Chapter 28. First Son Faris.
Black clouds blocked the sky that morning, which made the sun not show its light. Likewise with Melda's heart covered in endless sorrow. The trials that came in turn in Melda's life, made her so helpless in passing the days that it felt so difficult.
The second day at Rs, Melda who could not get off her bed at all, could only sit in silence while staring at the window with tears. His life felt so empty with all the pain he had experienced. The incident that happened to Melda, made all members of the Permana family sad.
The presence of the first son Faris and Aleta, who was named Alfa, was always celebrated as they had planned. But all of that had to be canceled because of Melda's miserable condition.
The first people to cancel the Alfa welcoming event were Faris and Aleta, and it was immediately supported by Papa Fahri as well as Mama Alira. They were indeed very happy with the presence of Alfa, but behind it, they were also enveloped in a feeling of great sorrow, for the incident that resulted in the death of the personal driver Papa Fahri, also the paralysis of Melda's legs.
For two days at Rs, Melda did not want to make a sound. And his silence made all members of his family so worried, as well as Farel's parents who had just come to see him.
"Where is Farel?" Ask Papa Fahri to Farel's parents, when they were out of Melda's room.
"He's still out of town, maybe tomorrow he can come here." Answer Mama Farel.
"Why is he out of town?" Faris asked with a cold look.
"He has business again" he said." Reply Papa Farel.
Faris was a little annoyed at Farel's parents' reply. Because according to him, all Farel was the first person who always accompanied Melda, when his condition was like that. He was eager to ask about the business that made Farel unable to come to see Melda. But when she wanted to make a sound, Mama Alira had already pulled her arm and led her to Aleta's ward, which was located not jaug from there.
"You why Ris? Ko looks at you like that anyway Farel's parents?" Mama Alira asked after they were already inside Aleta's ward.
"I'm upset with Farel. There are men like that! At the moment, she was the one beside Melda! What kind of fiance is he..?" Faris said with a look full of annoyance.
"Honey already! Maybe he was busy. And all that he's gonna do for the future of him and Melda." Said Mama Alira trying to calm Faris.
"What's wrong, Ma?" Ask Aleta who was leafing in her bed with Alfa, with a look of confusion.
"Faris was upset with Farel because he didn't see Melda." Answer Mama Alira.
"Where is Farel?" Ask Aleta again.
"Already Mas! He's out of town working." Aleta said as she looked at Faris who was already beside her.
"Surely her work is more important than Melda's..?" Ketus Faris with a face that is still very upset.
"Ris, what the hell are you doing?" Ask Mama Alira.
"What the hell is Ma?" Follow Papa Fahri who just came in.
"Faris was angry because Farel didn't come to Melda's door." Answer Mama Alira.
"Where are Farel Pa's parents?" Ask Mama Alira.
"They're home." Answer Papa Fahri.
"Ris, Farel's job is also for your sister's future." Papa Fahri said.
"Pa, whatever it is he can't make an excuse not to come here. Actually Melda it has no meaning for him?" Faris asked with a sharp look.
"It's la Ris! you don't have to think too negatively about Farel!" Papa Fahri said.
"I'm just not sure Pa is the same. And I won't until she hurts Melda! If he does that, he'll be facing me!" Faris was speechless with such a frightening look, and immediately stepped away from Aleta's nursing room.
Hearing what Faris said, the three people who were there could only look at each other, without being able to say anything. They were confused by Faris' bad attitude towards Farel, because they knew Farel was a good man.
Faris was very upset with Farel who was more concerned with his work than Melda his future wife. With a look full of annoyance, she stepped towards Melda's room while speaking in her heart.
"I won't let anyone hurt my sister. He had already suffered too much with all these calamities. I hope Farel is a good man for him." Faris was speechless as she continued to step towards Melda's outpatient room.
Faris could not bear to see her little sister, who was so miserable with all the calamities that came and went in her life. And he felt very angry and disappointed with Farel, who was like he did not care about his sister's condition, as a potential husband.
