Chapter 41 - Social Stealth

Isekai Online is a fairly complicated and free game. The freedom of Isekai Online Player to choose different classes and storylines in each account is the main attraction of Isekai Online. Because of the level of complexity that gave birth to an option to run the Quest. Complete the Quest in the normal way or do it in another way.

Stealth is one of the other options that can be done by certain classes such as Assasins, Rogue, Thief, and other classes that have stealth-based skills. In general, stealth skills circulating in Isekai Online will reduce the detection range of Player or NPC. A very useful skill to launch surprise attacks and disappear from the sight of the enemy. For battles between players, stealth skills are legal cheats that are approved by the system.

Of course, to create a balance of skills in Isekai Online. Certain classes have different detection skills such as the Beast Summoner Class which uses call monsters to track the Player's footsteps, the Mage Class which is able to emit magic waves to detect objects, Class Assassins are able to detect the presence of fellow stealth skill users, and other classes are listed on the Isekai Online forum. In short, Isekai Online Developer has provided a stealth skill counter in each Class Player and gives the Player freedom to search for stealth counters according to their Class.

But, there are two Isekai Online Players who are able to use stealth techniques without having stealth skills. The technique they found out from a small idea was quite crazy by infiltrating the forbidden territory which was heavily guarded by the special forces of the Nestrad Kingdom.

This technique is called Social Stealth.

Social stealth is a stealth technique that utilizes the conditions of the social environment that is happening. This technique can be done in various ways such as avoiding interaction with the Player or NPC but staying within the social environment, taking other paths that do not attract attention, using false identities as disguises, or using false identities as disguises, or actively participate in a social environment. The main purpose of social stealth is to achieve certain goals by utilizing social environmental conditions.

“This is just my feeling alone or they are too brave to face the problem?” on the sidelines of their small observations, Elliot commented on the subject's decision of their observations.

“Looking at the sheer number of troops of the Nestrad Kingdom, it seems that they have big plans to conquer the giant skull. Well.. The quest regarding the giant skull had already spread in the Adventure Master Guild. It was not strange if they brought Guild Player for the conquest” mission Hans's eyesight was fixed on a large flag displaying the symbol of the Nestrad Kingdom and the Guild symbol he had seen..

“Uwaaah. Do you think they can beat a giant skull?” ask Elliot.

“Well, based on the book Demon Ancient Rune I've studied. They are too stupid to fight something unknown. The information I know right now is that the giant skull was created from the source of someone's magic. If the source of the magic had not been exhausted, the giant skull would always appear. “Storm Forest?”

“Hans, sometimes I'm very curious about the contents of your brain. Your knowledge of unreasonable matters is quite extensive but for important information such as the famous Player and Guild Isekai Online is still very lacking.”

“Only..” reply Elliot in a flat tone.

“Hou, you can guess it turns out” complimented Elliot.

“Yes, I have to thank you for that. Now, my brain stores useless information. Can you provide more useful information in the future?”

“Uhuk! That information will be useful someday. Believe!!” elliot said with confidence.

The sky slowly dimmed. The three sleeping moon figures began to rise revealing their light. The shadow of the trees that were disappearing became the marker of the night that had come.

Hans stood up from his position and gave a small code to start their hunt.

“Haaaah~ is time to infiltrate?” Elliot stretched his body after sitting for too long observing their hunting grounds.

“Shirayuki, please take care of our guests. If they come back, make sure to take care of them until we get back, understand?” hans said to Shirayuki.

“Ready, Master Hans. I'll take care of them until Master Hans returns”

Behind the grass hill that Hans sat on, there was a thicket that thrived. From behind the shrubbery, two Player bodies are tied to spiny plant stems and takedown status above the character.

Their character status features a Takedown effect, but due to the long takedown effect. They decided to temporarily logout. The takedown status they had obtained stopped and Hans did not want his small plan to infiltrate the forbidden territory known to their Guild members.

From a distance, the echoes of the sound of warning bells were earthy to each other. The night sky that had just awakened began to reveal their terror. Several magic circles were created above the sky and carved out a dancing Demon Ancient Rune script. The small cave in front of them began to rumble rattling the surrounding land until it was felt by Hans and Elliot. From behind the small cave, a bunch of bones began to come out and form a giant skull that said the greeting of death.

Looking at the strange anomaly that had just occurred, Hans smiled in satisfaction. It was the first time he had seen such a senseless occurrence in a realistic game. A game that is able to hit Hans rational thinking and make his irrational thinking excited.

The three lines of paragraphs created from the Demon Ancient Rune script made Hans chuckle at the ceiling.

“Why are you laughing?” Elliot, astonished by Hans' small laughter, questioned it.

“Ah.. No.. it's just.. The meaning of the writing of the Demon Ancient Rune is a little... chuunibyou? I guess.” Hans replied to her by holding back his little laugh.

“Means?” sahut Elliot with a confused expression.

“Talk this.” Hans pointed at the three lines of paragraphs of the Demon Ancient Rune that were engraved on the night ceiling.

“Harken to mine call, o spirits of the department. By the power of auncient words and the will of the dark, I summon thee forth from the depth of the earth. Arise from the graue, and heede mine command.”

“Come forth, undead servants, and heede mine call. Rise from the ashes of thy earthly remains, and let the power of mine words be thy guide. Let the darkness of the night be thy cloke, and the shadows be thy allies.”

“By the power of the auncient ones, and the will of the dark, I command thee to serve me now and forevermore. Rise, and obey mine command, o undead servants, and let thy power of mine be thine to wield.”

After reading the entire paragraph line of the Demon Ancient Rune written on the night sky, Hans realized the oddity in his last line. Slowly, he began to find out why the Demon Ancient Rune had such a fatal flaw before it was replaced by the Modern Demon Ancient Rune.

“K-Why did they all use the old English spelling?” ask Elliot.

“...” Hans did not respond to Elliot's question. His brain was busy digesting the information he had just obtained.

“Let thy power of mine be thine to yield, huh?” little murmur Hans.

“H-Hans. if you have other ideas. Don't save it yourself!” elliot shakes Hans' body.

Realizing Elliot's violent shock, Hans awakens from his little thoughts. The pieces of mystery that were in his head began to be solved bit by bit. The proof and theory he had thought of earlier had been answered by his two eyes. The events he had just seen became valid evidence of deduction outside of his rational thinking.

“Haaah. This is in the Fantasy World. Things like this, one or two things can definitely happen” said Hans to calm his logical brain.

“A-What are you saying? Explain everything to me, now!” Elliot slightly urged Hans to explain the situation.

“In short, we will go in there and search for the source of magic power from-“ before Hans finishes his words. A flow of magic energy and a gust of strong wind gushed down their bodies. After the gust of strong wind subsided, there was a loud roar that caught the attention of Hans and Elliot.

“From the owner of that big roar?” sahut Elliott.

“Yep.. according to the initial plan” reply Hans.

Hans and Elliot put up the hoods of their clothes. Just like Hans' semi-military attire, Elliot's black robe was fitted with a headscarf that adjusted his Class.

With a small code of head nods, Hans and Elliot walked down the grass hills to their hunting grounds. As the situation turned chaotic due to the appearance of the giant skull figure, the main door to enter the forbidden territory was wide open.

A red warning panel that appears suddenly becomes a small warning to Hans and Elliot. They had arrived at the forbidden territory, the fake identity they used was faintly visible in the darkness of the night. The figure that took refuge from behind the headscarf and the red ribbon that signified Guild Player participation fused with social circumstances.

The chaotic conditions that had been created by the giant skull greatly helped Hans and Elliot infiltrate deep into the forbidden territory. The soldiers of the Nestrad Kingdom worked hard to repel the attack of the giant skull while Guild Player tried to stop the movement of the giant skull with magic chains tied to iron pegs.

Hans and Elliot joined the back row of Guild Player wearing a red ribbon on his arm. Their role to take advantage of social conditions began.

With a small code of thumbs up, Elliot takes out his Staff weapon and casts some debuff magic onto the giant skull. Meanwhile, Hans sneaks into a tent that holds the bones.

Small observations that he did with Elliot gave information about the arrangement of the location of the tent and its function. Observing the forces of the Nestrad Kingdom putting up tents looked boring but the Guild Player working with them performed small tasks such as collecting pieces of bone that did not form a giant skull figure.

As Hans was about to enter the tent, he saw a lantern light that formed a human shadow inside the tent. Looking at the slender shadow shape, Hans learned there was a woman inside the tent.

“Ugh, I don't want to leave eyewitnesses. But.” Hans slightly doubted his intention to enter the tent. However, curiosity about the information that can be obtained defeats his small ego.

Hans slowly entered his destination tent in a calm manner.

From behind the tent, a sword had greeted Hans by the neck. The gaze of his eyes that observed the situation from behind the headscarf could be felt by the woman.

“A good look.. Can I know why there is a Player in a place like this? Didn't we pay you guys to take care of that monster?” said the woman.

Hans observed the figure of the woman in front of him. His slender posture and distinct military attire had revealed his identity. Hans who had taken refuge from behind his false identity looked calm even though the cold sword-eye touched his neck.

“Well.. You guys did pay us to take care of that monster. But, you guys didn't pay us not to get involved with your affairs” Hans replied in a very relaxed tone.

“Humpf! Fucking player! This is what makes me dislike you. Pigs who like to interfere!” the woman's words sounded rude.

“Do as you please!” the woman put her sword into the scabbard and turned her back to Hans.

“Need to remember! Don't mess anything up in here!” the threatening-sounding warning was just a little dog barking for Hans.

Hans just smiled and pulled the camera out of his inventory.

“Just relax, I won't linger inside here” Hans replied.

The woman put a suspicious look at Hans, he observed the camera in Hans's hand as if looking at a suspicious item.

The tent that contains a set of bones is divided into two parts. The first part is a corridor of bones that can still be seen by the naked eye and known bone structure. For the second part is filled by fragments of bone fractures and objects that may come from the bone.

Looking at the bunch of bones mixed into one, Hans took out one of the bones that had been collected. The characteristics of the bones he found were not much different from the bones stored in the magic prison of Diamond Doom. The rest of the flesh and the muscle layer that still sticks to the bone are important evidence of the death of the owner. Between the piles of bones, Hans found a bone that was different from that of a human.

“Hmm.. what is this?” Hans, who was curious about the bone, took it. The bone looks very slender like a bird's wing bone. Beside him, a skull smaller than the size of a human skull was visible.

“Hey, do you know who this belongs to?” Hans took a sample of the skull that caught his attention.

“Huh? Of course it belongs to the apes! Stupid fool!” hans' question bothered him a little. As a result, the answer Hans received made his pride fall.

“Yes, I know this from the apes. But, does an ape have to have the same rune symbol as in a human head?”

“Huh? What do you mean?”

Seeing the response of the woman who did not know the little information made Hans smile.

“Once it seems, you guys know nothing” Hans replied to his self-esteem that was tarnished with that sentence.

Hans took some pictures of human skulls that had carved deformed runes. The image Hans took focused on the deformity of the runes engraved on the skull of the head. That small flaw gave him new information from the deduction he had built.

“So it seems. You were doing a little experiment with animals and doing it to human skulls after the failure you created” little mutter Hans who observed the defects of human skulls and animal skulls in front of him.

The flaw of the rune carving that Hans observed was that it did not form a rune script but rather lines and arches that almost formed a rune script. In other words, the culprit was trying to make the Demon Ancient Rune and they were the trial materials. This little information made Hans smile with satisfaction.

Little by little, Hans began to realize the mystery he was pursuing. The incident regarding the massacre of Saintess' army, the Demon Ancient Rune that he found in the kidnap case, and the Demon Ancient Rune that formed a giant skull.

To Hans, it was like a web of interconnected spiders and if it followed the direction of the line of events. All of these events complement each other.

Hans unintentionally smiled with satisfaction, the Detective Class he was wearing turned out to bring himself to a unique case that attracted his attention.

Hans got up and got ready to leave. The information he got was enough to draw further deductions.

“Well..thanks for this valuable information. At least, I have known the identity of the perpetrator who created the monster” Hans said as he walked to the exit.

“Huh? Eh? What?!” the woman seemed confused by Hans's reply. As if he could not believe the words he had just heard.

Hans walked out of the tent without a sound of footsteps and left the woman.

“Wait! What did you just say!” said the woman while chasing Hans. When the woman passed the tent exit, she only found the gripping atmosphere of a giant skull fight against the magic chain that tried to bind her.

The figure of Hans who entered Ghost Mode was like a moon covered in black clouds. The trail and air of his existence disappeared like a ghost of night. As far as the eye could see, the woman did not feel Hans' presence until the fine fur on her nape stood up.
