Chapter 48. An Unusual Taste.
The smile behind Fara's gaze, caused a bit of a strange sense in Aleta's mind as a more mature woman. From the expression of her daughter, Aleta began to suspect that there was an inescapable sense from her daughter, towards the handsome figure she was staring at on her phone screen. Suspicion is also curious to become one in Aleta's heart, which makes her not long to choose to speak out.
"Fara, are you smiling at Riyan's picture?" Aleta's voice shocked her daughter Fara.
"Me, me, me, me, no matter what Ma, who smiles anyway." Fara replied a little groggy and misbehaved that made Aleta immediately laugh loosely.
"Maha.." Aleta's laughing voice that made Fara so confused.
"Loh Mama ko laughs? What's the same Mama?" Fara asked confusedly but with a look of finding out.
"You're like a little cat caught stealing fish." Aleta said after she stopped laughing.
"What does Mama mean?" Tanya Fara was a little upset because she was mistaken for a cat by her mother.
"The cat is always shy when it comes to delicious food." Aleta answered, which made Fara even more confused.
"What does Mama mean?" Ask Fara again with a frown.
"You fell in love just by looking at Riyan's picture." Aleta replied, standing by the bed, clawing her daughter's hair and then stepping out of the room.
Hearing what Mama said just now, Fara's face immediately turned red so shamefully. He himself was confused by his sudden feeling of wanting to have a handsome figure, just by looking at it once through a photo on his mother's phone. Fara was immediately attracted by the figure of Riyan who looked so handsome as well as attractive.
While Riyan who is far away in a country that is so developed, is sitting in the park behind campus with some of his friends. They were sitting discussing their graduation which was only a few days away. While they were chatting, suddenly the phone in Riyan's pocket rang a sign of a call coming in. Riyan immediately answered the phone, after seeing that it was a call coming from his mother.
"(Halo Bu,)" replied Riyan after his phone was connected to his mother.
"(Dear, you're okay, son?)" Melda asked attentively.
"(I'm fine, ma'am! Mommy hasn't slept? It's night there now.)" Riyan.
"(Mom will soon sleep, baby. But I want to tell you something about you.)" Melda's words made her son Riyan curious.
"(What do you want to say?)" Asked Riyan who had already stayed away from his friends.
"(Yan, ko you're quiet anyway dear,)" Melda's voice as there was no response from Riyan.
"(If it's my marriage that you want, I'm ready to get married. Because sooner or later, I'll still marry her.)" Riyan replied which made the disabled woman smile happily.
Melda has been able to step up since a few years ago. But because the fracture was too severe, and all the joints of his legs were stiff, making him unable to walk perfectly. And that's what makes Riyan so hurt every time he looks at his mother.
A few years ago, when Riyan was still in SD class 5. That night, he who woke up at night, stepped into the kitchen because he was thirsty. But arriving in the living room, he saw a very painful sight. At that moment, Riyan's steps immediately stopped after seeing his father was hugging his mother, who was crying while letting out his complaints that Riyan never knew.
"Mel, you don't be like this! Behind the ordeal, there'll be a silver lining." Reza said that night that Riyan heard from behind the wall.
"I know Bang, but this situation of mine is making me suffer. I can't be like any other woman out there who can go anywhere." Melda answered with tears.
"Abang will try to cure you. But do not make your situation a burden! You'll get sick if you have too many thoughts." Reza tried to comfort his wife.
"I also want to have a daughter like Mas Faris and Mbak Aleta. But all of that is very unlikely with my circumstances. Riyan was lucky that an aunt took care of him. And I don't want to give birth to a child but I can't take full care of it." Said Melda again that made Riyan realize, how much suffering that had been borne by his mother, in taking care of it with such circumstances.
"Mel, if Riyan had grown up, she would have married Fara. And Fara will be your daughter too. Especially if they have kids." Reza said that makes Melda can be a little about.
After hearing her mother's complaints, added again with Melda's explanation some time ago that is inaccurate about her accident, making Riyan's hatred even greater to his mother's family in Indonesia. And since then, he instilled his intention to avenge all that, with the matchmaking that his parents had agreed.
Riyan is an obedient child and affectionate towards both parents, although she never reveals all of that in words. And worse, he intends to avenge all his heartache for the suffering of his mother all this time, to an innocent woman who is completely innocent.
Riyan who was already in his apartment, just sat quietly in a room with a look that looked very chaotic. He was burdened with his own decisions. Ryan was like that, not because he had any other love. But she doesn't want to bond with a woman born into a family she's hated so much. But whatever happens, Riyan is determined to marry Fara, and make Fara feel the pain her mother feels. With a very sharp look at a photo hanging inside the room, Riyan was speechless in his heart.
"I'll marry you, but don't ever wish, I'll treat you as a wife. Only suffering will I give you until you ask yourself to part." Riyan spoke in his heart while staring at a photo on the wall.
Riyan's grudge was so great to his mother's family. To the extent that he chose to hang a picture of Fara on the wall of his room, let him never forget his future wife who one day, will pay for all the suffering that his mother had endured for decades.
