LOVE OR DEAD

LOVE OR DEAD
CHAPTER 33: THE DEATH OF GRANDFATHER

After a surgery that took 7 hours, a doctor came out of the operating room. We immediately swarmed the doctor, but with a flat expression the doctor declared that the operation had failed and was not saved.

Grandma instantly fainted hearing that, aunt and Azura immediately brought grandma to IGD. Jiro came as I left the front of the operating room.

“How is grandpa?” ask Jiro who just came.

“Stop your heart, unsaved grandfather” I said softly.

Jiro, who was standing in front of me, stared at the body of the grandfather who came out of the operating room, being pushed by the nurses towards the mortuary.

Jiro stopped the push-bed that contained the body of his grandfather, he hugged him while crying – sedu. I can only wipe – swipes her back trying to calm herself down.

Then we sat in front of the IGD room, Aunt Sanchi was inside waiting for the still limp grandmother after fainting. Azura bought a drink for us, only for me and Jiro to both sit in front full of sadness.

“Grandfather loves you so much and misses you, he says your name on the sidelines of – between his sleep. So when you entered the operating room, grandma asked me to call you”.

“Thank you for contacting me, thanks to you I can still look at grandfather's face even though it's lifeless”.

“Trust me..grandfather is already happy there, he will be sad to see you keep crying like this”.

“I knew this would happen one day, but I still couldn't control my sadness. Maybe because I couldn't keep them all this time”.

Azura came with a bag of plastic containing miniman cans. He thrust a can of canned drink to Jiro, “Drink and calm yourself”.

“Thank you” said Jiro Lirih while taking the canned drink from Azura's hand.

Azura and I sat flanking Jiro in the IGD front waiting chair.

“Today you grow more and more stocky well, hahahha” oceh Azura trying to break the silence.

Azura embraced Jiro's shoulders which bowed sadly.

“Sad today, but life goes on. Where there is life, death is inevitable. Go home, meet your family before you lose them” Azura said.

Jiro started crying – sedu with my face down, I could only hold back my tears.

After the cremation process, grandfather's ashes were placed in front of the temple altar as a final tribute to the relatives and associates of the deceased. In turn they pay their last respects by giving a flower.

In the middle of the show, Jiro pulled me out of the temple. I sat down to greet the mourners, confused by Jiro's sudden attitude.

“Go...” said Jiro who led me to the temple exit.

“Why?” my many.

“Uta and all the core members will come in condolences, they are on their way” explained Jiro while paying attention to the surrounding environment.

“Really?” manya panic.

“Wear this, to cover your face” Jiro gave me a black mask.

“Thank you” said as I picked up and put on the mask.

“I don't know what to do to help you, only you can do it. Go as soon as they get here” added Jiro.

I walked away from the temple.

……………..

Aunt Sanchi and grandma sat down crying, Jiro accompanying them. Shortly after my departure several cars filled the temple parking lot, they were members of the Endo clan led by Kawaki.

Kawaki who had been wearing all-black clothes entered the temple and paid his last respects.

“We mourn the death of your grandfather” Kawaki said.

“Thank you for coming” Jiro responded.

As Kawaki walks outside the temple, he smokes in the temple courtyard with Asahi.

“Jiro looks devastated by the departure of his grandfather” Kawaki said.

“But not with his father's death, I remember very well he asked me to kill his biological father back then” Kawaki said.

“Thanks to his father's gambling debts, Jiro became a member of the Endo clan. I used to remember very well he left his family to get money to return the certificate of their store and house that was stuck because of his biological father” said Asahi.

“I helped him that time not to make him my man, but because I could not bear to see him bear the burden of responsible adults. I feel like our lives bear a resemblance, I was abandoned by my birth mother while she was abandoned by her birth father” I was Kawaki.

In the middle of – middle of their conversation, Azura wara – wiri looking for Yoshiko. Then he called Yoshiko not far from where Kawaki and Asahi were smoking.

“Woi...Yoshiko, where are you? Not that we go home together, the event has not finished and disappeared” Azura's voice that was calling caught Kawaki's attention.

“Yoshiko... that name seems to be popular in Japan” Kawaki murmured.

“Why do you have to go home first, then please help me to water my plants on the roof ya” Azura said.

He approached Kawaki and Asahi to ask for a cigarette.

“Excuse me, can I have a cigarette? Turns out my cigarette out” said Azura without alkali – stale.

Asahi gave a cigarette and lit a fire for Azura.

“Thanks a lot” Azura said.

“Do you know Yoshiko?” ask Kawaki with a flat face.

“Ya.I know him, he's my guy to harvest vegetables and fruits” explained Azura.

“I also know Yoshiko isn't this a strange coincidence” Kawaki said.

“In Tokyo too many names Yoshiko, surely the people we know are different. But it would be a joke if the Yoshiko we know is the same.HAAHAHAHA” Azura tried to invite his interlocutor joking but looks crisp.

“KRIK..KRIK..KRIK..” Asahi and Kawaki are only silent with flat faces.

“What is your relationship with grandfather from Jiro?” ask Asahi.

“I'm a regular customer of Sanchi's aunt, mother of Jiro. I also know grandfather, we've been like brothers” I'm Azura.

Jiro approached Azura who was standing smoking together and called out to him.

“Azura..you are called my mother” said Jiro.

“Alright I will go there” replied Azura then say goodbye to Kawaki and Asahi.

“What are you guys talking about with Azura?” ask Jiro to make sure.

“We discuss Yoshiko” replied Kawaki.

DEGH.Jiro panicked to hear it.

“Yoshiko?” Jiro pura – pura don't know knowing.

“So he called and mentioned Yoshiko's name, I felt that name was very market” Kawaki said without suspecting.

“Huft...How many people named Yoshiko in Japan, it seems that later my son if women will not give Yoshiko. Very market” Jiro tries to outwit Kawaki.

“You intend to have a child?” ask Kawaki.

“For sure, I want to have a cute and stocky child resembling ku” said Jiro.

“HAHAAHAHAA..” Jiro tried to laugh even though it was difficult.

“Try to laugh like that, at least it can erode your sadness” Asahi said as she patted – on Jiro's shoulder.

“It turns out that losing someone we love is very sad. May grandfather be calm and happy there” said Jiro.

All speechless looking up at the blue sky, the death of grandfather made Jiro sad but he would continue living by his choice.
