Maple High School Academy Year 1
The Dragon in Gingko Forest - The Enchantment of Gingko Forest

The Enchantment of Gingko Forest

“SHOULDN'T YOU'VE gone home to Winter Kingdom?” Shalima asked Thann as she wagged her hand and walked after the boy. They were stranded on the riverbank and decided to trace the river back towards the moss picking point. As he asked, Shal felt something strange. The flowers on the right and left are withered, but they are on the banks of the river.

“Doctor Forta asked me to stay on Maple Island to accompany him to research some winged mammals,” replied Thann.

“Your wings are okay? I saw your wings burn before plunging into the river,” asked Shal again as Thann hugged and protected him from the dragon's fire.

“My wings can regenerate themselves. However, in these few days I could not grow it first before it completely recovered. So the only way to get back is on foot. Do you expect me to grow my wings and carry you flying?”

Shal hurriedly shook his head while imagining Thann carrying him on the chest while flying. “No. I never said anything like that. I really didn't know you had wings,” Shal said as he kept his mind out of Thann's arms.

Thann snorted. “What did you learn at the academy? Didn't anyone say that all angels have wings? Are none of your friends and teachers from the Fallen Angel race?”

Shal opened his mouth to answer, but hurriedly closed it back down. It's just free to argue. Finally Shal switched the subject. “Thank you for the song,” said Shal in a sneering tone over the song delivery via nuskabadori the other day.

“No problem,” replied Thann while smiling and walking ahead of Shal.

Just a few steps away, Shal remembered that Thann had just graduated from First High School, but was able to do research with the head of Maple Island Zoologist? What the fuck! Indeed, the boy had a hidden talent or maybe this because his family was close to dr. The forta? It's a kind of nepotism, isn't it?

“Why can you join the Zoologist team? Not you—”

Thann turned his head back and smiled disdainfully as soon as he saw Shal's questionable expression. “Do not envy, Shalima. I am a genius and a talent.” The boy then turned his head forward and continued walking while touching the flowers beside him. Shal swore, he saw the flowers suddenly wither after being touched by Thann. However, he chose to keep his mouth shut tight out of concern that the flowers were like Mimosa pudica, the touch-me-not shameplant, which snaps when touched. There are many plants that he does not know. Do not let Thann make this as material to back up his bulldoze.

You know, they've gone into the woods. Shal just go where Thann stepped. Although Thann sucks, Shal admits the boy always knows what to do.

They began to enter the territory full of yellow-leaved trees. Thann had stopped for a few seconds, then continued his steps through the place. They stepped on the ground covered in fallen yellow leaves. Thann turned his head when he heard Shal exclaim in admiration. She saw the woman smiling happily watching the beautiful trees.

This is the transition from autumn to winter. However, the leaves of the trees in Gingko Forest are still not finished falling.

“You look happy walking with me in the middle of a gingko tree,”.

Shal looked at Thann blankly. He did not know that this was a gingko tree, the origin of the name Gingko Forest. Should she not be happy to see this beautiful sight?

“Forget!” Thann returned his gaze forward while clucking in annoyance.

Shal felt a lot of things were covered up by Thann.

“Why are you disguised as a Zoologist in the moss retrieval team?” fishing rod Shal.

“There's someone else disguised as a Zoologist on that team, not me.”

“Really?” Shal did not believe Thann's words. However, if you recall, there was indeed no figure of Thann in the three Zoologists who took the briefing this morning, unless he had the power to change form. However, if Thann has the ability to change form, why when taking moss he does not change? Shal got dizzy himself.

“Lantas why do you want to steal Porsesa moss?” Shal asked again. This time Thann stopped his steps. Shal waited for Thann's answer, but apparently the man had no intention of answering his question. Thann heard something and walked slowly closer to the origin of the sound.

Thann walked towards the bushes, followed by Shal. As he brushed the bushes, they could both see a piglet turning its back on them. The little pig sniffed the trees. Shal breathed a sigh of relief. It was fortunate that only a small pig and not a dangerous animal as he had expected.

However, Thann instead settles down slowly approaching the piglet while humming a little. The piglet was hypnotized to hear Thann's sweet voice. He turned around and approached Thann. Shal could only pay attention from behind the bushes while questioning the plan. He had to quickly meet the moss-takers, but Thann instead lashed a piglet.

There was something strange when the piglet was touched by Thann. Shal could feel the piglet's gaze weaken and soon drooped to the ground.

“What do you do?” Shal was very surprised. He lunged at the bushes, about to check on the condition of the piglet. However, he hunted to hear a ruffled voice from behind the trees. Shal's steps were stifled because a large animal figure appeared.

“Not you again!” Shal sulks slowly. In front of him stood a large pig mother who looked at them furiously. The pig was very similar to the one he had faced at the Battle Arena. The one that almost killed her.

Thank goodness this is not a real fight.

That was his mentor said when the simulation was over. What about now? Shal felt his knees begin to tremble.

Without the ba-bi-bu, Shal and Thann immediately run to escape the attack of the mother pig who looks very angry. Shal sucks at running, while Thann is already far ahead. Thann tried to grow his wings, but to no avail.

Stop running, Shal! Face him!

The voice of the Mentor during the simulation first. This is not a simulation anymore!

Do I have to keep facing it? Shal. He clenched his hands to steady himself. He turned and tried to stop the pig. Just like the simulation, the pig's fang managed to tear his thigh in an instant and throw it. However, there was something strange that Shal felt. A moment after landing hard on the ground, he felt his body had completely healed. Unexpectedly, the huge wound on his body instantly healed in an instant. He could immediately stand up and put up the horses.

Suddenly, Thann stood in front of him, as if trying to protect him from a second pig attack. “You all right?” tanyakanya.

“When the pig strikes again, you run as fast as you can towards the north!” thann's orders.

Shal was shocked by Thann's actions and words. In fact, the boy had already dashed far in front of him earlier. Shal thought, it was a good opportunity for Thann to dodge the swine attack. It turns out he misjudged Thann. The man came back and tried to protect her.

The pig started attacking again.

“Running!” Thann ordered Shal to run while himself advanced against the angry mother pig. Shal did not carry out the order and instead stood stiffly in his place. He doesn't know what to do. Escaping and leaving Thann to fight with a pig was not the right thing according to his conscience.

Thann yelled towards the pig and Shal could feel his eardrum hurt a bit. This is no ordinary scream. The pig seemed to endure the pain, but still lashed Thann. Shal screamed in fear. He saw Thann drifting upwards, apparently managed to be gored by the mother pig. However, when he was on top of the pig, he twisted his body and punched the pig's head to fall. The pig continued to run, but his steps began to stagger. Before long, the pig had already fallen to the ground.

“Run, Shalima!” Thann said his orders again. Without spending much time, Shal ran after Thann. There was the sound of a pig growling and trying to get up. Apparently, the blow from Thann gave them time to immediately find a hiding place. Soon the mother pig will come back to run and attack them.

Shalima and Thann are now in a cave. The mother pig was heard growling at the cave door, but could not enter because of the sharp stalagmites growing along the cave. When entering earlier, Shal and Thann very carefully stepped through the gap between the stalagmites. Some time later, a pig steps away from the cave.

“We can hide first here.” Thann sat on an area of land that was not covered by stalagmites. His face looked a bit pale. Probably tired of running. He noticed Shal's pants were torn and covered in blood. Before long, he seemed to remember something and became extremely irritated.

“If you have self-healing ability, why would I bother helping you earlier?” regret Thann.

Shalima could only frown. “Having self-healing capability does not mean it cannot die!”

“Oh yes?” Thann asked in a sneering tone, completely distrustful of Shal's words. The boy did not demand an explanation and instead drank from the water source beside him. Shal himself did not want to spend the time to give an explanation.

Shal often pondered this. If he continues to be attacked, can he still do self-healing continue or even die?

Shortly after, Netra Thann locked onto something on the cave wall and her lips started humming. Shal deja vu with what he saw. After seeing a lizard sitting on the cave wall, Shal knew what Thann was going to do. Thann's hand was already stretched out, but Shal immediately stopped and brushed it off.

“What do you do?” Thann was surprised and immediately glared furiously at Shal.

“Why? Killing piglets is not enough? Still want to kill lizards too?” shal was angry. “While they are weak animals, they are also worth living for! Not because they are weak, you have the right to kill them!”

“I didn't kill them, Shalima Shero!” snapped Thann annoyed.

Suddenly the walls of the cave turned green and there was a rain of yellow gingko leaves. Shal wonder. There are no gingko trees in the cave, why suddenly there are hundreds of gingko leaves falling?

Shalima Shero, thank you for protecting me. Thank you for thinking I'm valuable even if I'm just a little lizard.

Shal turned to the source of the sound, which was the green lizard that Thann had targeted.

“Tak problems. Every creature is entitled to life.” Shal stroked the cave lizard.

Will you be my friend forever, Shalima Shero? Although I am small and useless, but I will try my best to be your partner.

“Of course, Malachite! Of course!” shalima replied enthusiastically. I don't know why he immediately gave Malachite's name to her. What is clear, the greenish color of the lizard is very beautiful and reminds him of the malachite stone.

Suddenly Thann pulled Shal's hand, like he wanted to make her realize. The yellow gingko leaves that had fallen now have no trace and the cave walls are again dull brown. Is he hallucinating?

“You bind inner with lizard?” Thann covered his face with his hands and continued his sentence, “I thought you were just stupid, but it turned out to be worse than stupid, huh?”

“I? Inner binding?” shal asked confusedly.

“Ya, just now. You even gave him a name, right?” Thann shook his head in disbelief.

“Iya,” replied Shal plain. Perhaps this resulted in never hearing Amara's words while repeating what he read in the book about binding the mind. “I don't mind tying up with Malachite!” shal continued with a smile towards Malachite who was now on his shoulder.

Thann closed his face again, shaking his head.

“Pick carefully with whom you bind the inner. Not only will he be your friend forever, but he will be on every adventure of your life. You also have to protect it with your life. Therefore, choose to bind the mind with a creature that can at least really help you or worth fighting for. Not—” Thann could not continue his words when he saw Malachite looking at him sharply. He didn't expect anyone to actually want to be friends with a mini lizard forever. What luck?

“Sup, Shal! You have tied up with him!” yell Thann was upset. “From now on, be more careful in life. That said, tying the inner with a lizard only brings pesky. The animals would think a hundred times to bond with someone who had already bound themselves with a lizard. I've never even heard of anyone tying the mind with a cave lizard, for the sake of the gods!” Thann cursed in annoyance. He just saw people making such a ridiculous decision in his life.

Don't worry, Shal. I will exert all my abilities to help you in every fight. Thank you for the name you gave me. Malachite, I love it.

Malachite tried to calm Shal down. The girl looked at Malachite inside. It turns out this is what it feels like to bond with someone. Shal feels able to understand and communicate through the mind with Malachite. It's like a deep, unexplainable feeling.

It's sad if it's not wanted. Every creature deserves a chance. Shal knows how to feel worthless, then get a chance. There is no harm in giving him a chance if he is able to.

“Oh, there's something I want to get straight.” Thann spoke again. However, Shal felt Thann uttering the sentence in a weak tone. When he turned his head, he saw that figure suddenly collapsing.
