirayuki.

“Good room, Detective” compliments Elliot while observing Master Room furniture.

“How about the development of the case that is happening?” ask Elliot.

“Nothing special. It was not an official Quest for the Detective Class. That guy just asked for my investigation's help. So, I could relax to observe the condition and think of something else that had a close relationship with the incident. An example would be like the Demon Ancient Rune magic formation. It wasn't a script that could be learned in a single day and it took me quite a bit of time to understand the concept of his mechanism.” Hans replied.

“Demon Ancient Rune is very ancient for magic era now. The advantages and disadvantages of the Demon Ancient Rune lie in its magic drafting mechanism and the duration of use of Demon Ancient Rune magic is very limited. Regarding this giant skull, the constituent component of its magic lies in something that has abundant magic resources. Can I touch one of them?” right after Elliot said his last sentence. A huge gust of wind moved within the Master Room.

Elliot's body is now faced with various weapons that touch the area of his head. Shirayuki, Siera, and Lilith responded to Elliot's last words as insulting to their pride.

“Master Hans, it looks like my hand accidentally held a sword and injured his cheek.”.

“Master Hans, it looks like my scythe is moving on its own and injuring his neck” Lilith said.

“Masters.. Excuse me.. My hand slipped.”

Unlike Lilith and Siera who scratched their weapons. The sword held by Shirayuki pierced through Elliot's chest.

Having a sudden attack, Elliot looks at Hans's face as if he wants to protest against his Maid behavior.

“T-Pelverted? Yuhuuk!! Oh My God! The pain in this game is very pronounced.”

“Gaaaahaaak!!” when Shirayuki drew her sword. Blood coming from Elliot's character gushes out and floods the sofa.

“H-Hey! When I'm dying like this you're still relaxed?!” elliot Protest.

“How much is your HP left?” ask Hans again.

“Not much anyway, 1% sa-” left before Elliot finished his words. Hans closed the book in his hand and threw the book towards Elliot. The tome that Hans threw out gave Elliot a final strike that knocked him down.

Elliot's character slumped over the sofa and displayed a thin panel explaining his condition.

[*DEFAID*]

“Eh? Dead?” Hans sees Elliot's character slowly disappearing.

Hans realizes his actions and opens a status panel containing information about his character.

“Eh? My status is still normal? Didn't I just do Player Killing? Where is the status of Wanted given that tutorial?” muttered Hans.

Hans looked back at his character status panel.

After waiting for a few seconds long enough, there was only one notification that appeared in the private message of Hans character. The incoming message came from Elliot with a poetic description of the victims of the mistargeted war.

Hans replied to the short message with a pretty hurtful sentence and immediately closed the private message panel.

[Guest177013: Hehe.]

Hans stood up from his seat and picked up the book he had just thrown. A small stain of Elliot's character's blood stuck to the cover of his book. As Hans picked up the book, Hans realized how heavy the book was.

“Hmm.?”

“This book is quite heavy and able to kill characters with HP remaining 1%.”

“Eng.. 1%”

“Could.”.

“Shirayuki.”.

Hearing the call from his Master, Shirayuki who was busy cleaning her sword from the blood of Elliot's character immediately approached Hans.

“Well, please come with me for a moment. There are a few things I need to make sure” Hans orders Shirayuki.

“...” Shirayuki fell silent after hearing Hans's orders. Behind the Undead figure of his body, a long-dead heartbeat returned beating. The blood flow that had long stopped started moving down his veins.

“D-By pleasure, Master Hans! I'll follow Master Hans anywhere!” the order Hans issued sounded simple. However, in Shirayuki's ears it was a command coming from the supreme leader that had to be lived. The soul of the long-dead warrior re-emerged to carry out the orders of his Master.

Hans sends a short message to Elliot and waits for his arrival at the main gate of Diamond Doom.

Hans walked towards the exit of the Master Room. Before Hans left the room, he gave orders to Siera and Lilith to clean up Elliot's bloodstains left behind.

Hans enjoyed his small trip to the main gate of Diamond Doom. In between his travels, he met several Queen Order staff who were busy arranging the layout of the room and assisted by several Upper Class Maid on duty.

Hans briefly meets a classmate who is resting at the Diamond Doom flower garden but he quickly gets off the subject and leaves their sight. The content of the talk is not very important because it only contains compliments about the well-maintained Diamond Doom flower garden.

After Hans left his classmates, he rushed towards the main gate of Diamond Doom and joined the Upper Class Maid guarding the main gate.

“Shirayuki, if you meet this person. Can you do the same thing again?” ask Hans.

“There are some points I want to make sure of. Uh! make sure not to kill him! Leave 1% of his HP!” hans continued by affirming his last sentence.

“Em! Copy!” reply Shirayuki brief.

“Ung... 1% HP??” the final answer from Shirayuki that was ambiguous made Hans exhale quite a long time.

Not waiting for a long time, Hans sensed a considerable gust of wind and the Upper Class Maid taking out their weapons. The situation became even more tense as a huge shadow appeared in front of Hans. The shadow came out from the sidelines of the ground and formed a black body figure.

The black figure formed the character of Elliot and slowly displayed the pattern of clothing and weapons Elliot wore.

“What the fuck was that, Hans! Did you teach that rude service to your Maid! Guuhu-!” right after Elliot displays his physical character and comes out from within the black shadow. He is greeted by a sword belonging to Shirayuki that penetrates his body again.

“S-Good greetings, Hans! Gaaahaak!!” Elliot spewed out quite a lot of blood along with Shirayuki who pulled the sword from his body.

Elliot's body covered in puncture wounds lay on the ground.

“B-May I write a will to my children before death?” ask Elliot.

“Calm down, you won't die kok” Hans replied.

Hans fingered his clothing pocket and picked up the Tactical Baton. The sound of an elongated folding baton could be heard by Elliot lying on the ground.

“Emm.. I don't know what it is but it sounds really bad” Elliot said as he searched for the source of the sound.

Elliot noticed the source of the voice and looked at Hans.

“T-Wait a minute, Hans! J-If we have a problem. we can talk about this well. Sorry if I teased your Maid before!” regardless of Elliot's plea. Hans launched a small attack using Tactical Baton.

A panel containing information of the Takedown effect appears above Elliot's body.

“Hmm.. This is quite interesting” said Hans.

“What an interesting!! Is persecuting others already your hobby?!” elliot's tone of protest was pretty harsh.

“Not that, I just found the Player Killing mechanism without triggering Wanted” status.

“What you bica-“ once again, Hans throws a thick book he used before to kill Elliot's character.

At that moment, Elliot's character fell silent and faded again leaving a trail of blood stains and death panels on top of it. After Elliot's character goes missing, Hans opens his character's information panel to check on Wanted's status.

A few seconds had passed and the status of Wanted he was waiting for did not appear within the information status of his character.

“So apparently..” murmured Hans.

Hans opened his private message panel and sent a short message to Elliot.
